Ready for summer to hit your tips and toes? CND Vinylux Weekly Polish and Shellacs have a brand new collection called Flirtations. I swatched all eight of the Weekly Polish set and I’ll share them with you today!

The new spring lineup from CND Vinylux Weekly Polish, here is Flirtations! Eight stunning shades, from L to R, back row: Skin Tease, Aqua-intance, Pink Pursuit, Desert Poppy, Lavender Lace and Date Night. Bottom row, R and L: Be Demure and Honey Darlin'.

Bat your lashes, blow a kiss, bare some skin. Soft blushes of color tease the imagination. Coy. Confident. Playful. Be irresistible.

There’s an electricity of unspoken attraction in the air for Summer 2016. Evoke a subtle, sensual femininity with the new Flirtation Collection from CND. A palette of soft yet bright shades teases at the imagination and makes this collection equal parts coy, confident, and playful.

“This season, sweet, creamy pastels are inspired by modern lace and embroidery for a delicate and refined glamour,” says CND Co-founder and Style Director Jan Arnold. “The summer nail is a slim oval glazed with tender shades of coral and lilac, blushed with the spark of deepening allure. Flirtation’s summer code allows you to be irresistible.”

Let’s start with the watery shades. Because you know blues are cool! Here is Aqua-intance.

Aqua-intance is an aqua creme that is smooth and ultra glossy. This is 2 coats.

CND Vinylux Holiday 2015 AURORA Collection

I have the good fortune of blogging for RPR Marketing. They promote CND salon products including their long-wearing Weekly Polish System and even longer-wearing Shellac. I’m rarely disappointed in Vinylux collections and always welcome their arrival! Today I’ll be sharing the new CND Vinylux Holiday 2015 Aurora collection.

As CND so eloquently states, “Discover the beauty of the Arctic tundra with the NEW Holiday 2015 Aurora collection from CND. Colors crystallize into shimmering frozen pastels and surreal glacial hues. This holiday season, nail trends capture a crystalline essence with icy, glistening finishes,” says CND Co-founder and Style Director Jan Arnold. “Shapes range from the elegantly slender almond to a naturally subtle square, with shimmer that evokes the glint of sun setting across the snow.”

Let’s take a look at these four frozen beauties! First up is Winter Glow.

Winter Glow, a cream pastel pink in a perfect creamy formula. 3 coats for full opacity. Now this is a perfect blushing pink!

And from that glisteny spectrum of colors in the night, Nordic Lights.

This pink is a throwback to my younger days of frosty pastel pinks, Tundra.

Tundra, a delicate dusty rose metallic. Not too bad for streaking as some metallics will do. 2 coats here. Not my favorite, beautiful polish, great formula. But I wore so many polishes like this in my teens. Did I just date myself?!

And no winter collection is complete without a frost cool blue stunner, Glacial Mist.

Conclusion: I really like this collection. My favorite of the collection is Nordic Lights. I’m a sucker for plumy purples, jelly bases and holo! And frosty pale pinks are pretty, but sort of old school. I’d have like to have seen a near black/blue jelly with tiny holo sparkles instead. Sort of like the midnight sky with lights twinkling. But that’s just me. All the formulas were great! Just a little hiccup and I’m sure a very rare anomaly, I did have one funky brush…and a solution should you encounter one with any polish.

Had a bit of an issue with the brush from Glacial Mist. Very rare finding in CND brushes. You see here I wiped off most of the wet polish from the brush, but even fully loaded with polish those little buggers wanted to poke out everywhere. Easy fix, cuticle scissors are better used to fix wonky brushes than cutting precious cuticles!

CND Vinylux Weekly Polish collection “Contradictions” pt. 3

Today’s post is the final installment of my review and swatches of CND VINYLUX Weekly Polish collection (also available in Shellac), Contradictions. It has been a joy to play with these fabulous polishes. Highly pigmented and application-perfect, this set of fall shades is impressive. Here are the final four, Tartan Punk, Peacock Plume, Safety Pin and Poison Plum!

I had a little fun with a Tartan design on my accent nail using red Tartan Punk, a 1-2 coater, deep shimmery blue Peacock Plume and a touch of chromey Safety Pin.

Here’s a fun “did you know” moment! According to Wikipedia, Tartan is a pattern consisting of criss-crossed horizontal and vertical bands in multiple colours. Tartans originated in woven wool, but now they are made in many other materials. Tartan is particularly associated with Scotland. Scottish kilts almost always have tartan patterns. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tartan

And finally, Poison Plum and Safety Pin to finish out this sassy set of Contradictions!

