Hello SUMMER! I’ll get right to the point. If you love summertime, the sun, the sea, the fun. Go no further than the SquareHue Adventure Collection for June, Sail Windward Islands. Amazing shades of citrus for your fingers and toes.
Slap on your deck shoes because SquareHue is taking you for a cruise to the Caribbean. The June collection, Sail Windward Islands includes, from left, green shimmer of Martinique; orange shimmer of St. Vincent; and yellow high gloss creme of St. Lucia.St. Vincent is a tangerine orange with golden shimmer. This one is breathtaking. Easy to apply. Nail charms by Glitter Lambs on Etsy.St. Lucia is a banana peel yellow. Vibrant and pigmented. A bit on the jelly side. This took 2 coats. Nail art pieces by Glitter Lambs on Etsy!Martinique is a glorious key lime green with hints of golden shimmer. Absolutely love this. 3 smooth and easy coats. Nail charms by Glitter Lambs on Etsy!
Conclusion. I love citrus, and especially love citrusy polishes like this. I would recommend using a good base coat in case of pigment bleed. The yellow is especially pigmented. Love the application and colors! A special thank you to Jamie from Glitter Lambs. Her charms and nail jewelry is the bomb!

Diving right into the April polish subscription box from SquareHue, the moment I opened it I was out of breath! The April Adventure Collection brings us Skydive Interlaken. Three finishes, three knockout shades. Let’s suit up and take a look!
Eye popping shades for April! From Left, Monch…an eye-searing matte yellow. Eiger…a pink duochrome gloss (I’d consider it more of a pink with flashes of blue). And a glitter within a purple crelly, Jungfrau.
Monch is so brilliant, not even the sun can compete with this shade. Wear it matte or shine it up even more with a topcoat. I don’t know why but yellow this shade screams for black! So I had fun with some dots and dry marble.
Monch in 2 coats. I read that some folks had some streaking and stringy formula issues. I had NO issues at all. Dried fast and very matte and I didn’t even need a 3rd coat.
Eiger is a super glossy pink with flashes of blue shimmer. I don’t seem to get a duochrome effect, but it’s sure gorgeous!
It took 3 thin coats and was easy to apply. I love pinks like this with that hint of shimmer.
Last but no way least, a super surprise this month is a pale purple crelly/glitter, Jungfrau. Hey, did you know that Jungfrau is a group of mountain peaks in Switzerland? Me neither. I really must get out more! lol
Jungfrau in 3 easy coats gives you great depth and dimension.
Conclusion. I read a couple mini reviews and a couple of reviewers had a couple of problems with Jungfrau and Monch. I had 0 problems, 0 defects! the Eiger took a bit longer to dry but the glossiness is worth it. Jungfrau is exactly how I like my crelly/glitters. And Monch, well. She’s a standout as far as yellow polishes are concerned. I’m super pleased!

I’m slowly getting back into the swing of things with my swatching and blogging. I managed to grab a few hours before the big move to swatch these and a few others. For some reason, my swatch “non-dominate” hand’s middle digit wants to keep chipping, just millimeters at a time, still frustrating! But now that all the packing, painting, etc is done for now and we are in Texas, my nails can breathe a sigh of relief and I can allow them to regain their original length. Sorry for the odd lengths. I couldn’t bare to trim them any further. 😉
I’m excited I got the Decades Collection July box, 1960, before we left. These three polish colors are wonderful for summertime. Let’s get right to the groovy images!
This month’s The Decades Collection box featuring the 1960s is far out! The in-your-face fuscia Tune In is a satiny fuscia neon. It dries matte but looks amazing alone or with topcoat. Same with the highlighter neon Turn On. It’s a brilliant 2-coater matte, and no white undies required. The purple/blue duochrome with brilliant blue flash shimmer makes this set complete, and oh, so glossy!
Let’s start with Tune In, a neon pink matte.
Tune In is one of those brilliant deep neon pinks that make you love, well, pink! Hard to tell by my photo here, but I put a coat of clear topcoat on the ring finger, but even matte, this color jumps off the nail.
Turn On is also matte, but it’s a brilliant neon yellow/green and I LOVE it! The photo makes it look more yellow, but on the nail it has a bit of green cast.
