Some of the many things I love about indie polish companies is their constant vision for thinking outside the box, pushing their own limits and constantly adding to their inventory of wonderful shades and finishes. Madam Glam is one of those companies that continue to bring it all to the table. Today I’ll be sharing some super glossy cremes. All perfect for the office or a beach party! Let’s see what we have!
From Left, Falling For You, Underground Queen and Rose Pethal. All three amazing formulas on these cremes.
First up is fast becoming one of my favorite shade types for spring and summer. Even without a tan, it makes you seem like you have one! Here is Falling For You. I think of this one as a bleached neon type of shade. Either way, it works for me.
Falling For You is described as: “Soft Baby Pink. It’s like the beginning of a romance : soft, simple, amazing! The perfect pink for every romantic out there.” I reached full opacity in two smooth coats, super glossy! It’s quite bright without being a true neon, so no flat finishes here!
Another glossy pale peachy pink is Rose Pethal. Very neutral as far as nudes go and I think it would work on many skin tones.
Rose Pethal is described as: “Soft Pink Romantic yet playful, this light Pink is a must have for everyday occasion. So simple and so stylish!” I reached full opacity in this smooth applying creme in two coats. Super glossy as well!
And last for this post is a rich grey that is super glossy and a dream to apply. Underground Queen is a perfect grey on its own or as a moody base for nail art.
Underground Queen is described as: “Gunmetal Grey You always think outside the box? Then this shade is perfect for any season and occasion. Sophistication to another level!” As with the other two cremes I shared in this post, this applied totally opaque in two coats and dries super glossy!
In conclusion, I love all three of these cremes. No surprise there! 🙂 All of these are available now in Madam Glam‘s store.
Madam Glam offers a ton in Vampy shades, neutrals, Neons, Pastels, Glitters and Metallics, and nail treatments. They also have Soak Off Gel polishes, eye makeup, blushes, foundations and lipsticks. All are full size beautifully and carefully packaged bottles. All Madam Glam products are “five-free”: Product does not contain Formaldehyde, Toluene, DiButyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde Resin Or Camphor.
Also, you get free shipping for orders over $40. Check the web site often for special offers.
Wake up to these soft and easy-on-the-eyes shades from Vinylux Spring 2015 Flora & Fauna Weekly Polish Collection from CND. Colors and styles are inspired by watercolor impressions of luminous landscapes. I have to disclose immediately that every single one of these formulas are jaw-droppingly gorgeous. I’m not kidding! I would consider this collection sent to me by RPR Marketing a spring essential for salons everywhere and avid polish collectors in general.
Introducing CND Vinylux Weekly Polish (also available in Shellac) Spring 2015 Flora & Fauna Collection. This set of eight polishes include 4 creams, 2 glass fleck shimmers, and 2 pearly shimmers. Back row: Wild Moss (glass fleck), Salmon Run (cream), Thistle Thicket (cream) and Field Fox (cream). Front row: Creekside (cream), Blush Teddy (shimmer), Dandelion (pearl shimmer) and Fragrant Freesia (glass fleck).
CND describes this collection, available in these Weekly Polishes as well as Shellac as: “Moments of reflection as wildflowers sway in the soft morning breeze. Untouched meadows, nature’s retreat, sigh with tranquility.” They are available now.
“This season’s trends are all about unplugging from today’s digital world and embracing the simpler things. Sun-bleached tones and dreamy watercolor paintings emerge from the perfection of nature,” says CND Co-founder and Style Director Jan Arnold. “Nails are easy and softly squared – as wearable and simple as a barefoot stroll through the grass while finishes play with matte and shiny effects.”
I’d say that pretty much nails it! I couldn’t be happier with this breath of fresh air. Let’s take a look.
First up is Blush Teddy. I’m not sure what that implies 😉 But its gorgeous.
Blush Teddy is a cream with a super subtle shimmer.
I’m in love with Creekside! I guess because I love the water. But it’s a stunning pale blue.
Creekside is a pale blue cream with a great formula.
I wasn’t sure if I’d care much for Dandelion on my skin tone, but I think it’s one of my faves of the bunch.
Dandelion is a pale peachy pearly shimmer.
What a glorious neutral is Field Fox!
Field Fox is a beautiful taupey nude cream that reminds me of a milk chocolate drink.
Fragrant Freesia has a wonderful glass fleck effect that I love in polishes!
Fragrant Freesia is a gorgeous glass fleck shimmer polish with a superb formula, just like Wild Moss, two coats.
Even though Salmon Run was streakier in application on the 1st coat, it nicely corrected itself on the second, and still needed a third. But it turned out nice and I love this shade!
Salmon run is the only 3-coater in the set of creams but the gorgeously peachy payoff is worth it.
Thistle Thicket is one of those must-have greys that tend to go with everything! This would be a wonderful polish for the workplace, but also as a base for nail art. It’s got a touch of blue/lavender to it which makes it adaptable.
Thistle Thicket is another fabulous formula. A pale neutral, a greyed out blue/lilac is opaque in two coats.
I LOVE this Wild Moss with it’s glass flecks and shimmer!
Wild Moss is the other silver glass fleck shimmer. Great formula in two coats, super easy!
And just for fun, I played around with a bit of springtime nail art of Wild Moss.
Here is a little nail art, a spring tree in bloom, using four of the Flora & Fauna collection, Wild Moss, Salmon Run, Field Fox and Creekside.

I’m finally getting caught up with my blog posts after a short hiatus. I still posted while on vacation in Texas but boy did the work pile up for me while I was gone! It’s my pleasure to show you the February 2015 box from SquareHue. I’m loving this Decades Collection boxes so far. This box brings us to the 1910s, with Tunic 1910, Kewpies 1912 and War Crinoline 1915. The War Crinoline style was the thing and Kewpie dolls came from the creative mind of Rose O’Neil. Kewpie dolls, that little naked, cherub faced baby doll made it’s way onto the scene in comic strips in 1909. Eventually the dolls would be coveted by little children everywhere, usually found as small prizes at carnivals and boardwalks. I have a small collection packed away somewhere. Not that I’m that old, but my mom started me collecting them as antiques. And the popular tunic style dress was all the rage during the Great War. More of a tubular shape dress, they seemed to create an illusion of whispier figures, and less pronounced curviness of the previous decades of fashion. It was also a way to cut back the extravagant dressing which helped the war effort. Enough of the history lesson and onto the polishes!
The 2.15 1910 set of The Decades Collection from left, Tunic, Kewpie and War Crinoline.
Tunic is a gorgeous color. It’s a soft peach creme and great on just about every skin tone.
Tunic is a gorgeous peach creme, that although I love the color and the outcome, it took 4 surprisingly sheer coats to get here. Well worth it though!
Kewpie is that soft pink that goes great any time of year. I wasn’t sure with my pale winter skin how it would look, but I think it looks pretty nice!
Kewpie was nearly as sheer at Tunic, but this only took 3 coats. I love this kind of gently pink.
Keeping with the wartime theme, War Crinoline is a very versatile green, on the cool side and goes perfectly with the other shades in this ensemble.
Here is War Crinoline, a cool army green creme. 2 smooth coats, the best formula of this trio. I used both Kewpie and Tunic on the accent nail.
