As a huge OPI fan, I have had the good fortune of testing a lot of their polishes. A couple that I will be featuring here today I’ve already tried, but in the super mini bottles. So it was a pleasure to get the chance to try them on using the regular size bottles and brushes. I’m just not a fan of those microscopic bottles. I received two kits/boxes (each containing 3 polishes) from Loxa Beauty. The one I’m showing you today is titled “Fun“. They are currently on sale through Loxa for $21.50! Fun contains You Don’t Know Jacques, Do You Have This Color in Stock-Holm? and My Dogsled is a Hybrid. Here we go!

Allow me to “kick off” with a little back story! When I was in high school…like eons ago, I was a loyal “WHS Husky”. Our school mascot was a fierce canine as was our football team, and our colors were black and orange. Yeah, can you hear me yawning? Don’t get me wrong. I adored my alma mater, our mascot, our fabulous campus and MOST of my teachers. 😉 But honestly, our school colors were the colors of Halloween! But, going to football and basketball games were always proud and memorable events. We donned our school colors, wrapped fuzzy black and orange angora thread around our steady boyfriend’s class ring and spent countless nights shouting “Go Huskies” ’till we were hoarse. By the way, I personally do not have a preference this year since my own home pro team didn’t qualify…again! 😉 Have I painted a proper picture for you?
Speaking of painting, it’s a great time to be a pro football fan and you’re going to want to paint your nails with your team’s colors or even attempt some nail art. Man, I wish we were more adventurous with our manis back then! We are literally just around the corner from the Big Game! Time to grab some polishes representing your favorite team, whether they’re from Seattle or New England.
Score one for New England with a super simple mani!
Seattle touches down at the goal post with a fun dotticure.
Aren’t these colors fun? Let me digress a bit before sending you off to the big game. You know when you begin those last four years of secondary education, you rarely have a choice just because might have a distaste for the school’s colors. I’m just glad we got to wear black graduation robes instead of bright orange! Potential college recruits do have a little more variety in their futures. Whether your future grad gown is pomegranate or puce, you do tend to identify with your alliances by the colors they embrace. When you become a pro football fan, it’s no different. How you identify with your team may be even more intense. By this time you don’t care what your home team’s colors are. You might paint your face, wear frighteningly unattractive headgear, and now you find yourself freezing your buns off barbecuing from the back of your SUV in a parking lot! See? Now our allegiance has REALLY matured! LOL
As always, CND polishes are quick drying and easy to apply. Brushes are super nice. I used two coats of each shade. Here are the polishes from CND Vinylux that might score big in your playbook. The Cinderella Collection From Morgan Taylor is so feminine and iconic. Cinderella once again steps onto the silver screen and onto your nails. It’s so exciting that Morgan Taylor has collaborated with Disney for their new live-action film, Cinderella. The film will debut in theaters on March 13, 2015. I’ve watched the trailers so many times I’ve nearly worn out the link! Naturally when you think of Cinderella, explosions of color and fantastical whimsy come to mind. Not to mention glitter! I mean really. Any fairy Godmother is not worth her salt unless she’s packing a healthy amount of magical glitter. The Cinderella Collection From Morgan Taylor are inspired by the film’s colorful storyline and textures perfectly. From the would-be princess’s carriage to her sparkly glass slippers, your nails can be properly outfitted for the movie’s launch.
Today I’ll be sharing with you all three sets, which are available on Loxa Beauty NOW as of this post, Wednesday, January 28, 2015.
1. More Than A Fairytale set contains: My Carriage Awaits (Coral creme) and Party at The Palace (Iridescent medium teal)
2. May I Have This Dance? set contains: “Watch Your Step, Sister! (Medium pink creme) and Ella of a Girl (Light pink creme)
3. My Inner Princess set contains: Best Ball Gown Ever (Shimmery iridescent pale blue) and If The Slipper Fits (Light blue shimmer with holographic glitter)
Here come the swatches! We’ll start with More Than a Fairytale:
I had to add this little mani idea before posting. I was thinking about what I could do with the “My Carriage Awaits” shade. I love the soft peachy shade and I’m glad they didn’t go with a true pumpkin tone for this one. In the film it looks like the pumpkin that gets transformed into a carriage actually turns golden. Then of course when the clock strikes midnight it would turn back into it’s original form. So in this super easy mani using MCA, I added the conversion of gold using 18k gold flake topcoat, and on the accent nail a representation of the clock almost striking midnight.
Here are the swatches from May I Have This Dance:
And the fabulous blues of Cinderella’s gown and slippers:
All of these magical polishes will transform you into the princess you always wanted to be. You may not be wearing a gossamer blue gown or tiny glass slippers, but at least your nails will make a handsome prince do a double take.
