Glitter Lambs new 2014 Christmas glitters, set 2!

Yesterday I posted the first of 8 Glitter Lambs 2014 Christmas glitter toppers. What fun I’m having with these. The very names inspire creativity. Well, as much as I can muster before I’ve even entered my chilly attic to bring out my Christmas decorations. Believe me, this is a lot easier than dragging out 20 crates and boxes of holiday joy! I love it when I get all that festive decor put up and I can sit by the fire, and breathe a sigh of accomplishment. All the blood, sweat and tears are worth the final outcome. Then everyone else gets to sit with me and say, “Beautiful! I love all the pretty lights and manger scenes and look at that tree! Wow, we should leave it up all year!” I have to admit, inside my head a bit of Ebenezer eeks out a tiny grumble as I contemplate running a hot bath. But you know what? I truly don’t do it for the compliments or the pat on the back. Sorry to say, I’m a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to decking the halls. I do it because I’m celebrating Christmas! Well, looks like I veered off track. I get this way this time of year. 😉 So on with this glitter train and the rest of the polishes!

First up, Pink Gingerbread House. It’s a beauty and could really be used any time of year. I had to forgo the recreation of a gingerbread house on my nail. I know my artistic limits! 😉

Pink Gingerbread House reminds me of a home in Whoville! It just makes me happy!

Pink Gingerbread House is described as, “This is almost similar to our “Unicorns Love Cotton Candy” polish except this has Gold holographic hearts, mini pink stars and iridescent glitter in it. So if you own “Unicorns Love Cotton Candy” then this is going to look a lot like it if you put them side by side. But trust me there is some different glitters in this. This is loaded with so many different glitters. It has red, blue, green tiny hex glitters, pink hex from medium to very tiny, and some gold hex in many different sizes. This will come with a small baggie (1/4 tsp) of small mini pink stars and a baggie of (1/4 tsp) holographic hearts for glitter placement. This would look amazing without the hearts and stars on the nail as well. It would be very easy to leave these off and just have the smaller glitters on your nail.”

Well, I’m praying this Artic blast that just hit us won’t bring a snow storm, so let’s just keep the Snow Storm on our nails, shall we?!

Snow Storm is another "must-have" for those holiday manis.

Snow Storm is another essential for that snowy effect when you do those wintery manis. The clear base is full, really full, of matte white shreds.

Pink Christmas Sugar Cookie. It’s loaded with teeny tiny pink sprinkles!

Pink Christmas Sugar Cookie is described as, “This Christmas I decided to make some really simple glitter toppers that would look great with so many different colors. I came up with this solid pink glitter topper that has only 1 type of glitter in it. It is filled with .008 pink glitter. You should get quite a bit of glitter on your brush with one coat. This almost looks like sprinkled sugar on the nail. I love this color and I love how it only has one glitter in it. You can really see the texture in the picture. You could add a coat of iridescent glitter over this and really make it sparkle.

Pink Christmas Sugar Cookie makes me want to bake some sugar cookies and sprinkle on pink candy!

And here’s a fun one. Maybe even my favorite! Don’t Touch My Candy Cane Milkshake.

Don't Touch My Candy Cane Milkshake is exactly what every Christmas mani needs. In fact, when you get yours, I'd love to see your ideas. Post the on Instagram and be sure to tag me and Jamie too! #lacqueredlori and #glitterlambs

Don’t Touch My Candy Cane Milkshake. Yum, that sounds delicious doesn’t it!? I would describe it as a clear based glitter topper full of micro matte white glitters, small red glitters, small and medium red squares, red mini bars, large white matte hexes, small white hexes and maybe more! So much in one bottle. Love this!

Don't Touch My Candy Cane Milkshake is a great formula, and it's loaded with red and white goodies!

Aaaand the holidays are upon us, and so are the wonderful Christmas nail polish collections. It’s a great time of year to collect indie polishes as they are SO creative! Glitter Lambs polishes never disappoint and Jamie’s 2014 collections are amazing. Since I have eight to share with you and a lot of graphics, I’ll break this up into two posts with four polishes each. These polishes can be ordered now for a mere $4.94 each! Wowza 🙂

Here are the first four I'll be sharing with you! From left: SnowBall, Christmas In The Desert, It's Snowing Cotton Candy, Christmas Jelly Roll

You HAVE to have snowy glitters in your winter polish arsenal, even for the simplest holiday mani. First up is SnowBall!

Snowball

SnowBall is a clear based glitter topper of very concentrated white matte micro glitters. Perfect for adding a snow effect to that wintery mani! I’d say it’s an essential!

I’ve never spent “Christmas In The Desert” but if I did, it’d be cool if it looked like this!

Christmas In The Desert is a multicolored glitter topper with various sizes of glitters from micro to large hexagons, in shades of red, silver, holographic, green, gold, light blue. It is stunning and perfect whether used as a gradient or for special effects.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if it really DID snow cotton candy? “It’s Snowing Cotton Candy” must have been inspired by Jamie’s love for sweets! LOL JK Jamie, I crave it too! 😉

It's Snowing Cotton Candy is so lovely and delicate it will melt in your mouth! Oh, wait, you can't eat it, it just LOOKS delicious.

