I’m so excited that BOii Cosmetics sent me more of their “Girls Around the World” polish collection for review. I started out not too long ago with two of the collection and found the formulas amazing. These next four I’m sharing with you today fall right in line. Great formulas, tons of pigment, super easy application and inspired shades.
Here are four more of the new collection from BOii Cosmetics, “Girls Around the World”. From left: Dominican Girl, English Girl, Belizean Girl and American Girl.
How these adorable polishes arrive! As usual, BOii has the cutest packing with these polishes, little gossamer yellow bags with gem trinkets tied on. Love them!
Let’s start with a gorgeous blue one, English Girl!
English Girl is a fabulous medium blue shimmer/metallic 1-2 coater, and the formula is like the others, perfection.
Next up is American Girl. Such a luscious pink!
American Girl is a shimmery deep pink, 1-2 coats, amazing application. I love this! I have other colors like it, but hard to find a formula this good!
Belizean Girl, as shiny as a brand new copper penny!
Belizean Girl is a one-coater super opaque metallic copper penny shade with tons of shine and perfect formula.
And Dominican Girl. Wow!!!
Dominican Girl is 2-coater, great formula and although I love all of these Girls Around the World polishes, this is my fave so far. I’m loving those micro sparkles of coppery gold!
CONCLUSION: 4 letters…LOVE
Be sure to check out my other review on 2 more of the Girls Around the World collection HERE!
I have the second trio from the Color Is The Universal Language collection by OPI. You can order both sets directly through loxabeauty.com. Currently both sets are on sale for $21.50. Supplies may be limited!
From left: • Koala Bear-y – a bold berry creme – 0.5 oz. • Hot & Spicy – a sizzling coral creme – 0.5 oz. • Teal The Cows Come Home – a deep turquoise shimmer – 0.5 oz.
Koala Bear-Y is a delicious berry creme.
Koala Bear-Y is such a bold berry, great formula, very pigmented. 1-2 coats.
Hot & Spicy is just that! Hot and spicy.
Hot & Spicy is the same great formula as the Koala Bear-Y. I couldn’t ask for better and both are very glossy.
And Teal The Cows Come Home is one of those essential blues, shimmery and never out of season.
Teal the Cows Come Home is a frosty medium turquoise shimmer, here I used 2 coats. Great formula, smooth and not too thin.

I have the good fortune of blogging for RPR Marketing. They promote CND salon products including their long-wearing Weekly Polish System and even longer-wearing Shellac. I’m rarely disappointed in Vinylux collections and always welcome their arrival! Today I’ll be sharing the new CND Vinylux Holiday 2015 Aurora collection.
As CND so eloquently states, “Discover the beauty of the Arctic tundra with the NEW Holiday 2015 Aurora collection from CND. Colors crystallize into shimmering frozen pastels and surreal glacial hues. This holiday season, nail trends capture a crystalline essence with icy, glistening finishes,” says CND Co-founder and Style Director Jan Arnold. “Shapes range from the elegantly slender almond to a naturally subtle square, with shimmer that evokes the glint of sun setting across the snow.”
Let’s take a look at these four frozen beauties! First up is Winter Glow.
Winter Glow, a cream pastel pink in a perfect creamy formula. 3 coats for full opacity. Now this is a perfect blushing pink! Winter Glow
And from that glisteny spectrum of colors in the night, Nordic Lights.
Nordic Lights, a deep plumy purple with fine and chunky holographic glitter. 2 coats on its own here. Nordic Lights
This pink is a throwback to my younger days of frosty pastel pinks, Tundra.
Tundra, a delicate dusty rose metallic. Not too bad for streaking as some metallics will do. 2 coats here. Not my favorite, beautiful polish, great formula. But I wore so many polishes like this in my teens. Did I just date myself?! Tundra
And no winter collection is complete without a frost cool blue stunner, Glacial Mist.
Glacial Mist, a mid-toned blue glitter with hints of silver in a shimmery pale baby blue base. 2 coats. Glacial Mist
Conclusion: I really like this collection. My favorite of the collection is Nordic Lights. I’m a sucker for plumy purples, jelly bases and holo! And frosty pale pinks are pretty, but sort of old school. I’d have like to have seen a near black/blue jelly with tiny holo sparkles instead. Sort of like the midnight sky with lights twinkling. But that’s just me. All the formulas were great! Just a little hiccup and I’m sure a very rare anomaly, I did have one funky brush…and a solution should you encounter one with any polish.
Had a bit of an issue with the brush from Glacial Mist. Very rare finding in CND brushes. You see here I wiped off most of the wet polish from the brush, but even fully loaded with polish those little buggers wanted to poke out everywhere. Easy fix, cuticle scissors are better used to fix wonky brushes than cutting precious cuticles!