Poison Plum is hard to capture it deep plum jelly shade with it's red glitters within, but believe me, it's not black! Which is why I included a sunshine shot. 1-2 coats for full opacity. Safety pin is a gorgeous metallic chrome with a slight golden tint in the right light. 1-2 coats.

Spring 2015 Flora & Fauna Collection by Vinylux

Wake up to these soft and easy-on-the-eyes shades from Vinylux Spring 2015 Flora & Fauna Weekly Polish Collection from CND. Colors and styles are inspired by watercolor impressions of luminous landscapes. I have to disclose immediately that every single one of these formulas are jaw-droppingly gorgeous. I’m not kidding! I would consider this collection sent to me by RPR Marketing a spring essential for salons everywhere and avid polish collectors in general.

Introducing CND Vinylux Weekly Polish (also available in Shellac) Spring 2015 Flora & Fauna Collection. This set of eight polishes include 4 creams, 2 glass fleck shimmers, and 2 pearly shimmers. Back row: Wild Moss (glass fleck), Salmon Run (cream), Thistle Thicket (cream) and Field Fox (cream). Front row: Creekside (cream), Blush Teddy (shimmer), Dandelion (pearl shimmer) and Fragrant Freesia (glass fleck).

Back row: Wild Moss (glass fleck), Salmon Run (cream), Thistle Thicket (cream) and Field Fox (cream). Front row: Creekside (cream), Blush Teddy (shimmer), Dandelion (pearl shimmer) and Fragrant Freesia (glass fleck).

CND describes this collection, available in these Weekly Polishes as well as Shellac as: “Moments of reflection as wildflowers sway in the soft morning breeze. Untouched meadows, nature’s retreat, sigh with tranquility.” They are available now.

“This season’s trends are all about unplugging from today’s digital world and embracing the simpler things. Sun-bleached tones and dreamy watercolor paintings emerge from the perfection of nature,” says CND Co-founder and Style Director Jan Arnold. “Nails are easy and softly squared – as wearable and simple as a barefoot stroll through the grass while finishes play with matte and shiny effects.”

I’d say that pretty much nails it! I couldn’t be happier with this breath of fresh air. Let’s take a look.

First up is Blush Teddy. I’m not sure what that implies 😉 But its gorgeous.

Blush Teddy is a cream with a super subtle shimmer.

I’m in love with Creekside! I guess because I love the water. But it’s a stunning pale blue.

I wasn’t sure if I’d care much for Dandelion on my skin tone, but I think it’s one of my faves of the bunch.

What a glorious neutral is Field Fox!

Fragrant Freesia has a wonderful glass fleck effect that I love in polishes!

Fragrant Freesia is a gorgeous glass fleck shimmer polish with a superb formula, just like Wild Moss, two coats.

Even though Salmon Run was streakier in application on the 1st coat, it nicely corrected itself on the second, and still needed a third. But it turned out nice and I love this shade!

Salmon run is the only 3-coater in the set of creams but the gorgeously peachy payoff is worth it.

Thistle Thicket is one of those must-have greys that tend to go with everything! This would be a wonderful polish for the workplace, but also as a base for nail art. It’s got a touch of blue/lavender to it which makes it adaptable.

Thistle Thicket is another fabulous formula. A pale neutral, a greyed out blue/lilac is opaque in two coats.

I LOVE this Wild Moss with it’s glass flecks and shimmer!

And just for fun, I played around with a bit of springtime nail art of Wild Moss.

CND® Summer 2015 Garden Muse Collection

I was sent the “Weekly Polishes” of the CND® Summer 2015 Garden Muse Collection for review from RPR and these gorgeous shades do not disappoint. The set of six (also available in 14-day wear Shellac) consist of three cremes, two shimmers, and a shimmery metallic glitter mix. Let’s take a look!

The cremes in this collection from L to R: Wisteria Haze, Crushed Rose and Reflecting Pool.

The rest of the collection from L to R: Beckoning Begonia, Lost Labyrinth and Butterfly Queen.
The rest of the collection from L to R: Beckoning Begonia, Lost Labyrinth and Butterfly Queen.

I’ll start with the three perfect cremes! Each of these formulas went on smooth and opaque, 1-2 buttery coats, depending on your technique. They dry fast and glossy and the brush is perfect.

Wisteria Haze:

Wisteria Haze (I used one coat) is a medium Wisteria/lilac creme. Gorgeous!

Crushed Rose is a cool rosey medium pink creme. I didn't want to take this one off!

Reflecting Pool is a cerulean blue, aqua, Caribbean blue creme. It's just perfect!

