CND® Summer 2015 Garden Muse Collection

I was sent the “Weekly Polishes” of the CND® Summer 2015 Garden Muse Collection for review from RPR and these gorgeous shades do not disappoint. The set of six (also available in 14-day wear Shellac) consist of three cremes, two shimmers, and a shimmery metallic glitter mix. Let’s take a look!

The cremes in this collection from L to R: Wisteria Haze, Crushed Rose and Reflecting Pool.

The rest of the collection from L to R: Beckoning Begonia, Lost Labyrinth and Butterfly Queen.

I’ll start with the three perfect cremes! Each of these formulas went on smooth and opaque, 1-2 buttery coats, depending on your technique. They dry fast and glossy and the brush is perfect.

Wisteria Haze:

Wisteria Haze (I used one coat) is a medium Wisteria/lilac creme. Gorgeous!

Crushed Rose is a cool rosey medium pink creme. I didn't want to take this one off!

Reflecting Pool is a cerulean blue, aqua, Caribbean blue creme. It's just perfect!

On to the shimmers/glitter!

Beckoning Begonia is a shimmery pale lavender. It's on the slightly thick side although the first coat went on streaky. I applied a second coat to smooth out the polish and it dried slightly slower than the fast drying cremes. This was the only one of the six that fought me with it's weird formula. But the outcome is gorgeous!

Lost Labyrinth is also a shimmer but not as thick as Beckoning Begonia so application was easier and quicker drying time. I did this in two coats. It's a cool aqua/teal shade, perfect for those mermaidy nail looks!

Butterfly Queen is a cool toned brilliant pink, almost hot, but very complex. Drying time was less than I expected with it's mix of shimmer and glitter. Just the right mix of pink glitter so it's not overly textured and overpowering. I used two coats.

Overall I really like this collection. The cremes are my favorite and I’m really impressed with the drying time. These Weekly polishes wear well (when I get the chance to leave them on more than a couple of days). Both versions, Weekly and Shellac are available for purchase now!

ILNP NEW Ultra Chrome Flakies are Holographic!

Today I have the first of 3 installments featuring the new collection of Ultra Chrome Flakies polishes. The original baker’s dozen contained 13 UCFs in the last release and now they are holofied! So original names but blasted with holographic sparkle! Plus 4 new shades 2/reg + 2/holo. I’ll share 3-4 polishes in each of these posts so I don’t overload you with too many graphics! And just like the new spring collection I just shared (a total of 10) these too will be available for pre-order on March 6th. Here we go!

Ultra Chrome Flakies (H) You know ILNP (I Love Nail Polish) LOVES polish when they can create such massive collections! Each one a winner.

I’ll go ahead and start with the first two of four brand new UCFs (Ultra Chrome Flakies), Ice House and Ice House (H)!

Brand new shade called Ice House. And it's a frosty blue flakie with color shifts from mediterranean blue to aqua/teal to purple, with a bit of bronze and purple. Here I painted one light coat of CND Vinylux Reflecting pool from the 2015 Garden Muse collection. On the accent finger straight up 2 coats of Ice House on the bare nail!

You know IH has to have a holographic sister, Ice House (H)! Here she is.

Ice House (H) is the holographic version of it's sister, Ice House. It's even more sparkly with all that holo thrown in. I painted one thin layer over black. I with the sun had been out the day I shot this. It's blindingly gorgeous in the sun.

What is your vegan/cruelty free policy?
ILNP absolutely does not test our products on animals nor do we purchase materials from suppliers that do. We make a conscious effort to avoid purchasing animal/insect derived materials like carmine and guanine/pearl, etc. as there are plenty of synthetic alternatives that perform the same or even better.

Are your nail polishes 3-Free?
Yes! All ILNP nail polishes are 3 free! They DO NOT contain Toluene, Formaldehyde, or Dibutyl Phthalate.

What does 3-Free mean?
3-Free means that our nail polishes do not contain Toluene, Formaldehyde, or Dibutyl Phthalate. These 3 ingredients were previously used in most nail polish formulations until recent studies found them to be potentially harmful or irritable to humans. While these chemicals aren’t illegal to use in nail polish (although California law requires special labeling if used), most large brands have already moved to 3-Free formulas at the urge of educated consumers as well as organizations that campaign for safe cosmetics.”

SquareHue Decades Collection 1900 for 01.15

I’m so excited to present my review of the 2015 Decades collections for SquareHue. They’ve started out with a bang and some pretty buttery smooth shades with the January box, 1900. I love how the included description cards now have a swatch box that you can apply a sample of it’s corresponding shade. There is even enough room for a notation of how many coats you need for each shade. And on the back of the card there is a paragraph of history to give you a sense of what that decade was like. Very clever! Let’s take a look.

