Now that Spring is fully on deck, our nail lacquer lovers are seeking all things shiny and new. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Spring than freshly painted nails. One of my fave indie nail brands, ILNP has two 2016 polish collection you’ll crave. A couple of weeks ago I posted my review on the ILNP Spring Jellies and today I’ll present the Spring Collection. These babies all scream for the sun (which is why I shot most of the photos in the sun!). Let’s take a look!
Available NOW for $72/set or $10ea, except for the one on top left, Mayfield (an Ultra Chrome Flaky!) From top left and down: Mayfield, Daisy Jane, Deja Vu, Apricot Cream, Bulletproof Symphony, Skyscraper and Rolling Hills.
Let’s start with a somewhat nude but fully holographic stunner, Apricot Cream.
I just had to photograph most of these in the sun to show you the glorious sparkle! Apricot Cream is described as, “a deliciously unique nail polish with a milky rich finish. Perfectly accented with gold micro-flakes and uniformly fine holographic pigments, this tasty shade is the sophisticated dessert that your nails have been waiting for! Fully opaque in 2 to 3 coats!” I needed only 2 coats. $10.00
Deja Vu is an intense linear holo, the best kind!
Deja Vu is described as, “a beautifully refined linear holographic polish with a sophisticated wisteria violet hue that’s absolutely perfect for the season. Soft, subtle, and complemented with a precise amount of holographic pigment, Deja Vu will surely have you looking twice! Fully opaque in 2 to 3 coats!” I applied only 2 coats! $10.00
Rolling Hills, ahh, you can almost smell the dew on fresh-cut grass!
Rolling Hills is described as, “a refreshing, iced mint Ultra Metallic polish laced with an array of holographic micro flakes! Pay close attention and you’ll notice a subtle hint blue-to-teal, color traveling shimmer for a finish that’s to die for Rolling Hills is part of ILNP’s Ultra Metallics™ class of incredibly vivid metallic finish nail polishes; specifically formulated with various ultra-thin metallic flakes for a blinding sparkle with an undeniably rich finish and super-easy removal! Fully opaque in 2 to 3 coats!” I used two coats. $10.00
Sweet, petite and oh so feminine, Daisy Jane!
Daisy Jane is described as, “a dainty and soft baby pink polish with the perfect holographic sparkle! Daisy Jane’s holographic micro-flakes provide a wonderfully scattered holographic twinkle without compromising its delicate pink hue. Contrasted with a subtle amount of gold flakes and red shimmer, Daisy Jane is a perfect balance of delicate and breathtaking! Fully opaque in 2 to 3 coats!” I used 3 coats. $10.00
Major sparkle and long wearing Bulletproof Symphony.
Bulletproof Symphony is described as, “a super unique medium periwinkle Ultra Metallic polish loaded with silver flakes and an arsenal of holographic magic! Look even closer and you’ll catch an extra vivid red sparkle that gives this wonderful polish a seriously gorgeous twist! Bulletproof Symphony is part of ILNP’s Ultra Metallics™ class of incredibly vivid metallic finish nail polishes; specifically formulated with various ultra-thin metallic flakes for a blinding sparkle with an undeniably rich finish and super-easy removal! Fully opaque in 2 to 3 coats!” I got it opaque in 2 coats. $10.00
Drop dead gorgeous over any nail color or alone, Mayfield.
My sun photo was too intense to show you the gorgeous flakies the way I wanted. So this is in shade. Mayfield is described as, “a stunning combination of color-shifting Ultra Chrome Flakies. Mayfield features a gorgeous array of colors including purple, pink, green, gold, orange and turquoise! Use Mayfield as a topper over your favorite nail polish or brush on a few layers for full coverage. ILNP Ultra Chrome Flakies are fully opaque and can be worn alone or over any color without affecting the intense color shifting properties. Full coverage in 3 – 4 coats.” $12.50
Yes, big cities enjoy spring too! Here is Skyscraper.
