Tahitian Sun polishes adds sparkle to your fingers and toes!

Two sparkling summertime metallics from Tahitian Sun. Metallic Silver and Metallic Gold. Those bottles!!!!

Okay, I’m a sucker for flashy polish bottles and Tahitian Sun custom polishes really hit home with my beach lovin’ heart with their sandy bottle tops with real starfish embellishments. Wow!

Tahitian Sun went full on with creativity and the beachy tropical theme reflects as well with the bottles and caps. I love the sandy lids with a real mini starfish on top!

And now for the fun part. Here are two of their sparkling metallics. Metallic Silver and Gold. And a luscious berry shade, Raspberry.

Tahitian Sun Metallic Silver is a silver glitter metallic Nail Polish in a super opaque metallic finish, 0.5 fl oz / 15ml bottle with flat brush and 2 inch sand-like cap topped with a mini starfish. 1-2 coats of this sparkler!

Tahitian Sun Metallic Gold is a sparkly gold Nail Polish in a glitter metallic finish, 0.5 fl oz / 15ml bottle with flat brush and 2 inch sand-like cap topped with a mini starfish. I used 3 smooth coats here.

Gorgeous Tahitian Sun Raspberry! 2-3 coats, here is two. I also added a gel-like top coat. There is a slightly textured glossy finish due to the ton of holo within. A good heavy duty topcoat will smooth that right out.

Tahitian Sun Raspberry is a heavy holo raspberry red in a jelly-like raspberry base.

Toxic Free Ingredients (5-FREE)
All of our products contain “No Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalat, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, or Camphor”. We take pride in being a toxic 5-Free alternative.
Toluene. The least harmful of the toxic trio, toluene is a volatile organic compound (VOC) that is found in paints, thinners, and inks. Despite giving nail polish its ability to dry quickly, toluene is still a harmful chemical. The ingredient is also classified by the California Department Of Public Health Occupational Health Branch California Safe Cosmetics Program as cancer-causing.
Dibutyl phthalate (DBP). DBP is a carcinogen found in paints, plastics, and pesticides that stops nail polish from being brittle. It is classified by the European Union as a suspected endocrine disrupter and Health Canada has linked it to liver and kidney failure in children.
Formaldehyde. Similar to DBP, formaldehyde is also classified as a known human carcinogen by The International Agency for Research on Cancer. It allows nail polish to harden and chip less, but can lead to fatigue, skin irritation, and immune dysfunction in users.
Formaldehyde resin. While similar to formaldehyde, no link between cancer and formaldehyde resin has been found. The resin helps strengthen nails, but is a skin allergen and immune system toxicant that can cause dermatitis.
Camphor. Camphor is created by distilling the bark of a camphor tree. Although natural, inhaling or having large exposure to camphor can be toxic, create irritation, and cause seizures in children.

ILNP Holiday Collection 2015…they will drop you in your tracks!

Today I get to share with you one of two new collections from ILNP Boutique Nail Lacquer…2015 Holiday Collection. And they are available now! Get your sunglasses ready because every one of these are so shiny, you may need to squint.

Next is the gorgeous green I used to pair with this gorgeous gilded lacquer, Lucky One.

This one really took my breath away. Although Limelight in the Holiday collection, I think it will make a gorgeous summertime polish!

Oh my, I fell instantly in love with this brilliant lime green metallic! The one Ultra Chrome Flakie that snuck into this glittery crowd is Ferris Wheel. Don’t you love?!

• Conclusion: No surprise here. I LOVE this whole collection. You may notice that most of my images are taken in different lighting and angles. I usually try to keep them consistent within a collection, but because of the different ways these each catch the light, I found it behooved me to think outside the box and just go with my instincts.

Madam Glam, you never cease to amaze me!

It’s been a little while since I have had a chance to post anything from Madam Glam Cosmetics. Between packing moving, buying a house, packing again, moving again, holidays and company, I’m finally getting back into the groove with my favorite indie girls! I have a few amazing products to share with you this evening. Now I’ve tried many many polishes from MG, but this time, I also got the chance to try out an amazing polish remover and a Quick Dry top coat.