I received all six shades of the 50 Shades of Grey LE Collection by OPI, from Loxa Beauty this week. From vampy cool toned red to the smoldering deep toned grey (w/just a hint of blue-tone), this ensemble will surely inspire you to paint your nails and go to town! I have to say, the some of the formulas were on the thin side of application, but each only needed two coats to opacity. I had a bit of trouble with pooling on the red, Romantically Involved, but it only happened on one nail. The fluidity of the formula took me by surprise. Each creme dried quickly, applied smooth and dried glossy. Here are a couple shot of the bottles.
I like how the grey shades were sort of stepped, and I plan on trying a gradient when I get the chance. Then the other three took on a different personality from snappy silver, sparkly silver with blue glitters and sexy red.
You can now get all six shades from the LE Collection of 50 Shades of Grey by OPI now from Loxa Beauty! The film adaptation of the 2011 romance novel by British author E.L. James is due to be released in theaters on February 13, 2015.
“Surrender to the passion. Surrender to the color.” Pick up your OPI 50 Shades of Grey polishes today at Loxa Beauty!
Conclusion: I liked this collection and felt like they all were very complimentary with each other. I loved layering the Shine on Me over My Silk Tie…total win there. I love reds and one would think with all the reds I own, I’d have a dupe. But nope! I looked and this is unlike my other reds. The thin formula is workable and makes this one worth it. I’m not a huge fan of grey/gray 😉 but they do gradient nicely together. My fave grey in this collection is the Dark Side of the Mood. What do you think? Got it, want it, on the fence? Loxa Beauty also has the set of minis as well!
OPI Nail Lacquer is rich, long-lasting, high shine, colored nail polish for natural nails. OPI Nail Lacquers contain everything you want, nothing you don’t. Contains no DBP, toluene or formaldehyde and they are not tested on animals Lacquers feature OPI’s exclusive ProWide Brush.
I can’t personally expound much on the “Grey” trilogy, other than the 2nd installment of the books is named Fifty Shades Darker and the 3rd is Fifty Shades Freed. Both were published in 2012. But from what I’ve read from reviews of the trilogy, the story line is steamier than a July picnic in Louisiana! I may not be able to handle that, but I had no trouble with these fab polishes.

* These products were sent to me for review. All opinions are my own.
These aren’t your mama’s blues! They are vampy, sultry and ready to set off the fireworks on New Year’s Eve. So popular in fact is the trio that it’s currently sold out but you can still find two of these beauties on Loxa Beauty individually…New Year, New Blue and Snow Place Like Home. These polishes were made for bringing the new year.
All the formulas were great. The New Year, New Blue is highly pigmented, you could get by with one coat, I usually do two. I applied Snow Place Like Home on my accent nail over white. But you’re free to experiment. This sugary topcoat is gorgeous over just about anything.
Sorry, Midnight Rendezvous is not currently available, but I’ll show it to you anyway!
What are your New Year’s plans? Staying in, eating pizza and watching the ball drop? Or are you planning to brave the roads and party hardy? Leave me a comment…I’m dying to know! Happy New Year all you lovely people! I pray 2015 is amazing for you!
This is the second set in this 3-part series on OPI’s new Gel Effects Lacquer System, Infinite Shine which includes the Primer and the Gloss topcoat. I’m thrilled with how pigmented these polishes are. Today I’ll be sharing two more from the six on my shelf! To Infinity & Blue-yond and Indignantly Indigo.
Remember, to get the best out of these gel like lacquers, you will want to apply the Primer and the Gloss topcoat, and you’ll get tons of wear out of all 30 available shades. Come back in the next day or so for the last two shades in this series!
I am loving these Cinapro Nail Art gems! The set I used today is called “Girls Best Friend”. This gem set has a great range of sizes and shapes from teeny tiny to medium. Perfect for those of us with narrow nail beds or when you want to go all out! This set is all clear/crystal colored gems.
When you need that little extra somethin’ for an elegant mani, Cinapro carried by Loxa Beauty is just the ticket!
TIP: I used to just apply a thin layer of clear top coat, one nail at a time, just before applying nail gems. The problem I personally had was, well, indecision! Therefore I sometimes ended up with already dried topcoat. If too thick or too wet, I ended up with a dent of clear topcoat you could see around the edges of my gems! No bueno for closeup photos. So I tried dabbing a dot of topcoat just before applying each gem. Voila! I did this with this set and even after a full day of housecleaning I didn’t lose one gem. This worked for me, and is just a suggestion 😉