Skyscraper is described as, “an amazingly tasty light periwinkle Ultra Holo with an insane finish! Step out into the sun and watch how this luxurious stunner sparkles like it’s stuffed with diamonds! Happy Spring to all you lovers of this seasons colors. I have two beautiful Spring ILNP collections to share with you which I will present one today and the other later in the week. Today’s collection is the ILNP Jelly Collection. Six super smooth, glossy and sparkly jellies to sink your teeth into. First, let me share with you a taste of springtime in Texas! The Bluebonnets are in bloom and a host of other glorious colors with Indian Paintbrush, wild Buttercups and the delicate, yet thorny Mesquite.
I shot this at my daughter’s farm. Central Texas countryside in the spring is a sight to behold!
And onto the ILNP Spring Jelly collection! They are all sheer to start and can be worn many ways, 2-4 coats for semi-sheer to fully opaque, sandwich them or whatever! All are smooth and glossy. They are $10ea or $60 for the ILNP Spring Jelly 2016 set.
The glorious ILNP Spring Jelly lineup. From top to bottom, left to right: Sweet Pea, Jello Shot, Sandy Baby, Valerie, Night Light and BFFs.
Let’s begin with Bffs. A grape jelly with tons of sparkle and personality.
I applied 3 easy coats of BFFs. BFF’s is described as “a tastily translucent concord grape jelly loaded with holographic goodness. The deep grape hue of BFF’s provides an amazing backdrop for our extremely vibrant holographic micro-flakes to go wild in the sun! Easily built up or sandwiched, the sheer formula of our jellies make way for our scattered holographic micro-flakes to work their magic all the way through each layer right down to your nails! The end result is a super crisp and sparkly finish with unmistakable depth. Fully opaque in 3 to 4 coats!”
Jello Shot in 3 coats. So glossy, it’s juicy! Jello Shot is described as “a deliciously juicy paradise pink jelly that packs a jaw-dropping holographic punch thanks to a generous assortment of oversized holographic goodness! You’ll find the glass-like translucency of Jello Shot lends itself to an incredible finish. Get ready to go nuts over the amazing depth and color saturation you can build with each coat!
Night Light! Who doesn’t need a bit of light and sparkle when the sun goes down?!
This is 3 coats. Remember, jellies dry super glossy and are sheer on the first coat. Really, this is nearly opaque enough to get away with 2 coats, depending on your free edge. Night Light is described as “a beautifully crisp deep blue-violet jelly loaded with holographic micro-flakes. This versatile holographic can be worn alone or paired with other shades for an incredibly unique custom shade!
Sandy Baby will compliment every skin tone and it’s oh so delicate.
Sandy Baby in 3 coats, a real blushing beauty. Sandy Baby is described as “a subtle and sophisticated peach beige jelly that is extremely versatile, super holographic and builds beautifully! A serious sheer knockout that can be worn over a base, by itself, sandwiched, or built up heavily for a jaw dropping manicure with incredible depth and a mind blowingly vivid holographic sparkle! Easily built up or sandwiched, the sheer formula of our jellies make way for our scattered holographic micro-flakes to work their magic all the way through each layer right down to your nails! The end result is a super crisp and sparkly finish with unmistakable depth. Fully opaque in 3 to 4 coats!” Here are a few fabulous facts for your shopping pleasure.
Valerie is a stunning shade that reminds me of pomegranate juice!
Valerie in 3 coats, 2 was nearly opaque for me. Valerie is described as “a stunning and incomparable mulberry leaning jelly that is a real show-stopper in any lighting. Build up to a few layers and prepare to be amazed at the deliciousness on your fingertips!
Sweet Pea, as fresh as the blooming flower it’s named after.
Sweet Pea in 3 coats! Super smooth. Sweet Pea is described as “a graceful and sweet seashell pink jelly that is incredibly versatile! This sheer stunner wears beautifully alone for a subtle pop of color with a glass-like shine and intense holographic sparkle or take it a step further and sandwich it with another favorite!
Conclusion: All six of these jellies were smooth as silk to apply. I recommend applying thin layers to maximize the dry time. I waited about 3 minutes after each coat. I have virtually no cleanup to do as these polishes apply without pooling and clean nicely to the brush. Every shade was super glossy, and the added sparkle set these jellies apart. I highly recommend this collection. I’d have loved to see a grass-green but maybe one is coming down the road. Love love love these!
Stay tuned as I have the other ILNP Spring Collection (7 in the set) coming this week. I can’t wait to show you!

