Introducing the Chloe & Bella 2015 Spring collection

Mark your calendars for March 21st! This oh-so-spring collection from indie brand Chloe & Bella, the 2015 Spring Collection, will go on sale and you don’t want to miss any of the six mix ‘n match set. Here they are!

Here they are! The stunning Chloe & Bella 2015 Spring Collection. They are, from left, "Strawberry Cream, Strawberry Twinkle, Tangerine Cream, Tangerine Twinkle, Aubergine Twinkle and Aubergine Cream.

The formulas of the creams were consistent and easy to work with. No flooding and not overly thick with a nicely splaying brush. Although it’s hard to capture the iridescent flashes within each of the creams, believe me, they are there in full sun and well lit rooms. The glitter toppers are great formulas as well, each in clear bases. No fishing here as these formulas have plenty of multi-sized glitters without being chunky on the nail. I found that they applied so smoothly you really don’t need a glitter filling top coat for any of them.

Let’s start off with the Tangerines! Tangerine Cream

Tangerine Cream is a smooth 2-coater with flashes of purple iridescent shimmer. Hard to capture in the photo but believe me, it's breathtaking!

Tangerine Cream is described as, "Tangerine Cream is a deliciously yummy orange pastel cream that reminds me of those wonderful Creamsicles of my younger days. Tangerine Cream consists of a fluid and creamy polish that also contains a surprising purple iridescent shimmer. This polish is opaque in two easy coats."

Tangerine Twinkle, her outspoken sister!

Tangerine Twinkle is perfectly paired up to it's sister, Tangerine Cream, but I'm tempted to think outside the box and pair her over Strawberry Cream! Ohh, ahh!

Tangerine Twinkle is described as, "Tangerine Twinkle is a sparkling glitter-filled topper that begins with a clear base and is filled to the top with delicious glitters and is then amped up to the next level with holographic glitters that give it an extra shiny spark. Glitters include: matte peach and white hex, metallic orange hex, and holo orange hex."

Everyone needs a dreamy pink in their springtime collection. Here we have Strawberry Cream.

Strawberry Cream is a luscious 2-coater with a shimmer to take it from a beautiful cream to a fabulous pink stunner!

And to top it off like a Sundae, here is Strawberry Twinkle!

And finally, the Aubergines! Now, I had to look up this word because frankly, I didn’t know what it meant! 😉 Aubergine is actually another word for eggplant! Now, although this could be a pastel version of that deep purple squash, you’ll see the true eggplant shade in it’s sister’s glitter. Here is Aubergine Cream.

Aubergine Cream is a great 2-coat polish with a bit of iridescent flash. I accented her with a light layer of Aubergine Twinkle.

And paired with the cream this glitter is too gorgeous. Here is the last of the collection Aubergine Twinkle.

Reminiscent of Easter egg colors and springtime blooms, you’ll definitely want this collection. I highly recommend them!

My NOTD with indigo tips

NOTD ✨ I am loving this combo using some new shades from Cult Cosmetics 😊 That gorgeous lavender creme is The Roxy, my blue tips are from a fantastic indigo shimmer called House of Blues. Then finished with the holographic topcoat on the tips called Hollywood Bowl!

This is so easy, a cave girl could do it!

Here are the shades I used. Great formulas all.

Unchartered Waters by Spell Polish makes a splash!

What can I say? I’m a sucker for multichromes. And the newest collection by Spell Polish from the “Magichromes™ Magic Happens” do not disappoint. I have two to share with you, so I’ll review one today and I should have the other swatched early next week. Here is a breathtaking beauty called Unchartered Waters.

Unchartered Waters is a true shade shifter.

Unchartered Waters is a true shade shifter.

It’s always tricky capturing variations of colors presented by multichrome polishes. So I took two different angle shots of UW, although there are more shades to this lil wonder depending on the lighting and angle.

Unchartered Waters showing off its blueness!

Second angle shimmering purple tones with reddish tints.

Spell Polish describes Unchartered Waters as, “Aqua/Teal/Turquoise Blue, then Purple, then Red/Gold hints… this is a BOLD color shifter that will have you mesmerized.”

On the accent nail I simply added one layer of Spell Polish “Light As A Feather” from the “it Was Written in the Stars” Collection. I love the iridescence with the multichrome!

Spell Polishes are in .50 oz bottles and are 5-free, cruelty-free nail lacquers featuring luxurious formulas of glitters, micas and pigments. They strive to bring you a polish free of toxins—NO Toluene, NO Formaldehyde, NO Camphor, NO Formaldehyde Resin and NO DBP (Dibutyl Phthalate).