Today I’m sharing with you three more amazing polishes from ILNP. They just keep coming don’t they? If you follow ILNP on Facebook and Instagram, you’ve probably already had your appetite whetted. Let’s just get right to it. I chose three completely different finishes. Remember, these and all the new 2015 Fall Collection from ILNP will be available for preorder on Sept. 4th at 11 a.m., Pacific.
First up, delicate Dream Girl.
Dream Girl goes on dreamy, and shines like heck! Powerfully feminine.A closer look!Dream Girl is Described by ILNP as, “a super feminine light-orchid holographic nail polish with a serious sparkle! Stuffed with holographic magic, stepping out into the sun is sure to blow your mind! Dream Girl will definitely make you and just about anyone else that has the pleasure of looking at your wonderful nails do a double take. No joke! Dream Girl is part of ILNP’s new “Ultra Holo” class of super intense holographic nail polishes; specifically formulated for maximum, in-your-face holographic sparkle!”
Next up, an Ultra Chrome Flaky that is like a fall rainbow. The Road to Awe!
I wanted The Road to Awe to really stand out with its magical color shifting properties, so I tried it over Top Down. Gorgeous!A macro of The Road to Awe over another new fall shade by ILNP, Top Down! How fitting!Delicious. The Road To Awe is described by ILNP as, “effortlessly cascades through an array of purple, intense pink, wine, copper, and gold. Seriously perfect. ILNP Ultra Chrome Flakies are fully opaque and can be worn alone or over any color without affecting the intense color shifting properties. Full coverage in 3-4 coats!”
And last for today, Spiced Eggnog. Yummy!
Spiced Eggnog is everything! That creamy eggnog shade spiced with cinnamon and gold. Makes me ready for bonfires and sweater weather!Spiced Eggnog is described by ILNP as, “one of many ventures into something new that actually worked! The more I looked at this polish and finish, the more it grew on me until it totally won me over! This unique eggnog colored holographic creme has a touch of both gold and burnt orange flakes for a truly distinct speckled finish. Yum! Fully opaque in 2-3 coats!”
I have several more to share so stay tuned and remember, you can preorder the ILNP Fall 2015 collection on Sept. 4th from ILNP.COM!
Here are a few fabulous facts for your shopping pleasure.
What is your vegan/cruelty free policy? ILNP absolutely does not test our products on animals nor do we purchase materials from suppliers that do. We make a conscious effort to avoid purchasing animal/insect derived materials like carmine and guanine/pearl, etc. as there are plenty of synthetic alternatives that perform the same or even better.
Are your nail polishes 3-Free? Yes! All ILNP nail polishes are 3 free! They DO NOT contain Toluene, Formaldehyde, or Dibutyl Phthalate.
What does 3-Free mean? 3-Free means that our nail polishes do not contain Toluene, Formaldehyde, or Dibutyl Phthalate. These 3 ingredients were previously used in most nail polish formulations until recent studies found them to be potentially harmful or irritable to humans. While these chemicals aren’t illegal to use in nail polish (although California law requires special labeling if used), most large brands have already moved to 3-Free formulas at the urge of educated consumers as well as organizations that campaign for safe cosmetics.”
Happy Anniversary to Virago Varnish! And they are celebrating 1 year by releasing, and available now, a trio of gorgeous holographic polishes. All retail for $11 ea. Along with these three beauties, I got in on the Facebook Group Custom Polish so keep reading!
Virago is celebrating their Anniversary with a stunning 3-piece (or buy individually) collection. From Left: Gala, Jubilee and Triumph. Holo beauty at it’s best!
First up is Gala from the Anniversary collection. This is my kind of blue!
Gala: In celebration of their first year in business, Virago is releasing this beautiful blue holographic polish. Finish: Shine Opacity: Opaque in 3 coats, I only needed 2!
Next is Jubilee. I have to admit, I love them all but I can’t get enough of this one.
Jubilee: In celebration of their first year in business, Virago is releasing this beautiful pink holographic polish. Finish: Shine Opacity: Opaque in 3 coats, I only need 2 of this perfect buttery formula. And wow it’s glossy!
And the last of the Anniversary set is Triumph! Wow, this one messed with my camera so much. Every photo looked different!
Triumph: this is a beautiful blue/green duo chrome holographic polish. Finish: Shine Opacity: Opaque in 3 coats, I only needed 2 and this formula was slightly thicker than it’s sisters.