New Zoya Petals collection is just my cup of tea. Delicate floral shades with hints of dew that shine like the morning sun. I received my swatch box while on vacation in Florida. In fact just a couple days after we left home. So you can imagine how anxious I was to open that box! But then again, being at our vacation home in Florida is pretty sweet too! Let’s take a look at these long-awaited beauties.
Zoya Petals is a delicate collection for spring 2016. Some of these seemed more pale in this photo than what you see in my swatches (those are more accurate). From top center and clockwise: Laurel, Leia, Tulip, Azalea, Aster, Zahara.
Let’s start with Laurel. So stunning and delicate at the same time.
Another favorite, Laurel in three coats. Laurel – ZP840: Warm pastel pink with the slightest hint of sheen to mimic a petal soft finish.
Leia is one of those shade shifting polishes that shine on their own (with multiple coats) or create cool illusions over other shades.
Here is Leia, a sheer beauty, 3 coats alone and one coat over Laurel. Leia – ZP835: Sheer opalescent white with flecks of fuchsia, green and gold.
Tulip, one of my favorite flowers. What a perfect name for this one!
Tulip in three coats. So delicate and surprising! Tulip – ZP839: Pure pastel salmon cream with the slightest hint of sheen to mimic a petal soft finish.
So hard to pick a favorite, but this one, Azalea, ranks high in my book.
Azalea is a MUST HAVE pink! Here she is in two coats. Azalea – ZP837: Classic spring pink with a captivating white and fuchsia flash.
Aster is a breathtaking periwinkle sparkler!
Aster in 2 coats. What a gorgeous lilac leaning periwinkle. Aster – ZP836: Fresh periwinkle with flecks of fuchsia to create a dewy finish, mimicking the look of spring flowers in the morning.
Zahara is now one of my favorite orange tones. And I have several.
Zahara here in three coats. Her sheer coral beauty is worth the extra coats. Zahara – ZP838: Brilliant shimmering coral made modern with an opalescent effect.
Conclusion: I love the shades and finishes in all six of this collection. Formulas were perfectly smooth, easy to apply and although half of them required three coats to full opacity for me, subsequent layers were no problem to apply. I would have liked to see at least one less orange/coral tone in the set, even though they were all gorgeous. I’d have liked to see a green, maybe a pale green with glass fleck to set off and cleanse the pallete. But, maybe some pretty greens are on our horizon!
ZOYA IS THE HEALTHY COLOR OF FASHION! (US) Available in top salons, spas and on zoya.com. These retails for $10ea or $60 for the whole set.
**BIG5FREE, TOXIN FREE: Zoya Nail Polish Formula contains no formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, dibutyl phthalate, toluene or camphor.
* These polishes were sent to me at no cost for review purposes. All opinions are my own and I was not compensated.
Andrea from Indigo Bananas sent me a beautiful selection of polishes from each season so I could show you the diversity of her products. Well, I ended up with seven, even though there are only four seasons. 😉 You know it’s like a potato chip, once you have one, it’s hard to stop! I was going to break up the post into two, but oh well, I couldn’t wait to show you. And she is having a grand sale right now. She’s going to be moving and rather busy (I know how she feels). Details below. In the meantime, let’s take a peak at what I have for you today. This should hold you over until her new collection comes to fruition!
From left, Land of Green Ginger from Spring 2015. And 3 creme neons from the summer 2015 Neon The 10th Element collection, the pink is named after the colection, Neon The 10th Element, then Carbon Dallas and Phlogiston Paradise! From left, Hole in The Sky from the Summer Rains collection, Shrieking Teals from Fall ’15, and Night Gathers from the Winter 2015 collection.
Let’s start with The Land of Green Ginger. This really pops for a pastel! See how that slides off the tongue? Popping pastel!
The Land of Green Ginger from the Spring 2015 collection is a cool minty teal green, buttery smooth teaming with glass flecks. Two coats here. It is described as: “Land of Green Ginger is a light, mint green creme packed with gold & gold to green colorshifting glass fleck (large size) shimmers, and scattered holo. Very flattering green! This polish is quite a bit lighter than Immortal Game, and a mint color, so quite a bit warmer than the medium teal of Immortal Game, in addition to having a different mix of shimmer.”
Nest up will be three gorgeous neons from the Neon The 10th Element collection. Starting with a brilliant pink named after the whole collection!
