3 Beauties from the Indigo Bananas – A Delos Holiday collection

Recently I got to try three of the Winter 2016 A Delos Holiday collection by Indigo Bananas. I want to jump right in here and say the formulas are perfect! So easy to apply, base coat recommended and top coat optional, they are shiny!

NOTE: I was going to get this posed over the weekend, but Saturday morning my son and I hit by a hit and run driver, we were coming out of a stop sign intersection in a residential area, and the cross traffic was empty, except…a guy came barreling down and I didn’t see him, and he hit me at a full 30 mph! We are ok, I’m still a bit sore but nothing broken, but my car 😥 The guy that ran into me took off, so there’s that. Anyway, thank God for insurance as he is nowhere to be found, yet. So I am back on my feet, onward and forward!

Master of Your Reality from the Winter 2016 A Delos Holiday by Indigo Bananas (currently unavailable, contact them to find out), is a multichrome holographic color shifting 2-coater, smooth as butter! It shifts from deep purple/deep blue/medium teal with gorgeous silver holo flakies!

Two thin smooth coats of “These Violet Delights Have Violet Ends” by Indigo Bananas from the Winter 2016 A Delos Holiday, is described as, “a vibrant, very strongly color shifting multichrome nail polish, with a linear holographic effect as well as holographic flakies. ILNP Spring Jelly Collection is blooming brilliant!

Happy Spring to all you lovers of this seasons colors. I have two beautiful Spring ILNP collections to share with you which I will present one today and the other later in the week. Today’s collection is the ILNP Jelly Collection. Six super smooth, glossy and sparkly jellies to sink your teeth into. First, let me share with you a taste of springtime in Texas! The Bluebonnets are in bloom and a host of other glorious colors with Indian Paintbrush, wild Buttercups and the delicate, yet thorny Mesquite.

I shot this at my daughter’s farm. Central Texas countryside in the spring is a sight to behold!

And onto the ILNP Spring Jelly collection! They are all sheer to start and can be worn many ways, 2-4 coats for semi-sheer to fully opaque, sandwich them or whatever! All are smooth and glossy. They are $10ea or $60 for the ILNP Spring Jelly 2016 set.

Let’s begin with Bffs. A grape jelly with tons of sparkle and personality.

I applied 3 easy coats of BFFs. BFF’s is described as “a tastily translucent concord grape jelly loaded with holographic goodness. Jello Shot will make your mouth water!

Jello Shot in 3 coats. So glossy, it’s juicy! Jello Shot is described as “a deliciously juicy paradise pink jelly that packs a jaw-dropping holographic punch thanks to a generous assortment of oversized holographic goodness! You’ll find the glass-like translucency of Jello Shot lends itself to an incredible finish. Get ready to go nuts over the amazing depth and color saturation you can build with each coat! Night Light! Who doesn’t need a bit of light and sparkle when the sun goes down?!

This is 3 coats. Remember, jellies dry super glossy and are sheer on the first coat. Really, this is nearly opaque enough to get away with 2 coats, depending on your free edge. Night Light is described as “a beautifully crisp deep blue-violet jelly loaded with holographic micro-flakes. This versatile holographic can be worn alone or paired with other shades for an incredibly unique custom shade! Easily built up or sandwiched, the sheer formula of our jellies make way for our scattered holographic micro-flakes to work their magic all the way through each layer right down to your nails! The end result is a super crisp and sparkly finish with unmistakable depth. Fully opaque in 3 to 4 coats!”

Sandy Baby will compliment every skin tone and it’s oh so delicate.

A serious sheer knockout that can be worn over a base, by itself, sandwiched, or built up heavily for a jaw dropping manicure with incredible depth and a mind blowingly vivid holographic sparkle! Easily built up or sandwiched, the sheer formula of our jellies make way for our scattered holographic micro-flakes to work their magic all the way through each layer right down to your nails! The end result is a super crisp and sparkly finish with unmistakable depth. Fully opaque in 3 to 4 coats!”

Here are a few fabulous facts for your shopping pleasure.

Valerie is a stunning shade that reminds me of pomegranate juice!