Turn On is a matte SUPER highlighter yellow/green that can make the most pale look tan! Wow, my camera couldn’t even handle the brightness. Great formula, no white undies needed.
And last but not least, Drop Out. This glossy duochrome is opaque in 2-3 coats, and oh my, that blue flash is crazy!
Drop Out is a fab duochrome purple/blue glossy with brilliant blue flashes. Two coats here!

First, let me get a tiny bit of business out-of-the-way. As you know (if you follow me on Instagram, and you should 😉 We have been planning a big move to Texas from Missouri. Now that has happened as of Monday, I’m slowly getting back to a bit of my regular posting routine. Sorry if it seems my blog presence has been a bit spotty in the past month. After living in the same home for 17 years, moving, fixing, sorting, purging and packing was more daunting than I imagined! But we’ve accomplished this phase (moving into our daughter and her hubby’s home while we househunt) and we are super pleased to be here! I’m getting caught up with my posts, which the next few are swatches I had already done before our trip and now time to post! I also trimmed the length of my nails down to keep them from breaking too badly during the move. Thank you for your patience.
Now for the important schtuff! lol This is my first experience with indie brand, Baroness X Nail Lacquer and I couldn’t be more pleased with this cute collection, NeoElectro. Owner, Demi Lee, also has a lot of other gorgeous polishes on her site as well. These formulas are all top notch, and really unique. They are set to release on July 29th, just around the corner. Let’s take a look!
The Neo Electro collection from left: FluoroFizz, Electric Sparks and Neon Bubbles. Each set comes with a set of Flair Free Mani Bombs and 4 hair ties! These are healthy minis in 8 ml size, which cost $18. The full size set (15 ml) size set is $27 and you can purchase full size individually for $10 ea.Neo Electro bottles clockwise from the top! FluoroFizz, Electric Sparks and Neon Bubbles.
First up is FluroFizz and I’ll share with you images both in direct sunlight and a well-lit room. FluoroFizz is a gorgeous neon pink jelly filled with Spectraflair in the base and the glitters are a mix of matte and holo black glitter (the large circles are holo and some of the smaller glitters are as well. It loves the sun!
FlouroFizz in well lit room, not direct sunlight as in the other photo, but still has tons of pop! This is a fabulous formula, only 2-3 coats, this is 2.
Next up is the brilliant Electric Sparks. This one really has kaboom!
Electric Sparks in the sun is gorgeous! I say gorgeous with a singing voice! lol On the ring finger you’ll notice I painted one coat over white for an in-your-face highlighter effect. Or you can wear it slightly toned down with 3-4 coats over the bare nail. Easy to apply, easy to remove.Electric Sparks in indoor natural light. You can still see the glitzy sterling silver flakies even without direct sunlight. Stunning!
And a macro shot of Electric Sparks because it’s just mesmerizing!
Macro of Electric Sparks. So simple but complex to describe. The highlighter yellow/green jelly base contains various small sizes of silver flakies. This gives them the appearance of having a golden hue, especially in the sun. It stunning! This is the nail with one coat over a white base.
And the third in this little collection is Neon Bubbles. How cute is this one?!
Neon Bubbles, even the name is fun! Here she is in full sunlight. I didn’t try her alone, but this is one coat, smooth as silk. over a deep fuscia gloss. NB is filled with neon micro glitters of pink, aqua, yellow, green, and black. I think I got them all, OH!…and holo glitter.
Thanks so much for reading! All in all, I’m super impressed and highly recommend these polishes. Go check out Demi’s other collections while you are at it. Lots and lots of pretties!
Here are the particulars for the NeoElectro collection, release date July 29th:
a.) mini set (8 mL) for $18
b.) full set (15mL) for $27
c.) individual full sizes $10 each
Both sets will include 4 free hairties and 2 Flair Free Mani Bombs.

Oh wow, this is what summer neon polishes should be folks! Pigmented, non-staining, one-coater, no white undercoats. These babies from Virago Varnish have it all. I have 3 of the 9 available shades in this stunning collection. I’ll say it right away, GET THEM!
Wowza! I have three of Virago’s Boardwalk collection for summer 2015 and are these beach babes bright! From left, Tsunami Mommy, Summer Highlighter of My Life and Paradise Pool.