SquareHue presents the beginning of what looks like to be a fabulous year of the 2015 Decades Collection. 1900 is the collection for 01.15 with Gibson Girl, First Flight and Victorian End.
SquareHue presents the beginning of what looks like to be a fabulous year of the 2015 Decades Collection. 1900 is the collection for 01.15 with Gibson Girl, First Flight and Victorian End.

Here is the first shade, Gibson Girl, which applied in full opacity in two buttery smooth coats. The first coat had me a bit concerned as it was a bit streaky, but it leveled out quickly, and the second coat brought it all together. I used the two other shades for the accent nail just for fun.

Gibson Girl is a delicate mauvey rose in a high gloss creme. 1900 was the heyday of the Gibson girl fashion with it's fluffy topknots and broach clipped high collar lace blouses.

Reminiscent (and this is what this year’s collections are all about, reminiscing) of the dawn of human flight, First Flight is a nice pale grey. 2015 does seem to be the year of greys and this one is very palatable.

First Flight is a high gloss creme with a hint of shimmer. This is three coats and applies buttery smooth. This one celebrates the launch of the Wright bros. flying machine on December 17, 1903.

Last we have Victorian End. With the death of UK’s Queen Victoria in 1901, the world would soon see itself at war only 13 post. Fashion and attitude did find itself skipping across the pond to the United States and we truly saw the end of the Victorian age. But enough of history! Here is a pleasant purple so named for the Victorian End.

Victorian End is a high gloss creme with a hint, just a tiny one of shimmer. 1909 was to mark the end of the innocent era.

Drink With Me & Bronze Me Baby by Madam Glam, delicious!

I have two of six polishes sent to me from Madam Glam to share with you today. Drink With Me and Bronze Me Baby. I’ll be following up with the last four in a very near future post! But first, let me help you drool over these beauties!

Bronze Me Baby and Drink With Me. Both perfect formulas! I love the textured glitzyness of Bronze Me Baby yet easy to remove formula. Drink With Me is what all shimmery cremes should be!

Drink With Me by Madam Glam is the quintessential deep deep burgundy wine. It’s almost like having a Cabernet with a slight sexy shimmer on your nails.

Here is two thin easy coats, taken in my sunroom. The subtle shimmer allows the wine to shine, and glints of light play within.

Drink With Me is a Purple plum. It is described as: "This deep plum color will make a great fall manicure. Holding that glass of red wine has never looked this classy! Very subtle shimmers. One to two coats for full opacity. Very smooth to apply." Sooo Glossy!

Application is as near to pigmented perfection as it comes. The formula is what I like to see in all cremes and shimmers like this. It stays buttery smooth and wet for the duration that you apply it to each fingernail. It never drags or get ahead of itself. It doesn’t pool or goop up on you. It’s patient and kind! Lol yet it dries fairly quickly to such a glossy finish, you’ll wonder if you already applied a gloss topcoat and slept through it!

Bronze Me Baby is another huge win. This formula…wow! Love love love it!

Bronze Me Baby is so femme yet has that edgey texture we all love. And EASY to remove!

Bronze Me Baby is a glittery golden pink. It is described as: "A fusion between gold and pink, topped with shiny glitter. What more can you ask from a nail polish?" This reminds me of rose gold. I love the texture on this. Very much like the original Pixie Dusts by Zoya.

Totally in love with this delicate rose gold texture. It's not snaggy and such an easy quick mani, two this coats!

I can’t wait to show you the rest. I’m trying desperately to stay caught up with all my swatching. With about a dozen polishes waiting in the wings and even more winging their way through the postal service presently, I say to winter, “Bring it on!” My nails and my camera are ready 😉 Footnote: I hit my pointer finger nail on a grocery cart today…no, I didn’t swear but I wanted to! I broke the tip off the nail of my model hand, so, looks like I’ll be shortening those nails a bit so they all match. So my next swatches my nails will be more “working length” but oh well, they grow fast thank goodness!

I need to also mention, Madam Glam not only updated their bottle designs, great brushes I might say. But the boxes that hold up to three polishes are super sturdy and well packaged. Great touch and attention to detail. I love that!

Madam Glam offers a myriad of shades in Vampy shades, neutrals, Neons, Pastels, Glitters and Golds. They also have Soak Off Gel polishes, foundations and lipsticks. All are full size .5 oz beautifully packaged bottles. All Madam Glam products are “five-free”: Product does not contain Formaldehyde, Toluene, DiButyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde Resin Or Camphor.