Valerie in 3 coats, 2 was nearly opaque for me. Valerie is described as “a stunning and incomparable mulberry leaning jelly that is a real show-stopper in any lighting. Build up to a few layers and prepare to be amazed at the deliciousness on your fingertips! Easily built up or sandwiched, the sheer formula of our jellies make way for our scattered holographic micro-flakes to work their magic all the way through each layer right down to your nails! The end result is a super crisp and sparkly finish with unmistakable depth. Fully opaque in 3 to 4 coats!”

Sweet Pea, as fresh as the blooming flower it’s named after.

Sweet Pea in 3 coats! Super smooth. Sweet Pea is described as “a graceful and sweet seashell pink jelly that is incredibly versatile! This sheer stunner wears beautifully alone for a subtle pop of color with a glass-like shine and intense holographic sparkle or take it a step further and sandwich it with another favorite! Easily built up or sandwiched, the sheer formula of our jellies make way for our scattered holographic micro-flakes to work their magic all the way through each layer right down to your nails! The end result is a super crisp and sparkly finish with unmistakable depth. Fully opaque in 3 to 4 coats!”

Conclusion: All six of these jellies were smooth as silk to apply. I recommend applying thin layers to maximize the dry time. I waited about 3 minutes after each coat. I have virtually no cleanup to do as these polishes apply without pooling and clean nicely to the brush. Every shade was super glossy, and the added sparkle set these jellies apart. I highly recommend this collection. I’d have loved to see a grass-green but maybe one is coming down the road. Love love love these!

Baroness X group custom Doomfire is hot!

Unless you are totally new to Facebook or have been living under a rock, you may realize by now that belonging to a fan group for cosmetics comes with perks. I’ll get right to the point. CND Vinylux Weekly Polish collection “Contradictions” pt. 3

Today’s post is the final installment of my review and swatches of CND VINYLUX Weekly Polish collection (also available in Shellac), Contradictions. It has been a joy to play with these fabulous polishes. Highly pigmented and application-perfect, this set of fall shades is impressive. Here are the final four, Tartan Punk, Peacock Plume, Safety Pin and Poison Plum!

I had a little fun with a Tartan design on my accent nail using red Tartan Punk, a 1-2 coater, deep shimmery blue Peacock Plume and a touch of chromey Safety Pin.

Peacock Plume is a lovely deep blue creme with flecks of green and blue micro glitter.

Tartan Punk is a classic bright red creme.

Here’s a fun “did you know” moment! According to Wikipedia, Tartan is a pattern consisting of criss-crossed horizontal and vertical bands in multiple colours. Tartans originated in woven wool, but now they are made in many other materials. Tartan is particularly associated with Scotland. And finally, Poison Plum and Safety Pin to finish out this sassy set of Contradictions!

Poison Plum is hard to capture it deep plum jelly shade with it’s red glitters within, but believe me, it’s not black! Which is why I included a sunshine shot. 1-2 coats for full opacity. Safety pin is a gorgeous metallic chrome with a slight golden tint in the right light. 1-2 coats.

Two more beauties from ILNP Summer 2015 Collection

I’ve got a ways to go with my swatches from indie polish company’s ILNP (I Love Nail Polish) Summer collections. But I’ve been in the middle of a move and I’m just trying to get caught up. I had already swatched these two gorgeous polishes from the Summer collection for 2015. Now that I’m “somewhat” settled, I wanted to get these posted asap.

First up from the 11 bottles in this collection is So Coral! It’s a tan lover!

Baroness X Nail Lacquer new collection, NeoElectro trio is coming soon!

First, let me get a tiny bit of business out-of-the-way. As you know (if you follow me on Instagram, and you should 😉 We have been planning a big move to Texas from Missouri. Now that has happened as of Monday, I’m slowly getting back to a bit of my regular posting routine. Sorry if it seems my blog presence has been a bit spotty in the past month. After living in the same home for 17 years, moving, fixing, sorting, purging and packing was more daunting than I imagined! But we’ve accomplished this phase (moving into our daughter and her hubby’s home while we househunt) and we are super pleased to be here! I’m getting caught up with my posts, which the next few are swatches I had already done before our trip and now time to post! I also trimmed the length of my nails down to keep them from breaking too badly during the move. Thank you for your patience.