Neon The 10th Element is a brilliant, eye-popping Neon pink, and named after it’s collection from Indigo Bananas Summer 2015 release. It is described as: “Neon is the 10th Element – and is the brightest color in this collection. Eye searing hot pink. This color is bright hot pink with no yellow cast.”
Next up is Carbon Dallas. I love bright watery blues like this!
2 coats of this brilliant blue neon creme from Indigo Bananas Neon the 10th Element collection, Carbon Dallas. Of the three neons I’m presenting today, I left this one in its natural state, they all dry satiny/semi matte, so you can see the finish. It is described as: “a blue/light blue neon creme that is semi-matte/satiny finish with two coats recommended.”
Purple AND Neon? Yes please! Here is Phlogiston Paradise from the Neon The 10th Element collection.
Phlogiston Paradise from the Neon The 10th Element collection is a super opaque brilliant purple creme, 2 coats, as with all these. Just for a fun I included an accent nail using Hole In The Sky by Indigo Bananas. Somewhat because it looks cool. Plus if you ever saw (and appreciate the quirkiness of the film, The 5th Element) you can relate the “hole in the sky” reference. Stumped? Message me, LOL Anyway, it is described as: “Phlogiston Paradise is a purple creme; it leans more blue than other purple colors and is more violet-toned than royal purple-toned. Swatch as pictured is two coats with top coat. As a neon, this polish will try semi-matte and not totally shiny. A top coat is recommended but not needed; the polish will become shiny with a day of wear if shine is a concern.”
For the last three seasons, we have some Summer, Winter and Fall faves. Starting with Hole in The Sky from Summer Rains collex!
This one is GLORIOUS! Hole in the Sky from the Indigo Bananas Summer Rains collection in 2-3 coats. Great formula with tons of depth. It is described as: “The base of this color is a purple, but it is blue-leaning. The red to green shimmer and flakies in it give it a more purple cast. It photographs very blue in some lights (fluorescent) and with some cameras. At an angle the flakes & shimmer shift green, and the polish will appear bluer. The linear holo effect is subtle (in order to not wash out the shimmer), but should be present in the sun and direct light. Please apply three thin coats for ideal holographic effect (holo pigment is more linear when applied in a very thin layer).”
Everyone needs a teal holo, especially a linear! Here is Shrieking Teals from Fall.
Indigo Bananas Shrieking Teals from the Fall 2015 collection in two amazing coats. It is described as: “Shrieking Teals is a vibrant green leaning teal linear holographic. The holographic rainbow is slightly more subdued in this polish because of the vibrant color. Top coat affects the color of this polish a little bit – the polish is a deeper teal shade, it is shinier, and the holographic effect is a bit more pronounced but less linear. Multiple thinner coats tend to give stronger and deeper holographic effects. **Important notes**: The pigments in this polish have the possibility of staining. However, the staining is temporary and on the nail surface and can be removed or fades on it’s own. To remove such stains, the fastest method is with cuticle remover on top of the nail and light scrubbing. A base coat prevents staining. Top coat is recommended for this polish for increased shine, and a slightly stronger holo.”
And the last one is from Winter 2015, Night Gathers. Beautiful!
Gorgeous and sultry Night Gathers from Indigo Bananas Winter ’15 collection. Two coats here! It is described as: “Night Gathers is an inky blue leaning black linear holographic polish. Two coats for full coverage, top coat recommended and does not affect the holo flame. Multiple thinner coats tend to give stronger and deeper holographic effects compared to a single thicker coat.”
Conclusion: Loved all of these. The cool thing about neons, are they are bright and cheery. The coolest thing about these are you need no undies, no tighty whities! LOL They pop on their own. I highly recommend all these. No go shopping!
• Here is the info on the Anniversary/ (3 years old on 2/1!) Clearance/Moving sale (also posted on Indigo Bananas Facebook page)!
“Indigo Bananas will be closed from Feb 9 – end of the month (we may open sooner but this is the latest it’ll be closed to). We’re relocating to a new state, so it’s time to have an Anniversary & Clearance/Moving Sale! (Indigo Bananas turns 3 on Feb 1st!)