Here are the swatches and descriptions!
For Tsunami Mommy I did a fun dry brush of the three shades over a glossy black on the accent nail
Virago describes Tsunami Mommy as, “Watch out for this mommy! Tsunami Mommy is a bright pink neon lacquer that will have onlookers gazing at your nails. A white base is not needed to achieve full opacity. For long-lasting neon manicures, we recommend the use of our Clutch Base Coat and Lambent Top Coat.” Seriously folks, this is a hyper pigmented one-coater and NO white undies! It does dry satiny so if you want a glossy look you should use a clear topcoat.
On the Summer Highlighter… accent nail I dotted with Tsunami Mommy and Paradise Pool!
Neon yellow in one coat, no white undies? Yes please! Virago describes this beauty as, “Your future will be as bright as a highlighter wearing this lacquer. Summer Highlighter Of My Life is an extremely bright and opaque yellow neon crème nail lacquer. A white base is not needed to achieve full opacity. For long lasting neon manicures, we recommend the use of our Clutch Base Coat and Lambent Top Coat.”
For Paradise Pool I did a fun dry brush of the three shades over a glossy black on the accent nail.
Fabulously pigmented Paradise Pool! Virago describes it as, “Ready to take a dip? Why not into Paradise Pool? Paradise Pool is a bright pool blue neon lacquer. As with all Virago Varnish neon lacquers, a white base is not needed to achieve full opacity. For long lasting neon manicures, we recommend the use of our Clutch Base Coat and Lambent Top Coat.” Isn’t that refreshing?!

Today I want to share with you a few of the new shades (available now) from Madam Glam. I’ll start with four polishes today but I’ve got a ton more to share with you from this fabulous indie brand! Let’s get started!
Here they are:
Today I’m sharing the first set of so many new delightful shades that have joined the Madam Glam fam! Cremes and a jelly, From left, are: Lucky Bamboo, Cashmere, Summer Nights and Holy Yellow.
First up is a creme that will surely get attention this summer! First up is Lucky Bamboo. So fresh 🙂
Oh how I DO love this one! My camera couldn’t handle the brightness but I think I pretty much captured it’s bleached out neonness (yes, I went there) of this pale green. I have not acquired a tan yet (too much rain here this spring) but these kinds of shades “luckily” will make you think you have one! Two easy coats to glossy perfection.
Next is a refreshing orange called Summer Nights.
Ahh, we all love Summer Nights and I’m excited to see this lovely tangerine creme with my favorite time of year. 2 coats.
You know it has to be summertime around the corner when the yellows show up. Here is Holy Yellow.
Ahh, Holy Yellow! You toyed with my camera but this jelly will make your yellow lovin’ friends jellie! It takes 2 to 3 coats for full opacity as is the way with most jellies but dries nice and glossy. It reminds me of those lemon drop candies! Ooh, I just got an idea! Add a bit of sugary top coat for a real Lemon Drop mani! Hmmm…
And last for today is a delicate pale grey, Cashmere.
Cashmere glides on to a perfect and glossy finish in 2 coats. I love this kind of pale dove grey. I think it would make a perfect office appropriate shade!
In conclusion, I LOVED every one of these. I will be posting more in the coming week. Get your hands on these now!
Madam Glam offers a ton in Vampy shades, neutrals, Neons, Pastels, Glitters and Golds. They also have Soak Off Gel polishes, eye makeup, blushes, foundations and lipsticks. Aloha all you wahines! Howzit? I have to admit, I am in love with 99 percent of this collection sent to me for review from Loxa Beauty! So much that I was a bit concerned about how these sun-drenched shades would look on my winter pale skin, that I actually applied bronzer on my fingers for the photos. How’s that for dedication?! No worries “brah”, it’s all da kine good when you’re on the island. And I REALLY want to get back to Maui. We were there for nine wonderful days in ’02 and all 500+ photos I took…all gone! Sadly, my laptop totally died a painful death upon reentry to the mainland and I didn’t back up my pics. Yeah, dat was lolo (stupid), I know. So I HAVE to go back right?!
Okay, I won’t torture you any further with my feeble attempt at the “pidgeon” slang. My kids would say, “lame Mom, lame.” LOL the collection consists of 12 island inspired shades. Cremes, shimmers and a lonely little metallic yellow glitter mix. Let’s take a look!