Now for the important schtuff! lol This is my first experience with indie brand, Baroness X Nail Lacquer and I couldn’t be more pleased with this cute collection, NeoElectro. Owner, Demi Lee, also has a lot of other gorgeous polishes on her site as well. These formulas are all top notch, and really unique. They are set to release on July 29th, just around the corner. Let’s take a look!

The Neo Electro collection from left: FluoroFizz, Electric Sparks and Neon Bubbles. Each set comes with a set of Flair Free Mani Bombs and 4 hair ties! These are healthy minis in 8 ml size, which cost $18. The full size set (15 ml) size set is $27 and you can purchase full size individually for $10 ea.

First up is FluroFizz and I’ll share with you images both in direct sunlight and a well-lit room.

FluoroFizz is a gorgeous neon pink jelly filled with Spectraflair in the base and the glitters are a mix of matte and holo black glitter (the large circles are holo and some of the smaller glitters are as well. It loves the sun!

FlouroFizz in well lit room, not direct sunlight as in the other photo, but still has tons of pop! This is a fabulous formula, only 2-3 coats, this is 2.

Next up is the brilliant Electric Sparks. This one really has kaboom!

Electric Sparks in the sun is gorgeous! I say gorgeous with a singing voice! lol On the ring finger you’ll notice I painted one coat over white for an in-your-face highlighter effect. Or you can wear it slightly toned down with 3-4 coats over the bare nail. Easy to apply, easy to remove.

Electric Sparks in indoor natural light. You can still see the glitzy sterling silver flakies even without direct sunlight. Stunning!

And a macro shot of Electric Sparks because it’s just mesmerizing!

Macro of Electric Sparks. So simple but complex to describe. The highlighter yellow/green jelly base contains various small sizes of silver flakies. This gives them the appearance of having a golden hue, especially in the sun. It stunning! This is the nail with one coat over a white base.

And the third in this little collection is Neon Bubbles. How cute is this one?!

Neon Bubbles, even the name is fun! Here she is in full sunlight. I didn’t try her alone, but this is one coat, smooth as silk. over a deep fuscia gloss. NB is filled with neon micro glitters of pink, aqua, yellow, green, and black. I think I got them all, OH!…and holo glitter.

4 gorgeous lacquers from wHet by Me! Bath

If you’ve never had the opportunity to try wHet nail lacquers, you NEED to get your hands on them. I have never been disappointed by any of them. Highly glossy finishes, rich pigments and longlasting wear, you can’t go wrong with these polishes and they are worth every penny. Let’s get right to them.

I’ll start with the gorgeously reformulated pink creme, Ethereal.

Only needing 2 coats, the newly reformulated, highly pigmented high shine Ethereal is a perfect pink creme.

I love a good gold polish and although I supposed I own plenty, they all have different qualities. I love Opulent because the formula is so superior to many I’ve tried.

Opulent is that “must-have” gold. Super easy to apply, rich and luxurious, only 2 coats.

Hubris is one of the stunning coral/salmon cremes that look fabulous on every skin tone. Love this!!!

Hubris is somewhere between coral and pale salmon. Highly pigmented and super glossy, it only requires 2 coats.

And last, but a new fave of mine, Yesternight! Wow, I can’t wait to try this in the fall. Such a deep blackberry and since it’s sort of a jelly the shine is never-ending. Of course it’s perfect for any time of year, but I think it has Fall written all over it.

I was so pleasantly surprised with Yesternight. I really thought it was going to be black, but it’s a rich blackberry jelly-like polish and is very pigmented and super glossy. Only 2 coats.

Summery new shades from Madam Glam!

Today I want to share with you a few of the new shades (available now) from Madam Glam. I’ll start with four polishes today but I’ve got a ton more to share with you from this fabulous indie brand! Let’s get started!

Today I’m sharing the first set of so many new delightful shades that have joined the Madam Glam fam! Cremes and a jelly, From left, are: Lucky Bamboo, Cashmere, Summer Nights and Holy Yellow.

First up is a creme that will surely get attention this summer! First up is Lucky Bamboo. So fresh 🙂

Oh how I DO love this one! My camera couldn’t handle the brightness but I think I pretty much captured it’s bleached out neonness (yes, I went there) of this pale green. I have not acquired a tan yet (too much rain here this spring) but these kinds of shades “luckily” will make you think you have one! Two easy coats to glossy perfection.