I’m proud to be a part of the Virago Varnish Facebook Group Virago Squad! And being able to grab this Custom Adrienne made for us is super special! I’m not sure if this will become a part of the core line, so get it while you can. I HIGHLY recommend you become a part of the group if you aren’t already. This indie polish maker is one of THE best out there and the group is full of fine folks. DO NOT join just to get this polish, it’s just not kosher. In fact, it would be tacky. Just sayin’! They are $11 ea.
The Virago Group custom polish is a stunning glossy holo purple. Fabulous formula just like the Anniversary set!
I am super pleased with every one of these. No surprise there. I haven’t tried a polish from this fine indie maker that I didn’t love. Fabulous job Adrienne!

“5-Free Product” – Does not contain camphor, toluene, formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate (DBP) or formaldehyde resins.
I’m down to the wire with my last couple of swatches from the indie polish maker, ILNP Summer 2015 collection! I’m sorry I had to drag this out. The Summer release from ILNP was quite huge and I have been in the middle of a move this summer. And now the Fall Collection is rearing its gorgeous head so I have GOT TO get with it! Anyway, today I’m sharing a gorgeous metallic flake polish, opaque in two coats stunner called Shoreline by ILNP. Let’s take a look.
Shore line gave me fits trying to photograph her as I see her in real life. She is a beachy pale aqua and all I can say is, she changes! I used two coats. Here is how ILNP describes her. “Shoreline is definitely a statement polish! Loaded with silver flakes and magical holographic sparkle, this delicate pale aqua shade is as exciting as they come! Look closely and you may even notice a bit of pink shimmer! Indoors and outdoors, Shoreline is pure magic.”
I think this could definitely be a crossover shade/finish in that it will be a frosty polish for mid-winter as well! It sells for $10 at ILNP here. ILNP! Here is a macro!
I reached full opacity in 2 coats, added a topcoat but it shines on its own. Look at those shards! Wow!
Coming up from ILNP I’ll be swatching and reviewing the last two…finally! Money Bin and Pink Mimosa. Then be on the lookout for my swatches of Barbra’s upcoming Fall Collection. Sneak peeks are popping up on her Facebook and Instagram pages and I’m fully stalking my mailman! LOL

I’m super excited to present my first swatches and review for Indigo Bananas! I have three of the seven new Holo 2015 collection, available today, Aug. 19. Go order now 🙂 Here is a little background first on the founder, Andrea.
Los Angeles based handmade indie nail polish brand Indigo Bananas was founded by Andrea in 2013. She is a trained biologist with prestigious backgrounds such as UCLA and Princeton! In a word, Andrea truly IS the brain behind the science of Indigo Bananas. She may be a science chick, but holy cow, she’s got this lacquer thing nailed down. Oh, and IB also sells cuticle balms. Brilliant!
Without further ado, here are the three beauties I have to show you today.
I have three of the seven Fall holos for 2015 available for order now! From left, Polish of Unusual Quality (P.O.U.Q.), Synonym Bun, and Rhythm & Booze.
First up is Polish of Unusual Quality (P.O.U.Q.).
IB describes Polish of Unusual Quality (P.O.U.Q.) as, “This is a Polish of Unusual Quality (P.O.U.Q.), a red of unusual shine, a color you were pretty sure didn’t exist…until it launched itself at your nails. Top coat optional.
**Slightly brighter flame with most top coats** Multiple thinner coats tend to give stronger and deeper holographic effects.”
Base color: magenta / dark fuschia
Finish: linear holographic
Roughness: smooth
# coats: two medium, two-three thin
Top Coat: optional, a bit more holo flash with top coat
Staining: should not stain – base coat recommended
Size: 15ml or 8ml (pulldown menu options)
Vegan & cruelty free: yes
3-Free (formaldehyde, toluene, DBP free): yes
Polish of Unusual Qualty (R.O.U.Q.) Two coats, no flash here, no topcoat but wowza is she shiny! 2 coats of R.O.U.Q. taken with a flash. You can see she doesn’t need a topcoat, you could, but not really needed.
Next is Synonym Bun. She’s a rare beauty because the color takes on a fiery glow when topcoat is added. Either way, you’ll love this fall femme fatale. I have shots here of with and without topcoat, with and without flash.
IB describes Synonym Bun as, “Synonym Bun – say what? a synonym pun? Delicious! Warm reddish brown linear holo with a strong flame. Two coats is opaque, but three for a stronger holo and deeper color is recommended.”
**Important notes**:
* Top coat changes the tone and holographic effect of this polish, to a deeper and more reddish-brown color and a glowy/toned down holographic effect. There is a good holographic effect with and without top coat. It’s a polish with two effects! 🙂
* This polish did not stain my nails, nor have the component pigments, however it contains colorants that have the possibility of staining, so one coat of base coat is recommended for wear longer than a day.