The OPI Hawaii collection for Spring 2015. Top down, left of center of starfish: top red is Go With The Lava Flow; to the right the green is My Gecko Does Tricks; the blue is The Color’s Making Waves; under the blue is Hello, Hawaii Ya?; the peachy apricot creme is Is Mai Tai Crooked?; and the pink is Suzi Shops & Island Hops. To the right center of the starfish is: the mauve on top is Just Lanai-ing Around; the purple is Lost My Bikini in Molokini; the minty green is That’s Hul-Arious!; the sandy nude is Do You Take Lei Away?; bottom yellow is Pineapples Have Peelings Too; and the bright coral/red is Aloha From OPI.
Get yourself a Mai Tai and pull up a beach towel. There are a lot of photos here! First up is Do You Take Lei Away?
Do You Take Lei Away is a lovely nude creme that only needed two coats. It’s a bit on the beige spectrum but not too much pink. It’s more like sand. Buttery formula.
Here we have Is Mai Tai Crooked?
Is Mai Tai Crooked? is a peachy salmon creme. A bit streaky on the 1st coat, starts correcting on the 2nd coat and perfect on #3! 2-3 coats depending on your technique but the color is worth it!
One of my faves, gorgeous Aloha From OPI.
Aloha From OPI is one of my faves in the lot. It’s a brilliant “almost coral” but the color reminds me more of a red island flower, maybe I’ve seen this on a hibiscus? Gorgeous with a tan. I used 2 coats and it’s pretty amazing.
In the same color family is Go With The Lava Flow.
Go With The Lava Flow is another coral but this is a shimmer. Just a slight shimmer but really glows in the sun. I can’t wait to see this on my tanned toes! Super easy to apply, 2 coats.
And mauve shimmer in Just Lanai-ing Around.
Just Lanai-ing Around is a mauvey pink, but not your granny’s mauve! It’s just downright juicy. There is a very slight silver shimmer up close. This is 1 coat! But you might do 1-2. Great formula!
Blushing beauty is Suzi Shops & Island Hops.
Suzi Shops & Island Hops is a bubblegum pink creme. Nothing new here. It wants to be ornery and streaky on first two coats but it dries fast as do the others. So it’s all good. This took 3 coats. Another nice one for summer toes.
Here is a simple mani using some of the above shades.
So, I wanted to create a simple mani using some of the color families in the collection. A simple dotticure with a gradient accent nail. On my pinky is Do You Take Lei Away? with dots of Aloha From OPI. The gradient is both of those shades plus Go With The Lava Flow. Go With The Lava Flow on my middle digit with Do You Take Lei Away?. On my pointer finger is Is Mai Tai Crooked dotted with Go With The Lava Flow.
In case you have seen That’s Hul-Arious! in the bottle and wondered, I did a comparison for you against Gargantuan Green Grape (not a part of this collection, but I already had it and just knew I had to throw this one at ya!)
Okay, when I opened the package containing these 12 summery bottles, I had a deja vu moment with That’s Hul-Arious! Where have I seen this before? Ahh, I have a water, yucky bottle of a gorgeous color that aggravates me to no end, Gargantuan Green Grape! Well, no they aren’t dupes but you can barely see that in the bottles side by side. I’ve labeled them so you can see. “GGG” is a cooler shade of mint, watery and takes 4 coats to opacity and then you may still see nail bed. Whereas “TH” from the Hawaii collection is mintier, much more opaque and not nearly as watery. It took 2 coats for me, and recommended 2-3 coats. Very glossy too! If you get That’s Hul-Arious! and are tempted at any time to get Gargantuan GG, don’t bother. All you need is the Aloha spirit of TH! I wanted you to see the difference between GGG and TH. It took 4 coats of Gargantuan and still see nail bed. That’s Hul-Arious only took 2 coats.
And here is That’s Hul-Arious on the nails.
That’s Hul-Arious is a minty green creme, nice formula, 2 coats.
Another pretty green in the collection, My Gecko Does Tricks.
My Gecko Does Tricks is a shimmery, sort of duochrome like finish, very shiny and although it goes on sort of thin, it only took me 2 coats. You can get full opacity in 2-3 coats.