Next is a refreshing orange called Summer Nights.

Ahh, we all love Summer Nights and I’m excited to see this lovely tangerine creme with my favorite time of year. 2 coats.

You know it has to be summertime around the corner when the yellows show up. Here is Holy Yellow.

Ahh, Holy Yellow! You toyed with my camera but this jelly will make your yellow lovin’ friends jellie! It takes 2 to 3 coats for full opacity as is the way with most jellies but dries nice and glossy. It reminds me of those lemon drop candies! Ooh, I just got an idea! Add a bit of sugary top coat for a real Lemon Drop mani! Hmmm…

And last for today is a delicate pale grey, Cashmere.

Cashmere glides on to a perfect and glossy finish in 2 coats. I love this kind of pale dove grey. I think it would make a perfect office appropriate shade!

In conclusion, I LOVED every one of these. I will be posting more in the coming week. Get your hands on these now!

More awesomeness from Madam Glam

Madam Glam, I salute you! I received five polishes from Madam Glam and every single one goes beyond my expectations. I am telling you, if you haven’t tried their nail lacquers, DO NOT HESITATE another moment. They are phenominal. I haven’t had a chance yet to try the other cosmetics but I can imagine they are just as impressive. I wanted to share these with you immediately!

I HAVE start out with a Valentine’s Day nail art since tomorrow is the big day. Now I’m no pro or even try to give you the impression that I’m any kind of nail artist. But hand painted hearts I can do. Since I received a pretty pastel pink polish called “In Love” I spied it as the perfect base for my Vday mani. In Love is described as, “”You don’t have to be in love to fall in love with this shade! An innocent pale pink that brings back the memory of your first romance.” Two coats!

Next, here is your next lemming! If you are looking for a ONE-COATER neon that won’t stain, that isn’t completely matte, you won’t need an undie white to make it stand out, is 5-free and will absolutely sear your eyes with brilliant neon awesomeness, Mint Cocktail is for you. In fact, since you’re going to want this on your nails and your toes this summer, you should probably order a backup. I just kept saying, “Wow!” as I applied this quick drying hyper-pigmented showstopper. Lookee! 🙂 I was also sent a fab GLOSSY AS HECK black called Black Hole that is perfect in two coats. Also an essential in your polish arsenal and it’s what I used for accent here. Mint Cocktail is described as, “”Let this breathtaking shade see the light and you’re sure to have an amazing mood for the day. Vitalizing and full of surprises, you won’t regret giving a punchy touch to your nails.” When I saw my Instagram bud Miss Holly Berries review Mint Cocktail, and saw her swatch on her Youtube channel I was blown away. And if the brains behind Madam Glam shades are listening in, please please please create a hot pink, neon blue and neon orange in this formula! We’ll be bowing down before you chanting, “we’re not worthy, we’re not worthy!” 😉

What can I say but Mint Cocktail is PERFECT! It’s the brightest neon green I have in my whole collection so far. One coat. Did you get that? ONE COAT! Accented with Black Hole.

The weather this month is turning out to be another “snowpocalypse” for some in the USA. So who isn’t dreaming of sunny spring and summer days? Here is Sea, Swing and Sun to inspire you. Two coats! Sea, Swing and Sun is described as, “Imagine being in front of clear caribbean waters under a cloudless sky. Here’s the most adorable pastel baby blue to make you feel like summer is around.” Two coats!

• One heavy coat or two thin coats for full opacity
• Very smooth to apply

Sea, Swing and Sun is like a sunny blue summer sky.

It’s only February and we still have some chilly days and nights ahead. Make A Wish is a blue glitter combo with it’s dark jelly base is perfect for those cold snowy times. It reminds me of a winter midnight sky. I painted one coat over Black Hole. Make A Wish is described as, “Your wish for the perfect glittery blue nail polish came true with this gorgeous nail polish shade. Now you can sparkle all year long!” One coat over Black Hole.

• Glitter/jelly
• One coat over base coat, black is superb, 2-3 coats alone
• On the thick side, but smooth to apply

Make A Wish in a grayed jelly base is full of blue wonder. I applied one thin coat over Black Hole and topped with a coat of Gelous topcoat.