No discount code needed, nearly all items in the shop are 10-40% off starting now (ends Feb 7 end of day). Most polishes are 30-40% off, however, and it stacks with gift certs & shipping promos. (The IB shop will be closed Feb 8-end of month at the latest).
Items in the discontinued section will not be restocked until further notice. Restocks, and a new release, in early March include: Winter 2015 Game of Thrones inspired collection, Fall Holos, and then Spring ’15 pastels, and neons will be restocked first week in March (with new releases). Older colors will be restocked at a later date. Indigo Bananas is part of the Creme a la Mode box and the next one is set for early March, so that color is the next one out for us!
Shipping will be going out asap, same day on weekdays, and shipments CANNOT be combined once you get a tracking number, since I’m on a time crunch – sorry! 🙂 ****SHIPPING RATE CHANGES****
Shipping rates went up Jan 17, and I’ve adjusted them in the shop to match. Some rates are cheaper, some are more; mostly international is up. Shipping costs now cover a large weight range (8oz-32oz are the same for example!), so that’s why at some order weights it may seem less and sometimes more. Generally international is WAY up, US priority is WAY up, US first class is up for small amounts, and down for around 12-16oz.
IB has new shipping promos as a result:
* US free shipping over $50 (down from $60) (it’s actually way cheaper for me to ship first class)
* Canada – $5 flat rate above $100
* Mexico – $5 flat rate above $125
* Rest of World – $10 flat rate above $125
Wake up to these soft and easy-on-the-eyes shades from Vinylux Spring 2015 Flora & Fauna Weekly Polish Collection from CND. Colors and styles are inspired by watercolor impressions of luminous landscapes. I have to disclose immediately that every single one of these formulas are jaw-droppingly gorgeous. I’m not kidding! I would consider this collection sent to me by RPR Marketing a spring essential for salons everywhere and avid polish collectors in general.
Introducing CND Vinylux Weekly Polish (also available in Shellac) Spring 2015 Flora & Fauna Collection. This set of eight polishes include 4 creams, 2 glass fleck shimmers, and 2 pearly shimmers. Back row: Wild Moss (glass fleck), Salmon Run (cream), Thistle Thicket (cream) and Field Fox (cream). Front row: Creekside (cream), Blush Teddy (shimmer), Dandelion (pearl shimmer) and Fragrant Freesia (glass fleck).
CND describes this collection, available in these Weekly Polishes as well as Shellac as: “Moments of reflection as wildflowers sway in the soft morning breeze. Untouched meadows, nature’s retreat, sigh with tranquility.” They are available now.
“This season’s trends are all about unplugging from today’s digital world and embracing the simpler things. Sun-bleached tones and dreamy watercolor paintings emerge from the perfection of nature,” says CND Co-founder and Style Director Jan Arnold. “Nails are easy and softly squared – as wearable and simple as a barefoot stroll through the grass while finishes play with matte and shiny effects.”
I’d say that pretty much nails it! I couldn’t be happier with this breath of fresh air. Let’s take a look.
First up is Blush Teddy. I’m not sure what that implies 😉 But its gorgeous.
Blush Teddy is a cream with a super subtle shimmer.
I’m in love with Creekside! I guess because I love the water. But it’s a stunning pale blue.
Creekside is a pale blue cream with a great formula.
I wasn’t sure if I’d care much for Dandelion on my skin tone, but I think it’s one of my faves of the bunch.
Dandelion is a pale peachy pearly shimmer.
What a glorious neutral is Field Fox!
Field Fox is a beautiful taupey nude cream that reminds me of a milk chocolate drink.
Fragrant Freesia has a wonderful glass fleck effect that I love in polishes!
Fragrant Freesia is a gorgeous glass fleck shimmer polish with a superb formula, just like Wild Moss, two coats.
Even though Salmon Run was streakier in application on the 1st coat, it nicely corrected itself on the second, and still needed a third. But it turned out nice and I love this shade!
Salmon run is the only 3-coater in the set of creams but the gorgeously peachy payoff is worth it.
Thistle Thicket is one of those must-have greys that tend to go with everything! This would be a wonderful polish for the workplace, but also as a base for nail art. It’s got a touch of blue/lavender to it which makes it adaptable.
Thistle Thicket is another fabulous formula. A pale neutral, a greyed out blue/lilac is opaque in two coats.
