Some new Born Pretty nail pretties you’ll love

It’s been awhile since I posted for Born Pretty store so today I have three pretty items to share with you. Next week I’ll be sharing a gorgeous stamping plate that also arrived with these.

• Today I have a super cute Flower Fairy gel in color #6

Born Pretty Flower Fairy gel in color #6, looks like miniature lavender petals on my nail tips. Can be used over a base color, but I love the look of negative space and nude with this! Cure as you would all gel polishes.

Born Pretty Flower Fairy gel in color #6, a pretty lavender flower within a clear gel base. Cure as you would under lamp, then top with gel top coat and cure. I found it easiest to smooth over nail tip, then dab extra flowers with a tiny nail dotting tool. Or you could use a toothpick.

• A mermaidy glitter/pigment Starry Sky in color #2345.

Born Pretty Starry Sky glitter #2345 rubbed over black gel polish that has been cured. Very easy to rub in but unlike some of the finer pigments, also leaves a few chunkier flakes but remain smooth. The duochrome chameleon effect is stunning. Here I added a gel matted topcoat over the accent nail, cured, then drops of clear gloss gel topcoat and cured for a water droplet effect.

Born Pretty Starry Sky glitters come in 12 shades, this one is very mermaidy, #2345. This glitter is not the super fine powder as often found in powder pigments but can be used the same way. Can also be used to mix into a color or clear polish.

• And a gorgeous chameleon Teal/Purple color shifting Holo polish in #33.

Here is Born Pretty Holo Polish #33 over a blue base. A pretty shifty and glossy chameleon polish.

Madam Glam Chrome Mirror Pigments for shine that is Out-of-This-World

Madam Glam Chrome Mirror Pigment powders aptly named after planets and other heavenly bodies sparkle and shine! This cast of characters come in seven shades and I have four to share with you today. And as a bonus, I will also share with you a shiny red gel polish that will make heads turn! Let’s take a look.

I am loving Pluto Chrome Mirror Pigment Powder by Madam Glam, swatched here over white for a pearly finish that glows pale green in different angles along with pale pink. But over black as seen on the accent nail, boom! An emerald foil finish!

Pluto is one of 7 of the newest Chrome Mirror pigment powders by Madam Glam. Each pot is a generous 5 grams and comes with instructions and a nice pink metallic applicator. Pluto is described as, "...green with blue undertone" and suggested to go over a black gel polish cured with a no wipe top coat, but you may also use it over regular polish with a water based top coat over and under the powder!

Venus Chrome Mirror Pigment Powder by Madam Glad over black. The MG store describes it as a light blue but on me at least seemed a darker blue over black gel polish. I think if it was swatched over a white or pale blue it would be a lot lighter but it's gorgeous here!

Madam Glam's Chrome Mirror Powder in Jupiter. Here it is swatched over a nude gel polish which gives it a soft golden glow! Can be swatched over any color though, black will give a dramatic effect while pale shades result in anything from a white gold to rosy gold mirror shine.

Here is the bonus swatch of Quite Olive gel polish! She’s a fabulous red gel polish with tons of shimmer. I wore it all Christmas weekend!

Quite Olive by Madam Glam is described as, "Sparkly red with a hint of orange. This color was inspired by the gorgeous Kalamata olives. Nothing makes red wine more delicious than some good olives and a gorgeous manicure." Here she is in 3 coats. It's a perfect pimento shimmer for a holiday mani!

Quite Olive is a red jelly like shiner and as a soak-off gel polish, I recommend 3 coats for full coverage. But wow, it's shiny and stunning.

Two fun fall looks using CND Vinylux Weekly polish and Additives

I have a few CND salon products I’m featuring today using their long-wearing Weekly Polish System and CND Enhancements Additives (sent to me by Loxa Beauty). Remember, I’m not a nail tech and my art is what I call “beginners”. At least I have fun doing it! 😉 RPR sent me four polishes which truly are, “Bold and Beautiful”. Fall shades and finishes are in step this season. They are perfect for back to school looks as well. Be it fun and feisty or smoldering and sexy, CND’s got your color.

From Left: Dark Dahlia is a lovely, dark blackberry creme., from the Forbidden Collection from CND. Electric Orange is a bright, popping orange creme. Cerulean Sea is a medium sky blue creme. Scarlet Letter is a deep oxblood creme.

Dark Dahlia is a lovely, dark blackberry creme., from the Forbidden Collection from CND. For this Fall-iscious look I used Dark Dahlia as a base, then drops of Midnight Swim. While wet pinched on a bit of CND Enhancements Additive Jaded Rebel Pigment Effect. Then a few drops of Scarlet Letter followed by a pinch of Midnight Revelry Additives glitter.

I will add here, I LOVE the outcome using the Additives, so graciously sent to me by Loxa Beauty! Sort of a pain to remove. The super fine milled Additive Jaded Rebel really clings to the skin. Next time I think I’ll use a latex barrier while applying! But the end result is SO worth it.

This mani goes POP! Electric Orange is a bright, popping orange creme. Cerulean Sea is a medium sky blue creme. I used a dotting tool to dab on drops of Cerulean Sea, followed by drops of Electric orange! A word about the formulas. The blue was a bit watery but a good formula with good coverage, 2-3 coats. The Electric Orange gave me fits. I think it may have been a bad bottle, which is rare for CND. I had to give it a good shake because upon first application, it had some chunks of pigment that would not smooth out. Sort of like curds. It eventually smoothed out, but the formula is on the thick side. I needed to allow the first coat fully dry before applying the second.

Although I had trouble with the Electric Orange formula, I do believe it was just a bad bottle, or suffered heat stroke in the mail! Once I worked it out, it looked fabulous!