It’s Snowing Cotton Candy is described as, “This is a clear base filled with mini pink stars and different sizes and shapes of iridescent glitter. 1 coat will give you very little stars. 3 coats will obviously be more. * If you would like a small baggie of pink glitter stars to come with this then please message me in the notes when you buy this. *You could easily leave the mini pink stars off and this could create a whole new look with just iridescent glitter on the nail. It’s up to you on how you do your mani but you can pull off two gorgeous looks with this glitter topper that is with or without stars. This is one stunning glitter topper!”

And the last of my first four Glitter Lambs Christmas polishes for 2014 is Christmas Jelly Roll!

Christmas Jelly Roll!

Christmas Jelly Roll!

Of course, although I’m not really an artist, but I gave it my best shot painting a jelly roll on my accent nail. I think it’s got raspberry filling!

I painted Christmas Jelly Roll over Sally Hansen Sugar Shimmer in Sugar Plum.

And finally, Christmas Jelly Roll up close and yummy! Christmas Jelly Roll is described as, “a clear base filled with so many glitters. Every time you pull the brush out of the bottle you will get something different. This has pink hex in a .008 saturated throughout the entire bottle with some scattered silver dots, hex in different sizes and colors such blue, green, red, blue, then there is a gold and silver hex mix in different sizes. There is also a black and silver mix in many different sizes, lime green shreds, pink holographic squares, pink and red mix of many different sizes, and then some iridescent rainbow glitters throughout.”

Chloe & Bella 3-Part Series! Part I

Indie polish makers are an awesome kind of special people. Number one, they are so creative out the wazoo…and number two, they inspire us as nail bloggers and shoppers. I recently discovered Chloe & Bella via some Instagram posts by a phenominal blogger, Kirby, “The Mercurial Magpie”. Kirby is the kind of blogger we all aspire to be. Honest, talented and oh so blessed. When she’s impressed with a polish, my ears perk up!

Barbara is the owner/creator of Chloe & Bella and I received nine polishes to swatch and review. Of course when I open my swatch mail I immediately check my bottles and open each one to make sure they are okay. I could tell these were going to be great formulas even before they went on the nail. The first three I’ll be posting today are:

Christmas in July with Evergreen, Crimson and Snow.

Christmas in July with Evergreen, Crimson and Snow.

I love how these three remind me of Christmas! I know, it’s the end of July, but I figured you might want to shop early 😉 Here is a swatch of gorgeous Evergreen. Barbara describes Evergreen like this. “Evergreen is a cool green duochrome with a bright shift between green and silver. Thrown in for good measure is a healthy heaping of shimmering white flakies.  The flakies add just a touch of sparkle when hit with direct lighting.” I used one coat over a blackened deep green and it’s stunning! I just wanted to be different, and she suggests using it over black to bring out the strongest flashes of color. Either way, you’ll be impressed with this one. It’s sheer in one coat and suggested to use three coats when used on it’s own with no undies. The formula is smooth and perfect. No flooding.

I'm not the best artist, but I try. What could be simpler than an evergreen twig?!

I’m not the best artist, but I try. What could be simpler than an evergreen twig?!

Next we have Crimson. Such a perfect, classy, true red!

To me, this is perfect for a Christmas red. It's glossy too!

To me, this is perfect for a Christmas red. It’s glossy too!

Barbara describes Crimson like this. “Crimson is the classic, romantic, deep red that evokes passion and love…a true red…a semi-sheer at one coat (almost a hot pink) and opaque (deep gorgeous red) at two coats.” I would have to say this glossy sexy red dress red is almost jelly like in texture. Very pigmented for  a jelly though! Love this perfect red.

And the last for this post (stay tuned I have six more to go!), Snow. Now, if you live in a part if the country where you’re dreaming of the white stuff, this may cool you off!

Snow may be used alone or a coat over white. I managed one coat over white undies, but my pinky nail has three coats alone over the bare nail. You can better see this way that it is a winter white and oh so shimmery. Snow may be used alone or a coat over white.

Barbara describes Snow like this. “Snow is a light and feminine, slightly off-white, cream polish. Tons of micro small white, opalescent, and rainbow pearl glitters create that same shimmer that you see in snow on a sunny day.” On my pinky you can see I used three coats on the bare nail, where I used one coat over single white undies for a more pronounced look. It’s medium coverage, a bit thicker than the other two. It’s a slightly off-white shimmery cream. Sort of winter white I’d say!

Grabbing a quote from Barbara’s “about” page on her site, she says this about her inspiration behind the business, “Nail polish is an obsession that started a little later in life for me than it does for most ladies, but that does not make the obsession any less heartfelt or passionate. Glitter (or ANYTHING sparkly) has always been a huge draw for me from the earliest days of childhood. That draw never lessened as life moved along. One day while surfing the internet, I discovered a new-to-me trend: nail art. Wow…this was something that I could really dig into and enjoy!” I think even polish enthusiasts, bloggers and polish hoarders can relate.