A beautiful Pacific blue shimmer in This Color’s Making Waves.
This Color’s Making Waves is a pretty metallic with silver shimmer and silver glass flecks. This is 2 coats. It definitely reminds me of the water at the black sand beach on Maui!
Almost there! I know, longer than a 14-hour flight to the island chain. Here is Hello, Hawaii Ya?
Hello, Hawaii Ya? I’m not totally sure why this smoky purple landed in the collection. Maybe it represents Pele’s personality. Maybe there is an island flower this color? It’s pretty, and I like this cremey formula. I just don’t think it needed to be in this collection with the other gorgeous grapey purple. You know what? Actually, now that I think of it, poi, that starchy purple mashed root that is so prominent in a myriad of the Island’s food could be the inspiration here. At a luau we attended in Maui, besides poi we had taro root rolls nearly this color! They were goooood! So, I take it back. This color belongs. 😉
A gorgeous, absolutely stunning purple creme, Lost My Bikini in Molokini.
Lost My Bikini in Molokini. Molokini, that crescent islet off the coat of Molokai is a great place to dive. And you do NOT want to lose your bikini there. When we snorkeled there we saw lots of honu (sea turtles) and reef sharks! This gorgeous grapey purple creme is another of my faves in this collection. 1 COAT! LOVE IT!
And last, my least favorite, but nice attempt, Pineapples Have Peelings Too.
Pineapples Have Peelings Too. I hoped to give you good news about this one. But I can’t lie. This is two coats but I had to fish for every glitter (other than the colored micro glitters) on each finger. I applied the first coat easily enough and I like the shimmery yellow all by itself. But that infernal glitter does not belong in this metallic yellow polish. This is two coats. between coats I had to dob polish onto a piece of foil then pick the larger glitters up with an orangewood stick, apply, then applied the second coat. Sorry but a indie glitter it’s not! I do like the yellow though!
That’s all 12! Have you already picked up any of these, or the whole collection? You can order them all at *** Loxa Beauty today!
Believe me, I wanted so badly to have a little tan before swatching these, so I had to fake it with bronzer. Oh well, the life of a beauty blogger! 😉
OPI Nail Lacquer is rich, long-lasting, high shine, colored nail polish for natural nails. OPI Nail Lacquers contain everything you want, nothing you don’t. Contains no DBP, toluene or formaldehyde and they are not tested on animals Lacquers feature OPI’s exclusive ProWide Brush.
Jamie from Glitter Lambs, maker of amazing indie glitter toppers, has done it again! I think she must just look around in her day-to-day life and envision every pretty thing as a potential glitter polish 🙂 Today I’ll be sharing my swatches from the upcoming collection, Fashion makeover. These will be released and ready for purchase on March 14th. Here is the lineup:
Release on March 14th, the 2015 Glitter Lambs Fashion Makeover Collection! From left: Baby Blue Eyeliner, Lilac Mascara, Lime Green Eyeshadow, Candy Lip Balm and Golden Honey Foundation. Makeup items not included. 😉
Let’s start off with a brilliant green glitter called Lime Green Eyeshadow.
Lime Green Eyeshadow is described as, a clear base filled with neon green hex, iridescent glitters and pastel glitters.
Here is Lilac Mascara. What? You don’t have any? 😉 It’s gorgeous on nails!
Lilac Mascara is described as, a clear base filled with lavender stars, iridescent glitters and pastel glitters.
Here is Baby Blue Eyeliner. Factoid: this makes a great shade for your inner lash line to brighten your eyes!
Baby Blue Eyeliner is described as, a clear base filled with blue mini stars, iridescent glitters and pastel glitters.
Candy Lip Balm is a delicate glitter topper and will look great over any base coat of polish.
Candy Lip Balm is described as, a clear base filled with mini pink stars, iridescent glitters and pastel glitters.
And finally to complete the collection is Golden Honey Foundation.
Golden Honey Foundation is described as, a clear base filled with yellow mini stars, iridescent glitters and pastel glitters.