On to the shimmers/glitter!

Beckoning Begonia is a shimmery pale lavender. It's on the slightly thick side although the first coat went on streaky. I applied a second coat to smooth out the polish and it dried slightly slower than the fast drying cremes. This was the only one of the six that fought me with it's weird formula. But the outcome is gorgeous!

Lost Labyrinth is also a shimmer but not as thick as Beckoning Begonia so application was easier and quicker drying time. I did this in two coats. It's a cool aqua/teal shade, perfect for those mermaidy nail looks!

Butterfly Queen is a cool toned brilliant pink, almost hot, but very complex. Drying time was less than I expected with it's mix of shimmer and glitter. Just the right mix of pink glitter so it's not overly textured and overpowering. I used two coats.

Overall I really like this collection. The cremes are my favorite and I’m really impressed with the drying time. These Weekly polishes wear well (when I get the chance to leave them on more than a couple of days). Both versions, Weekly and Shellac are available for purchase now!

CND Shellac Nourishing Remover review

Before I post my review and swatches of the 2015 Garden Muse collection of “Weekly” polishes by CND Vinylux, I wanted to share with you the fabulous polish and shellac remover included in my product review box! Now I go through a lot of removers (s). I swatch nearly daily and at times have swatched up to about a dozen polish changes in a day (and on some occasions more!) That mounts up to a lot of remover friends! And that much remover has got to take a toll on a nail polish reviewer’s precious fingertips. I have a bevy of removers, cuticle oils and balms…and cotton! But when I opened the box to see this unexpected and very much appreciated surprise of the CND remover, I was both nervous and happy at the same time. Here is a photo of the product before I further explain.

"CND Shellac Power Polish Nourishing Remover removes Shellac Polish up to 20% faster than pure acetone whilst softening and moisturising the nails and the skin. A pleasant English Cucumber fragrance elevates the removal process by disguising chemical odors."
“CND Shellac Power Polish Nourishing Remover removes Shellac Polish up to 20% faster than pure acetone whilst softening and moisturising the nails and the skin. A pleasant English Cucumber fragrance elevates the removal process by disguising chemical odors.”

Okay, I can’t hold back any longer. I flippin’ love this stuff! Oh my gosh. First it’s very emolliating. You can feel it because as you apply the tiniest amount to your cotton ball you can tell how slick it is, but not actually oily. Then up wafts a truly pleasant scent of cucumber and what smells to me like vanilla, but just slightly. But that’s just me because there is no vanilla essence in there. I have gone through many standard removers from the drug store and no matter what they claim to be scented with, all I smell is acetone. I may even have brain damage! lol, Just kidding. I haven’t yet tried it with a glitter bomb but I am fully confident it is up for the task.

Normally I apply remover to small pieces of cotton ball (which I shred enough to cover five nails), then place on each nail on one hand. By the time I get back to the thumbnail (considering this is normal polish, not a loaded glitter bomb), I should fairly easily remover all the polish. Not always possible with drug store acetone/acetone complex. With the CND brand which I have noted may be used on their long wear shellacs and weekly polishes, etc., the remover was nearly ready to remove my polish by the time I got to the next nail! I kid you not, this stuff is the bomb! Here are the factoids provided by the manufacturer. I’m expecially excited about the prospect of improving my natural nail color. Destaining is a pain!

CND Shellac Nourishing Remover is a professional nail polish remover specially formulated to remove gel polish, Shellac and gel powders with ease.

Specially formulated with Vitamin E and Macadamia Nut Oil, Shellac Nourishing Remover reduces dehydration of the nails and the surrounding skin whilst eliminating nail imperfections such as whiteness and discolouration.

WHAT IT DOES
Removes CnD Shellac, removable gels, nail polish, liquid & powder, wraps, adhesives and tips from natural nails.
• Reduces dehydration of nails and surrounding skin
and eliminates the appearance of whiteness.
• Removes Shellac 20% faster than pure acetone.
FEATURED INGREDIENTS & BENEFITS
Macadamia Nut Oil:

English Cucumber Fragrance
:
Pleasant fragrance elevates the service experience by masking chemical odors.”

So there you have it. Thank you Albany for including this great product to test. You must have had a feeling I needed it and to get the word out there. Remember, you don’t have to be a pro to buy it so do your homework and shop for this fab stuff! How about you? Have you tried it? Thoughts?

CND Shellac Nourishing Remover comes in 8 and 32 oz. bottles, and are available at professional beauty supplies, CND.com and online stores. Price range is approximately on par with Zoya Remove+.
