Deborah Lippmann “All About That Base” has got you covered!

I am thrilled to be working with Lippmann, Enterprises…a dream come true! Today I will be featuring a fairly new nail treatment from Deborah Lippmann called “All About That Base”. The CC Base Coat corrects and conceals. But there’s more!

ALL ABOUT THAT BASE CC Base Coat Correct and Conceal Base Coat. MSRP $20.00 .5 Fl. Oz. 15mL

Here is the manufacturer’s description: “Correct and Conceal Base Coat. Multi-tasking CC formula provides 10 nail treatment benefits and immediate nail perfecting coverage in one! Special hydrating complex with Pathenol helps moisturize, strengthen and protect the look of nails while treatment correctors help conceal imperfections, brighten, prime and fill ridges for a smooth, matte, flawless finish with improved wear.” The Perfect Manicure video.

One coat over my naked nails provides a smooth protective barrier to neutralize nail color and a healthy base for nail color. May also be worn alone for a nude matte look.

Conclusion: I love that in a pinch, I could actually just use this as a protective nude matte mani. It’s medium thick formula means it’s self-leveling when applied on one thin coat. After little practice on a couple of nails, I figured out I was applying too thick. Apply on clean dry nails. I highly recommend this base coat. MSRP $20, it may be higher than you normally pay for a base coat, but if you like to extend, I mean REALLY extend your manicure, even if just for a vacation, this is the way to go. Polish clings to this little wonder. And who couldn’t use the strengthening properties within?

Come back later and this coming week. I’ve got some more Deborah Lippmann goodies to show you!

You can order All About That Base directly from DL’s website.

CND Vinylux Fall 2015 Contradictions, pt. 2

Continuing my feature of these eight fabulous shades for fall 2015, Contradictions is a fun transitional set. Today I’ll be sharing two more polishes, Grommet and Rouge Rite.

Rouge Rite is one of those essential reds, not a bright red, but a moody, juicy red.

Rouge Rite is a gorgeous red creme that applies like a dream, completely opaque in two smooth coats. It was a fabulous base for this plastic wrap nail art using Grommet.

Rouge Rite is a seductive, cool, deep red creme.

Grommet is a one-coat gun-metal full of shine and silver shimmer. I found it was a great choice teaming up with Rouge Rite for a plastic wrap nail art look.

Grommet is a one-coater gun metal gray, and a fabulous matchup with Rouge Rite.

More Madam Glam polishes in all their glory!

It’s springtime and new polishes are bloomin’ everywhere you look. Today I have four more beauties from Madam Glam. No, not pastels this time but some very “Earth Day” type shades and finishes I think you’d love to add to your collection (Earth Day is Wednesday, April 22nd. Let’s get started!

I love everything about these next four Madam Glad polishes. Great formulas all around. From left, are: Sandy Beach, a golden slightly textured 1-2 coater. Perfect application. Aquamarine, a smooth applying 3-coat jelly. Great shade on anyone. Chocolate Dream, a creamy chocolate that looks like melted chocolate. And Royal Green, a gorgeous shimmer that dries to a satiny finish and looks lovely either like that or with a top coat to bring out even more of the shimmer.

I really think all four of these could be combined somehow in very cool Earth Day designs. I would try it but I’m swamped with keeping up with yard work (yes, I’m protecting my nails) and getting my in-law’s place ready for an estate sale! Gotta love spring! lol

I’ll start off with a perfect example of the H2o shade, Aquamarine!

The perfect cerulean blue. Aquamarine is like looking into the ocean. Whether you use this jelly as a jelly sandwich or take it to full opacity in 3 easy coats, I'd consider this a must-have blue jelly.

Next is Chocolate Dream and it IS oh so chocolately! I suppose you could say she represents the earth.

Like you dipped your fingers in chocolate, Chocolate Dream is a dream! 1-2 coats. I added a coat of Rock Star because I love pink and brown together!

And you couldn’t honor this wonderful world we live in and on without a grassy green shimmering in the sun! Here is Royal Green.

And the last one for today, and if you’ve read any of my blogs you’ll know I’m a beach NUT! So of course I LOVE this gently textured golden sandy beauty, Sandy Beach!

Sandy Beach, now your talkin'! Like golden sand sparkling in the summer sun. This will look great on your toes too! Slightly textured but not snaggy, super easy application. 1-2 coats, this is one!

Manis and lacquers

CND Vinylux for Game Day. Are you ready for some football…manis that is?

Allow me to “kick off” with a little back story! When I was in high school…like eons ago, I was a loyal “WHS Husky”. Our school mascot was a fierce canine as was our football team, and our colors were black and orange. Yeah, can you hear me yawning? Don’t get me wrong. I adored my alma mater, our mascot, our fabulous campus and MOST of my teachers. 😉 But honestly, our school colors were the colors of Halloween! But, going to football and basketball games were always proud and memorable events. We donned our school colors, wrapped fuzzy black and orange angora thread around our steady boyfriend’s class ring and spent countless nights shouting “Go Huskies” ’till we were hoarse. By the way, I personally do not have a preference this year since my own home pro team didn’t qualify…again! 😉 Have I painted a proper picture for you?

Speaking of painting, it’s a great time to be a pro football fan and you’re going to want to paint your nails with your team’s colors or even attempt some nail art. Man, I wish we were more adventurous with our manis back then! We are literally just around the corner from the Big Game! Time to grab some polishes representing your favorite team, whether they’re from Seattle or New England.

Whether you're rooting for New England (colors on the left are "Hollywood" and "Midnight Swim") or Seattle (colors on the right are Lush Tropics and Indigo Frock) you'll find the perfect combination of shades with CND Vinylux Weekly Polishes from Loxa Beauty. www.shoploxa.com

Score one for New England with a super simple mani!

Your New England inspired mani can be as simple as this one using striping and dots, and a little star. I used Hollywood and Midnight Swim. For the accent finger I used a shimmery pigskin brown topped laced with some white striping tape.

Seattle touches down at the goal post with a fun dotticure.

For my Seattle look I used Lush Tropics and Indigo Frock. I used a white striper polish for the goal post and the same brown shimmer for the tiny football!

Aren’t these colors fun? Let me digress a bit before sending you off to the big game. You know when you begin those last four years of secondary education, you rarely have a choice just because might have a distaste for the school’s colors. I’m just glad we got to wear black graduation robes instead of bright orange! Potential college recruits do have a little more variety in their futures. Whether your future grad gown is pomegranate or puce, you do tend to identify with your alliances by the colors they embrace. When you become a pro football fan, it’s no different. How you identify with your team may be even more intense. By this time you don’t care what your home team’s colors are. You might paint your face, wear frighteningly unattractive headgear, and now you find yourself freezing your buns off barbecuing from the back of your SUV in a parking lot! See? Now our allegiance has REALLY matured! LOL

As always, CND polishes are quick drying and easy to apply. Brushes are super nice. I used two coats of each shade. Here are the polishes from CND Vinylux that might score big in your playbook. Be sure to check the links below! Oh, here is another huge SCORE for you! Your DISCOUNT CODE is $5 off of $25 or more! Code: 8FU9JG