Remember, these are set for release on March 14th! Jamie explains, “This collection will be the same formula that is in their “It’s Snowing Cotton Candy” glitter topper”. The iridescent glitters that we used in these polishes create a thicker gel like formula. These toppers ARE TOTALLY GORGEOUS!” I have to agree. I know I’m not supposed to have favorites (not out loud) LOL but I LOVE the Lime Green Eyeshadow. What’s your fave?! Remember, Jamie also sells cool nail charms to complete your Fashion Makeover.
Thanks for reading and be sure to comment. I love hearing from you!

I have to say, even though our winter here in Missouri hasn’t been as bad as predicted, yet, I still count the days until spring. I can’t wait to see the crocus and the daffodils peeking out of the soil. And Zoya’s newest spring collection, Delight, reminds me of the first colors of spring. Blue Rayne, reminiscent of thick chunks of melting ice from a frozen waterfall, Daisy, that essential yellow that hearkens the latest days of a waning winter. Leslie, a lilac with turquoise flashes and Tiana, like the first virgin blades of new grass. Lillian is that kind of aquamarine that reminds me of shallow clear waters on the Florida Gulf coast beaches. And rosy pink Eden. Who could resist that fresh flower bursting forth on your nails? Let’s see what all the well-deserved fuss is about.
The Delight collection for Spring 2015, from top and then clockwise: Lillian, Tiana, Daisy, Leslie, Eden and Rayne.
Eden just beckons with her name! One look at this pink stunner and you’ll be heading for your springtime clothing drawer. For some reason it reminds me of some Gladiolas I have blooming in my yard spring and summer.
Eden by Zoya can be best described as a classic spring flower pink in a glossy cream finish. Super opaque, I used two coats. Color Family – Pink Finish – Cream Intensity – 5 ( 1 = Sheer – 5 = Opaque ) Tone – Cool
Rayne is one of those dreamy blues with all it’s flashes of light dancing off your nails.
Rayne by Zoya can be best described as a dewy, spring blue metallic with an energizing turquoise metallic flash. You HAVE to see this in person to appreciate the beautiful turquoise flash in a light room or sunshine. Even in the bottle it will take your breath away. Very hard to capture. I’ve included a photo of my nails in the sunshine and still couldn’t capture the flash of colored lights. But you’ll see them in person. This is on the thin side, and it will take 2-3 coats. I used two. Color Family – Blue Finish – Metallic Intensity – 5 ( 1 = Sheer – 5 = Opaque ) Tone – Cool
Here’s another shot of Rayne in the sun.
Here is Rayne in full sunlight. A bit easier to see that flash that is so extraordinary!
Next is cool Lillian. Super glossy!
Lillian by Zoya can be best described as a faded aquamarine with a glossy cream finish. Quite simply a perfect springtime light aquamarine. Do not confuse this with Zoya Blu. I held them up next to each other and they are very different. Two coats. Color Family – Blue Finish – Cream Intensity – 5 ( 1 = Sheer – 5 = Opaque ) Tone – Cool
Tiana just inspires me. Love this one to the moon and back!
Tiana by Zoya can be best described as a pistachio gelato green in a glossy cream finish. My fave of the three cremes. It inspired me to add a dash of springlike whimsy! Color Family – Green Finish – Cream Intensity – 5 ( 1 = Sheer – 5 = Opaque ) Tone – Cool
Daisy has some amazing flashes of turquoise as well. I’m not a huge yellow polish collector but this is a keeper for sure.
Daisy by Zoya can be best described as a refreshing lemon merengue yellow metallic with an energizing turquoise metallic flash. I used two coats and it is the same formula as the other two shimmers. 2-3 coats. Color Family – Yellow Finish – Metallic Intensity – 5 ( 1 = Sheer – 5 = Opaque ) Tone – Cool
And last is lovely Leslie. She reminds me of a tinted Easter egg! Actually now that I think about it, they all do!
Leslie by Zoya can be best described as a soft spring lavender metallic with an energizing turquoise flash. This one was on the more sheer side but not bad. I used two coats but I’ve heard some need three. It depends on your technique. Color Family – Purple Finish – Metallic Intensity – 5 ( 1 = Sheer – 5 = Opaque ) Tone – Cool
So, what do you think? Are you ready for flowers, the smell of fresh cut grass and spring’s first rainshower? Let me know which ones you’re picking up and why!