Funky dry marble with a great Cult Cosmetics duo!

This will be short and sweet, but I had to share with you this delightful couple. I love using El Porto, a perfect white canvas for any nail art. And I’ve been wanting to do another water marble anyway. Here I used this plush purply periwinkle called Catalina.

Cult Cosmetics polishes are so easy to use for nail art. They are a dream to work with and so glossy!

Cult Cosmetics polishes are so easy to use for nail art. They are a dream to work with and so glossy!

All you need to do is lay a medium coat of your base color then immediately drip on a few dots of your marbling color, then lightly swirl, with a fine dotting tool, brush or stick. If you make a mistake, no worries. Reprint when dry and start over! Finish with a clear topcoat when your colors are totally dry. Voila! Here are the two colors I used. I’ve be asked to post a tutorial for this look so I promise you when I get time, I’ll edit this post and display the photos here on this blog post.

Catalina and El Porto. Yes, those are some Morning Glories from around my house. I've got tons of them! :-)

Sincerely love the new Garden of Eden Spring shades from Sincerely Polish!

Shellflower

Shellflower

I love Springtime and thank you Karen Jo at Sincerely Polish for creating these gorgeous floral polishes in the Garden of Eden collection! I started out sampling beautiful minty green Shellflower. It’s got a faint smattering of iridescent microglitter, enough for that extra shine, but not so much as to change the creamy formula.

Don't you love this minty green?

Don’t you love this minty green?

I tried to set the camera a bit out of focus on the macro shots to show you how pretty the iridescent glitters shine. Just the right amount.

The first coat goes on a bit thin, but by the second coat, and I used a thicker layer the second time around, fills in nicely. The same method was used on the Primrose shown in this blog. I’ll be posting a followup on the other three shades from this collection as soon as I locate my props! The other three will be Sweet Pea, Petunia and Bluestar.

Sigh, why is it I have such a hard time removing each polish when I have to go on to the next swatch?
Look at that! Shining like the sun.

They are so pretty, wait! I can paint my toes and leave them on a good long while. No way am I going to show you my feet. Take my word on that! 😉

Two Gypsies Lacquer, like rainbows of joy!

Two Gypsies Lacquer, like rainbows of joy!

Two Gypsies Michelle Hill’s gorgeous indie polishes can be described as blingy, delicate, feminine, edgy, sparkly, gorgeous! She sent me these three soon-to-be-released Spring 2014 beauties to review and here they are in all their glory. In fact they will be released on April 4th.

I’ll start with this stunning glitter jelly called Tide Pools.

Tide Pools is loaded with sparkling goodies.

Tide Pools is loaded with sparkling goodies.

Tide Pools is a dark blue jelly base and it’s like looking into a tide pool on a beach at midnight. Like reflections of a starry sky, you cannot take your eye off your nails. If I didn’t have to swatch so many other polishes today I’d have left this stunner on!
You may already know, I'm all about the beach. So this one had me at hello!

You’ll find, without fishing ;-), blue hexagons, white stars, yellow circles, light blue small hexagons, green hexagons, gold glitters, gold hexes, orange hexes, large pale blue rounds, turquoise hexes and more.

Now onto the next masterpiece. Pretty and versatile Gold Stone!

I painted this over both a gold base and a fold shimmery rose toned polish.

Gold Stone is a clear base with a glorious amount of large pink hexes, large light pink rounds, small yellow rounds, gold rounds, pink and fold glitters, red hexagons, large pink rounds, holo glitters and probably a bunch more. But you know, my eyes are old, so 🙂

Every glitter you can imagine makes this rosey gold gem a winner.

Wild Wisteria. So simple and elegant, yet look closely and you’ll see complexity. I’ve always dreamed of having a Wisteria tree in my yard. It’s that old south elegance, and it’s so dreamy. This pale lavender polish has a slight blue undertone and it has a delicate shimmer.

Wild Wisteria, so delicate!

Wild Wisteria, so delicate!

Application was a tiny bit challenging for me. I didn’t use a base coat, and I think this would have made the first of three layers easier. It’s on the sheer side but three coats does the trick. I can’t wait to wear this with a tan!

Wild Wisteria is a stunning shimmer polish.

A macro shot showed me what was shimmering inside. Tiny little iridescent flakies!

Look into the bottle...mesmerizing isn't it?

That’s it for now! It can make for a long day, but when you swatch so many lovelies that you can’t bear to remove, it’s worth it!
