Greetings all! We find ourselves between Thanksgiving and Christmas and as we finish off the leftover turkey, it’s already time to hang the greens and shop for gifts! I totally overdid it, as usual, and maxed out my pain threshold while decorating for Christmas. I spent the good part of the week in deep seering pain and although I’m on the mend, the discomfort in my shoulder has somewhat subsided and is traveling down into my knuckles. But hey, all for a good cause right? lol This getting older stuff is no fun. I still have shopping to do, and ugh, the thought of rolling out more pie dough makes me wince. At least my house looks picture perfect 😉
Regardless of the old lady pains the past week, the swatching must go on, right?! Today, I have some gorgeous gel polishes from Madam Glam. Always so many fun new things arriving at MadamGlam.com. You can also now find lipsticks there, and brand new, a nail color dipping powder system. Yay! So let’s get on with the swatches….
Tomboy is a deep forest green shimmer gel polish by Madam Glam. I have to say, one of my favorites by MG! Perfect for the holiday season! 2 coats.
I LOVE this kind of green and it’s perfect for holiday and winter manis. That extra sparkle is perfect!
Glittery plum is another gorgeous shimmery gel polish by Madam glam. A delicate sparkly plum shade, also perfect for your holiday mani.
Glittery Plum is so juicy! I love this kind of shade and it goes on super smooth.
Higher Spirit is a latte shimmer shade that has sort of a white gold effect when the magnet is applied before curing. This Madam Glam Cat Eye gel polish is stunning and elegant! 2 coats alone over base gel.
I love Cat Eye polishes, like really really love them! So versatile and this shade is what I would call an office appropriate polish.
How fun is this?! Sprinkle Jam is a one of a long line of fun and super easy to use One Step gel polishes by Madam Glam. It’s an emerald multi faceted glitter, tiny to medium glitters with a few micro bars thrown in for extra sparkle. This clear gel base topper is gorgeous alone in two coats, as seen on my pinky. Or topped over your choice of base shades. I used Madam Glam One Step in a spicy red called Smart Red!
You won’t find a quicker way of applying a cured gel polish than the One Step. No base or top coat necessary and you can layer and mix and match them with ease. Sprinkle Jam is super fun over red.
Conclusion: I think I’ve said it all, but you know when you buy polishes and accessories from Madam Glam, you are definitely getting your money’s worth! Shop now and look for specials as well! Wishing you all a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and heartfelt Holiday wishes!

It’s been awhile since I posted for Born Pretty store so today I have three pretty items to share with you. Next week I’ll be sharing a gorgeous stamping plate that also arrived with these.
Born Pretty Flower Fairy gel in color #6, looks like miniature lavender petals on my nail tips. Can be used over a base color, but I love the look of negative space and nude with this! Cure as you would all gel polishes.Born Pretty Flower Fairy gel in color #6, a pretty lavender flower within a clear gel base. Cure as you would under lamp, then top with gel top coat and cure. I found it easiest to smooth over nail tip, then dab extra flowers with a tiny nail dotting tool. Or you could use a toothpick.Born Pretty Flower Fairy gel in color #6. Also comes in 5 other shades. I love this little container!
Born Pretty Starry Sky glitter #2345 rubbed over black gel polish that has been cured. Very easy to rub in but unlike some of the finer pigments, also leaves a few chunkier flakes but remain smooth. The duochrome chameleon effect is stunning. Here I added a gel matted topcoat over the accent nail, cured, then drops of clear gloss gel topcoat and cured for a water droplet effect.Born Pretty Starry Sky glitters come in 12 shades, this one is very mermaidy, #2345. This glitter is not the super fine powder as often found in powder pigments but can be used the same way. Can also be used to mix into a color or clear polish.
Here is Born Pretty Holo Polish #33 over a blue base. A pretty shifty and glossy chameleon polish.A pretty travel size Chameleon Holo Polish in shade #33 by Born Pretty, comes in this 6 ml size bottle. It looks best over a dark or black color polish. Micro glitters in green blend with a teal to purple shifting base. Can be worn in 3 coats over a bare nail, or only 1 coat over black.
And a fabulous stamping plate, full size with very detailed designs. BP L052.
The Born Pretty stamper BP 052 is a full size rectangle plate with 14 designs and countless options for your stamping pleasure. Here I chose just a few options.A great stamping plate BP L052, nice size, heavy and intricate, so many options.