Base color: deep red-brown
Finish: linear holographic
Roughness: smooth
# coats: two medium, two-three thin
Top Coat: optional, see notes above
Staining: should not stain – base coat recommended
Size: 15ml or 8ml (pulldown menu options)
Vegan & cruelty free: yes
3-Free (formaldehyde, toluene, DBP free): yes
Synonym Bun is all kinds of spicey shine, no matter how you wear her. 2 coats of Synonym Bun without topcoat, just as stunning and super shiny, less red shimmer.
2 coats of Synonym Bun with topcoat, no flash, but wow, she’s a blushing brown beauty! 2 coats of Synonym Bun with topcoat, shot with flash. Sexy brown with fiery flashes. Wow!
And third, a sexy purple holo, perfect for fall in every way, Rhythm & Booze.
IB describes Rhythm & Booze as, “a purple (warm leaning) linear holographic with a bright blue flame. Two coats for coverage, but three coats gives a stronger holographic flame and deeper color. Top coat optional. Multiple thinner coats tend to give stronger and deeper holographic effects.”
Base color: purple, warm leaning
Finish: linear holographic
Roughness: smooth
# coats: two medium, two-three thin
Top Coat: optional
Staining: should not stain – base coat recommended
Size: 15ml or 8ml (pulldown menu options)
Vegan & cruelty free: yes
3-Free (formaldehyde, toluene, DBP free): yes
2 smooth coats of Rhythm & Booze, all that shine will make you sing! Here is a shot of Rhythm & Booze with flash. Look at that holo sparkle!
Overall, even though I don’t have the other four polishes from this collection, I can absolutely guarantee you these all have identical downright perfect formulas. All perfectly opaque in two coats. Application couldn’t get any better, and I had virtually NO CLEANUP to my cuticle areas. None! It glides on like silk and dries quickly, but plenty of time to get the job done. This is how holo is done girls! I highly recommend this collection and I can’t wait to try more of Indigo Bananas lacquers. Now here are the fun facts, links and more. Get yours ordered today, and while you’re at it, see what other cool stuff you can pick up where you’ve got your cart loaded!
The Indigo Bananas Fall ’15 collection was released TODAY at noon Eastern at the Indigo Bananas website and retail for $12 for full size polishes (15ml) and $7.25 for the minis (8 ml). The other polishes in the collection are: Shrieking Teals, Volcanic Corruption, Olive Time & Space and Indigo Montoya.
I’ve got a ways to go with my swatches from indie polish company’s ILNP (I Love Nail Polish) Summer collections. But I’ve been in the middle of a move and I’m just trying to get caught up. I had already swatched these two gorgeous polishes from the Summer collection for 2015. Now that I’m “somewhat” settled, I wanted to get these posted asap.
First up from the 11 bottles in this collection is So Coral! It’s a tan lover!
So Coral is described as: “So Coral is a soft neon coral crelly nail polish that dries glossy and screams summertime! Incredibly bright and fun, So Coral is just perfect for those bright summer days! Depending on the light you’re under, So Coral may lean more pink or more orange. Hard to photograph but wonderful to wear! Fully opaque in 3 to 4 coats.” I barely needed 3.
And just as stunning and one of ILNP’s faves from this summer’s additions is Summer Crush.
Summer Crush is described as: “Summer Crush is a tasty bubblegum pink neon nail polish with just the right touch of super sweet holographic sparkle. This vivid beauty is so yummy and vibrant; it’s the perfect compliment to a bright summer day!”
Just for fun, how about a macro of Summer Crush?
Summer Crush up close. Who wouldn’t have a crush on this one?!
I have more to come, so be patient with me. Besides, I’m growing my nails back out after their trim for the move! 😉 Have you picked up any of the summer collection? They are all winners.
These beauties are listed at $10ea and are available to order now at ILNP.com and sell for $10 ea. I highly recommend each and every one.
Here are a few fabulous facts for your shopping pleasure.

I’m slowly getting back into the swing of things with my swatching and blogging. I managed to grab a few hours before the big move to swatch these and a few others. For some reason, my swatch “non-dominate” hand’s middle digit wants to keep chipping, just millimeters at a time, still frustrating! But now that all the packing, painting, etc is done for now and we are in Texas, my nails can breathe a sigh of relief and I can allow them to regain their original length. Sorry for the odd lengths. I couldn’t bare to trim them any further. 😉
I’m excited I got the Decades Collection July box, 1960, before we left. These three polish colors are wonderful for summertime. Let’s get right to the groovy images!