I LOVE this Wild Moss with it’s glass flecks and shimmer!
Wild Moss is the other silver glass fleck shimmer. Great formula in two coats, super easy!
And just for fun, I played around with a bit of springtime nail art of Wild Moss.
Here is a little nail art, a spring tree in bloom, using four of the Flora & Fauna collection, Wild Moss, Salmon Run, Field Fox and Creekside.

I have to say, even though our winter here in Missouri hasn’t been as bad as predicted, yet, I still count the days until spring. I can’t wait to see the crocus and the daffodils peeking out of the soil. And Zoya’s newest spring collection, Delight, reminds me of the first colors of spring. Blue Rayne, reminiscent of thick chunks of melting ice from a frozen waterfall, Daisy, that essential yellow that hearkens the latest days of a waning winter. Leslie, a lilac with turquoise flashes and Tiana, like the first virgin blades of new grass. Lillian is that kind of aquamarine that reminds me of shallow clear waters on the Florida Gulf coast beaches. And rosy pink Eden. Who could resist that fresh flower bursting forth on your nails? Let’s see what all the well-deserved fuss is about.
The Delight collection for Spring 2015, from top and then clockwise: Lillian, Tiana, Daisy, Leslie, Eden and Rayne.
Eden just beckons with her name! One look at this pink stunner and you’ll be heading for your springtime clothing drawer. For some reason it reminds me of some Gladiolas I have blooming in my yard spring and summer.
Eden by Zoya can be best described as a classic spring flower pink in a glossy cream finish. Super opaque, I used two coats. Color Family – Pink Finish – Cream Intensity – 5 ( 1 = Sheer – 5 = Opaque ) Tone – Cool
Rayne is one of those dreamy blues with all it’s flashes of light dancing off your nails.
Rayne by Zoya can be best described as a dewy, spring blue metallic with an energizing turquoise metallic flash. You HAVE to see this in person to appreciate the beautiful turquoise flash in a light room or sunshine. Even in the bottle it will take your breath away. Very hard to capture. I’ve included a photo of my nails in the sunshine and still couldn’t capture the flash of colored lights. But you’ll see them in person. This is on the thin side, and it will take 2-3 coats. I used two. Color Family – Blue Finish – Metallic Intensity – 5 ( 1 = Sheer – 5 = Opaque ) Tone – Cool
Here’s another shot of Rayne in the sun.
Here is Rayne in full sunlight. A bit easier to see that flash that is so extraordinary!
Next is cool Lillian. Super glossy!
Lillian by Zoya can be best described as a faded aquamarine with a glossy cream finish. Quite simply a perfect springtime light aquamarine. Do not confuse this with Zoya Blu. I held them up next to each other and they are very different. Two coats. Color Family – Blue Finish – Cream Intensity – 5 ( 1 = Sheer – 5 = Opaque ) Tone – Cool
Tiana just inspires me. Love this one to the moon and back!
Tiana by Zoya can be best described as a pistachio gelato green in a glossy cream finish. My fave of the three cremes. It inspired me to add a dash of springlike whimsy! Color Family – Green Finish – Cream Intensity – 5 ( 1 = Sheer – 5 = Opaque ) Tone – Cool
Daisy has some amazing flashes of turquoise as well. I’m not a huge yellow polish collector but this is a keeper for sure.
Daisy by Zoya can be best described as a refreshing lemon merengue yellow metallic with an energizing turquoise metallic flash. I used two coats and it is the same formula as the other two shimmers. 2-3 coats. Color Family – Yellow Finish – Metallic Intensity – 5 ( 1 = Sheer – 5 = Opaque ) Tone – Cool
And last is lovely Leslie. She reminds me of a tinted Easter egg! Actually now that I think about it, they all do!
Leslie by Zoya can be best described as a soft spring lavender metallic with an energizing turquoise flash. This one was on the more sheer side but not bad. I used two coats but I’ve heard some need three. It depends on your technique. Color Family – Purple Finish – Metallic Intensity – 5 ( 1 = Sheer – 5 = Opaque ) Tone – Cool
So, what do you think? Are you ready for flowers, the smell of fresh cut grass and spring’s first rainshower? Let me know which ones you’re picking up and why!