Madam Glam Express Nail Polish Remover (Dip & Twist) is just as incredible as the label says! And the Quick Dry topcoat is great because not only does it dry super glossy and fast, it’s not annoyingly thick like some commercial brands…ahem SV cough cough. LOL

I have tried those department store sponge dip removers before. They are ok but they are just acetone and a sponge. It took me just as long with those to remove polish as if they were from a bottle. But Madam Glad Express Nail Polish Remover is a wonder to behold. In fact, I’d like to see this is a giant sponge bottle! This stuff is FAST! 3 seconds average to remove, 9-10 seconds for ornery glitter. I did a short video which I’ll share on my Instagram feed, because I don’t have permissions here on WordPress to share it. Dip, twist and your nail comes out totally clean. The only thing I would change is the sponge did come apart a tiny bit. Not sure what happened but a few tiny fragments of the black sponge within came out on my finger. Maybe it was just a few pieces from when the sponge was installed. So if that is normal, no worries. But if we could have sponge that doesn’t shed, that would make this a perfect product. That being said, the magic is in the remover! I also used by cleanup brush dipped into it when cleaning up my manicure and it whisked away every trace for super quick cleanup. Here’s what Madam Glam says about it:

I give this product 2 clean thumbs up! Now, about the Quick Dry Topcoat. Love it! I’m always on the lookout for a great glossy topcoat that dries fast, doesn’t get thick or sticky and speeds up my whole mani operation. As much as I swatch, it’s pretty important that I have a good reliable topcoat. Here is what Madam Glam has to say about it:

If you’re tired of waiting for your mani to dry, this is the solution!

– And surprise it’s already dry!

On to the four gorgeous shades I have to show you. I’ll just post the photos here and let them speak for themselves!

Pastel Sky is described as, “Azure Blue”. This pale blue creme is super pigmented, dries fast and smooth in 1-2 coats. Caribbean Island (be still my heart, SO in love with this one!)…It’s described as a bright mint. This mega opaque creme is fully opaque in 1-2 coats. It really reminds me of the shallow shoreline of a Caribbean island!

Pastel Sky is a baby blue creme with surprisingly opaque coverage. I’d say this is pretty close to that Pantone blue shade for 2016!

Oh my! I am predicting this will be on my fingers and toes a lot this summer! Girls if you love minty cremes this glossy stunner needs to be in your collection!

Original Sin is described as “A flirty bright red”. This creme is buttery smooth, sort of like a crelly, dries super glossy in 1-2 coats. I would describe Golden Beauty as a while gold micro glitter is super dense and slightly textured, very slight. One coat of topcoat, I used the amazing Madam Glad Quick Dry, will create a glossy smooth finish if desired.

Original Sin is a classic red. As in, little red dress red! It dries super glossy I think because it’s nearly a jelly, but not quite.

Here is Golden Beauty, 2 coats, and accented with Original Sin. One coat of topcoat for a semi smooth finish, 2 coats of topper for a more glass-like look.

Mosi Mei…some gift worthy holiday shades!

Social is an iridescent medium cool green shimmer polish. 2-3 coats. Smooth as silk and super glossy.

Three stunning lacquers from Mosi Mei

Profound is a super glossy pine green creme, two coats, amazing formula.

And to top it off, here is sparkly pale gold called Dreamier.

Dreamier is fully opaque in two coats, very very slight texture. Here I show you how it makes a lovely gradient over Profound. Easy removal!

Indie polish maker Mosi Mei continues to impress

I’m back with three more winners for great fall shades from Mosi Mei. When you think of indie polish, you get pretty excited about how these makers think outside the box. They almost set the standard in creativity regarding formulas, finishes and shades. Then there are those who make you wonder, how can this indie be an indie? Are we setting stereotypes, setting indie makers apart from their commercial big name counterparts? Well, little companies like Mosi Mei can really give big name commercial cosmetics a run for their money. With every finish and formula I’ve tested to date, Mosi Mei has continued to astonish me. Let’s take a look at today’s picks!

Here are some dark and mysterious shades from Mosi Mei. These are so luxurious! From bottom left, then clockwise: Loyal, Proud and Dangerous.

Let’s start with Loyal. There are black polishes, then there are silky black polishes! Is it a blackened blue with shimmer? I don’t know. It’s gorgeous and I’m totally in love with this!

Loyal, an opaque, Ultra shine black metallic. 1-2 coats, and the formula is absolutely perfect. It’s got that microshimmer that leans deep blue in the creamy black. Stunning!

Next is a Dangerous. She’s bloody gorgeous!

Dangerous, an opaque, Ultra shine oxblood red creme. 2-3 buttery coats.

And last for today is Proud. A perfect purple creme if there ever was one!

Proud, an opaque, Ultra shine deep purple creme that glides on like a dream. 2 coats.

More awesome Autumn shades from Mosi Mei luxury nail lacquer

Today I’ve chosen four more fall fashion shades from the Mosi Mei luxury nail lacquer store at www.mosimei.com. All of these have superior formulas today have immense shine apply like a dream. If you got to read my first review (HERE) you’ll know how impressed I already am! Let’s get started!

Here are some fall fashion lacquer choices from the Mosi Mei store. From left: Original, Modern, Debonair and Secure. All are Ultra Shine glosses.

Let’s start with that glossy deep purple which I’m an immediate sucker for, Original.