This month’s The Decades Collection box featuring the 1960s is far out! The in-your-face fuscia Tune In is a satiny fuscia neon. It dries matte but looks amazing alone or with topcoat. Same with the highlighter neon Turn On. It’s a brilliant 2-coater matte, and no white undies required. The purple/blue duochrome with brilliant blue flash shimmer makes this set complete, and oh, so glossy!
Let’s start with Tune In, a neon pink matte.
Tune In is one of those brilliant deep neon pinks that make you love, well, pink! Hard to tell by my photo here, but I put a coat of clear topcoat on the ring finger, but even matte, this color jumps off the nail.
Turn On is also matte, but it’s a brilliant neon yellow/green and I LOVE it! The photo makes it look more yellow, but on the nail it has a bit of green cast.
Turn On is a matte SUPER highlighter yellow/green that can make the most pale look tan! Wow, my camera couldn’t even handle the brightness. Great formula, no white undies needed.
And last but not least, Drop Out. This glossy duochrome is opaque in 2-3 coats, and oh my, that blue flash is crazy!
Drop Out is a fab duochrome purple/blue glossy with brilliant blue flashes. Two coats here!

First, let me get a tiny bit of business out-of-the-way. As you know (if you follow me on Instagram, and you should 😉 We have been planning a big move to Texas from Missouri. Now that has happened as of Monday, I’m slowly getting back to a bit of my regular posting routine. Sorry if it seems my blog presence has been a bit spotty in the past month. After living in the same home for 17 years, moving, fixing, sorting, purging and packing was more daunting than I imagined! But we’ve accomplished this phase (moving into our daughter and her hubby’s home while we househunt) and we are super pleased to be here! I’m getting caught up with my posts, which the next few are swatches I had already done before our trip and now time to post! I also trimmed the length of my nails down to keep them from breaking too badly during the move. Thank you for your patience.
Now for the important schtuff! lol This is my first experience with indie brand, Baroness X Nail Lacquer and I couldn’t be more pleased with this cute collection, NeoElectro. Owner, Demi Lee, also has a lot of other gorgeous polishes on her site as well. These formulas are all top notch, and really unique. They are set to release on July 29th, just around the corner. Let’s take a look!
The Neo Electro collection from left: FluoroFizz, Electric Sparks and Neon Bubbles. Each set comes with a set of Flair Free Mani Bombs and 4 hair ties! These are healthy minis in 8 ml size, which cost $18. The full size set (15 ml) size set is $27 and you can purchase full size individually for $10 ea.Neo Electro bottles clockwise from the top! FluoroFizz, Electric Sparks and Neon Bubbles.
First up is FluroFizz and I’ll share with you images both in direct sunlight and a well-lit room. FluoroFizz is a gorgeous neon pink jelly filled with Spectraflair in the base and the glitters are a mix of matte and holo black glitter (the large circles are holo and some of the smaller glitters are as well. It loves the sun!
FlouroFizz in well lit room, not direct sunlight as in the other photo, but still has tons of pop! This is a fabulous formula, only 2-3 coats, this is 2.
Next up is the brilliant Electric Sparks. This one really has kaboom!
Electric Sparks in the sun is gorgeous! I say gorgeous with a singing voice! lol On the ring finger you’ll notice I painted one coat over white for an in-your-face highlighter effect. Or you can wear it slightly toned down with 3-4 coats over the bare nail. Easy to apply, easy to remove.Electric Sparks in indoor natural light. You can still see the glitzy sterling silver flakies even without direct sunlight. Stunning!
And a macro shot of Electric Sparks because it’s just mesmerizing!
Macro of Electric Sparks. So simple but complex to describe. The highlighter yellow/green jelly base contains various small sizes of silver flakies. This gives them the appearance of having a golden hue, especially in the sun. It stunning! This is the nail with one coat over a white base.
And the third in this little collection is Neon Bubbles. How cute is this one?!
Neon Bubbles, even the name is fun! Here she is in full sunlight. I didn’t try her alone, but this is one coat, smooth as silk. over a deep fuscia gloss. NB is filled with neon micro glitters of pink, aqua, yellow, green, and black. I think I got them all, OH!…and holo glitter.
Thanks so much for reading! All in all, I’m super impressed and highly recommend these polishes. Go check out Demi’s other collections while you are at it. Lots and lots of pretties!
Here are the particulars for the NeoElectro collection, release date July 29th:
a.) mini set (8 mL) for $18
b.) full set (15mL) for $27
c.) individual full sizes $10 each
Both sets will include 4 free hairties and 2 Flair Free Mani Bombs.
