Konnichiwa! As we dive right into Summer 2015, Loxa Beauty provided me for review three adorable duo sets from the Morgan Taylor Hello Pretty! collection. Today I’ll be sharing with you the first set of the three, “Bubblegum Yum”! High pigments, neon and bright cremes are the perfect pair.
Inspired by Japanese street style and pop anime culture, these polishes will have you saying, “Arigatō”! First of the Bubblegum Yum duo is Look At You, Pink-Achu!
I loved both formulas and Tokyo A GoGo really jumps off your nails!
And for some kawaii (cute) fun, I used both shades for this pop art polish.
So far, Morgan Taylor’s formulas are fab and I can’t wait to show you the rest!
Your DISCOUNT CODE is $5 off of $25 or more! Code: 8FU9JG
The Morgan Taylor Hello Pretty! duo packs are $17/ea set.
Keep checking back, I’ll soon be featuring the other two sets, seen here!
A few months ago I got lucky and won a giveaway sponsored by Gloss48 and Accio Lacquer. I won three full size bottles of gorgeousness by Dollish Polish. I noticed they are going to be available for purchase tomorrow, July 24th. Since they are going to be available, I thought I’d remind you how gorgeous these girls are! I painted two of them in this mani. First photo indoors…
Très Chic! Great formula, brushes and I LOVE these square bottles. This aquamarine crelly has black hexes, large and medium Fuscia rounds, teal hexes and squares, teal glitters small black matte glitters. I used two coats here. I believe now this includes donut glitters too!
And of course gorgeous out in the sunshine!
Both formulas are perfection. I love how opaque and smooth Wild Orchid is on the nail.
Wild Orchid! This formula was astounding! I mean seriously, I had no doubts and I was so excited to see the holographic shimmer. It’s scattered but just on the cusp of being linear. But the orchid shade would be overtaken I think with too much holo, so I’m glad they left this one as is. One coat will do, but why not two?
Head over to Dollish Polish and order up some of your own!
I am SO loving this Zoya Bubbly collection, for Summer 2014! I now have all of them but Alma, a warm golden peach. I was afraid it might not be kind to my complexion so I passed. So I have Binx, Jesy, Harper, Muse and Stassi. For the photo below, I used two coats and on a scale of 1-5 of opacity, Zoya rates this as a 3. It’s gorgeous!
Binx is described by Zoya as …”a spicy orchic purple dappled with gold metallic and holo sparkles. The exclusive liquid-metal holographic jelly formula is full-coverage in 2 coats. With undertones evenly balanced between red and blue, this shade is flattering to most skin tones.”
All six of the Bubbly shades are $9 each and are available now on http://www.zoya.com, select salons and stores including Ulta. Look for more swatches from this collection as well as a couple I bought from the Tickled collection in the coming days.
All opinions are my own, and I purchased these products myself.
Okay girls, I’m going to gush for a moment, so please indulge me. I bought this bottle of wHet brand nail polish from 6pm.com recently. The color, which is a mega glossy pinkish Fuscia with a blue shimmer that will make you drool, caught my eye. I figured for $4.99, why not! I guess I must have been living under a rock…why have I not heard of Whet? I’m not going to lie, and I’ve always thought I had a pretty decent vocabulary. But I’ve slept since my school days and somehow forgot the definition of “whet”. To my shame and why oh why did someone not correct me…how long have I been writing the phrase, “wet my appetite” incorrectly?! DOH! Well, onward. It’s definition is right on the box, “[hwet, wet] to stimulate curiosity! appetite and desire.” I knew that. 😉
OH.MY.GOODNESS!!!🙀 I’m in love. It’s so glossy and pigmented you’ll think you’d died and gone to heaven and the polish angels must have touched the bottle with their heavenly wings. See? Gushing 😊 I did two coats but you could get away with one. This formula…I need to take my pulse, hold on. Wow! It glides on like butta. This color is Megalomaniac. Such a gorgeous shade I find difficult to describe. Pink/red/Fuscia/orchid with blue color shifting shimmer. Yeah, I’ll stick with that! The polish comes nicely packaged in a black box. The description of this shade states, “megalomaniac (Meg-ah-lo-MAN-EE-ak) a person who has an obsession with extravagant things or actions.” Well, that doesn’t describe me, other than the obsession part…with great nail polish!
According to press information provided to me by the lovely Lauren at wHet/meBath, here is the science behind the amazing wHet’s “refined lacquer” glossy awesomeness! And I quote:
“wHet’s Incognito Nail Lacquer System is The best of Both Worlds!
wHet’s Incognito system uses technology that gives you long lasting, high gloss wear without any harmful chemicals or exposure to UV/LED light. Let’s not forget to mention it removes as easily as regular nail polish, making it possible for the color indecisive to change up their look with no hassle.
The Incognito system requires two simple steps for a 7-day chip resistant finish that mimics the high shine look of a gel polish. The dual functioning clear base/top coat, appropriately named Incognito, is applied to clean nails followed by the wHet lacquer color of your choice. The creamy consistency of the lacquer means it only requires one coat. Finish with a coat of Incognito over the lacquer and viola; you’ve locked in your polish for a 7-day chip free wear! Easy enough right?
For added shine and protection throughout the week, apply Incognito to your nails the next day and again 3-4 days later. When you’re ready to try your next fashion forward color simply remove the lacquer as you would regular nail polish. wHet CEO and Founder said he created the system to “combine the best of both worlds – a gel like finish without the harmful chemicals or hassle of removing it”.
Even though we are still in the icy grip of winter, my eyes have turned toward the springy shades that abound on nail polish racks. It’s no secret, I don’t do winter! I do love the warm and vampy colors of the cold season. But I’m ready to put those to bed.
Naturally I embrace all shades of Spring and Summer. I’m a sucker for all variations of lavenders, orchids and purples. When I saw Sweet Hook by China Glaze on that Sally’s Beauty polish rack, I knew it had to come home with me. Today I was pondering what my NOTD should be. And since we are expecting yet another winter blast this week, the rebel in me, sitting on my left shoulder whispered, “…go with that spring shade. You know you want to…” So here we are! I paired her with a French tip look using Zoya’s Stevie Pixie Dust. Then added a little fimo butterfly…or “flutterby” as my niece used to say when she was little! 🙂