Original is an opaque Ultra shine deep dusty purple, 2-coat creme. This is your fall purple folks!

Here is Original mattified with Mosi Mei’s own Matte topcoat.

Here is “Original” mattified with Mosi Mei Matte. A quick drying, very mattifying Matte topcoat. It imparts such a velvety feel to any polish.

Next up is a super shiny pale grey, Modern. It’s a clean palette for your fall nail art!

Modern is an opaque Ultra shine, pale cool toned grey, 1-coat creme.

One of the glossiest deep blues I’ve ever tried, Debonair!

Debonair is an opaque Ultra gloss deep navy blue, creme. Is there a description beyond Ultra? Mega maybe? lol

And last, for today that it, a chocolatey brown, Secure.

Secure is an opaque Ultra shine medium brown, 2-coat creme. It’s like a melted chocolate bar on your fingertips!

First review for indie polish Mosi Mei!

I was recently contacted by Candace, founder and ceo of the indie polish maker, Mosi Mei in regards to reviewing their products. I am so thrilled she did! I was immediately delighted to see the square-shaped bottles, high-end packaging and attention to detail. The company has a lot to offer and that’s including nail treatments such as base coat, top coats and matte which I tested along with the first four shades. I have many more coming so stay tuned. For today I’ll be sharing some fall appropriate shades. I’m going to preface the first four shades with a rundown of the basic nail treatments. Let’s take a look!

Descriptions of the treatments:
SHINE – A high shine finish.
I am the perfect top coat to add strength and a chip resistant top layer to any nail hue. I dry quickly and help keep MOSI MEI nail hues on 2x3X longer. You only need to apply 1 coat of SHINE top coat and you are ready to go!

GLASS – A ultra high shine, gel-like wet look finish. I am the perfect top coat to any nail hue for a mega unique wet look effect. Formulated to be used with nail hues for a 2-3X longer lasting and chip resistant finish. Quick drying and lush looking. Look no further for your perfect top coat. Oh, and I do dry clear – don’t be fooled by my pink tone. You only need to apply 1 coat of GLASS top coat and you are ready to go!

BASE – A solid and grounding base for all nail hues. I am the perfect foundation to add strength and long-lasting staying power that help nail hues last 2-3X longer.
You only need to apply 1 coat of BASE base coat and you are ready for your favorite nail hue!

MATTE – A velvety luxe finish.
I am the perfect top coat to any nail hue if you want a matte, sleek and urban luxe look to your nail hue. You can apply me to metallic, satin, and gloss nail hues and I will change their appearance to a smooth velvet finish.  Formulated to be used with nail hues for a 2-3X longer lasting and chip resistant lifespan. Quick drying and sleek. You only need to apply 1 coat of MATTE top coat and you are ready to go!

Now for the fun part! Here are the first four shades in this series:

Perfect fall shades, from left: Feisty, Tough, Creative and Edgy.

First up is Feisty. And this red wonder is so glossy, it’s blinding!

Feisty is a blood red creme bordering on a crelly. Only needs two coats, highly pigmented and glides on like a dream. She’s seriously breathtaking!

Next up is Creative. If you love purple with shimmer, this one’s for you!

Creative is the perfect name for this shimmery purple with it’s satiny finish. Note: I wanted you to see how nicely the Matte topcoat works and it’s on the pointer finger. The Shine topcoat is on the ring finger while the middle and pinky show you how it looks alone.

Want the perfect patent leather black? Here is Tough!

Tough is so shiny, I giggled! Love this perfect black.

Last is Edgy… a shimmery brown.

Edgy is a coffee bean brown with shimmer. Yum!

Mosi Mei says, “Mosi Mei is whoever you are, wherever you are, never defined by one style and always inspired by color, we think everyone is a Mosi Mei!” And MM lacquers come in a wide range of formulas and finishes including cremes, glitters, satins, metallics and effects. They “…make what we love, with love…because passion and creation are what we live for, no exceptions.” MM says they exist “to share our love for color and everything it does for the spirit.” I can’t agree more. Imagine a black and white world with no texture and color. Indeed, that my dears, is why we paint!

Some cool facts Candace told me about Mosi Mei! “Although we are fairly new we have been featured on Hautelook, and in Wantable boxes for a few different months, and have some press coming out in the coming months as well. We will be in quite a few subscription boxes next year and are excited about some retail locations we will soon announce.” I see big things for this amazing company. Indies rock!

Conclusion: I am thoroughly pleased so far with not only the nail treatments, but the range of shades, finishes, packaging and high quality formulas. The cremes are glossy as heck, and the formulas are excellent in every way. Easy to apply and fast to medium drying, 1-2 coats. What more can you as for?!