Today I will be sharing 2 of the 36 Madam Glam Smoothie Gel Collection polish, plus a blushing nude gel polish! I want to mention right away, that my first encounter applying the thicker gel polishes (with glitters) was a bit of a learning experience. For years I’ve developed a method of applying non-gel glitter toppers and polishes in a certain way, thin first then thick and dobbed on. It is not recommended to do it this way with gel because of the way you cure them, you cannot apply thick layers, ever! Although not especially damaging, your curing light will create a chemical heat reaction that is somewhat uncomfortable. Now I know this doesn’t have to happen at all and that applying 2-3 THIN coats cured after each coat does the trick nicely without any discomfort. This even applies to regular gel polishes that lean to the thicker side. Apply thin even coats curing after each. You end up with a smooth, saturated finish. The Smoothies look amazing! Also, I’ll be sharing with you a delicate nude with a hint of peachy pink. Lovely!
Here are two of the Madam Glam Smoothie Gel Collection. Fizzy Laguna and Girly & Creamy, are delicate and creamy. All of the Smoothies come in full size 15 ml bottles with adorable and individually themed labels for extra fun. Note: Madam Glam recommends, “Consistency is thick, thus Smoothie Gels cure much faster! To avoid gel overheating: 1) Apply VERY THIN LAYERS 2) Reduce your regular curing time (3sec/coat for powerful lamp, 15sec/coat for others) Consistency can be sticky – to shake before applying!”Fizzy Laguna from Madam Glam Smoothie Gel Collection in 3 thins coats. It is described as: “Sheer Light Greenish Jelly Base with Green Glitters. For every effervescent girl out there, this combo will match your style for sure. Wear it for at lest 2 weeks, because it will not move!”Girly & Creamy from the Madam Glam Smoothie Gel Collection in 3 thin coats. It is described as: “Sheer White Jelly Base with Red and Blue small Glitters. The girly purple combination is the new recipe for success! Bold and sweet!”
CONCLUSION on the Smoothies: I love the creamy look the Smoothie Gel Collection polishes. The bottles are adorable and the wear is average 2 weeks!
Madam Glam Soak-Off Gel Polishes are high quality professional grade and the formulas are consistently dependable. Over and Over is a nude creme with a hint of blush.Madam Glam Gel Polish, Over and Over, is a 2-coat blushing nude. It’s described as, “Latte…A nude shade that you will feel like wearing over and over again!”
CONCLUSION on Over and Over: I have a ton of nudes and neutral regular polishes, but this is one of my first nude gels. I love how smooth this applies. It’s quite effortless to achieve a perfect finish.
Gels run $19.95 ea and currently, if you buy 4 polishes get 40% off at checkout with CODE ( 40OFF ), and Madam Glam runs specials so DO get on their mailing list! New collections and colors are being added all of the time.

ILNP describes it as, “Manor House is a classy taupe jelly perfect for just about any occasion! The sheer formula of Manor House allows this shade to be built up to relatively full opacity while radiating an incredible amount of depth and clarity for the assortment holographic particles to shine through! The perfect neutral, Manor House plays well in the office and really shows herself off the moment you step outside! If you’re a fan of Sandy Baby, you’ll love Manor House! Easily built up or sandwiched, the sheer formula of our jellies make way for our scattered holographic micro-flakes to work their magic all the way through each layer right down to your nails! The end result is a super crisp and sparkly finish with unmistakable depth. Fully opaque in 3 to 4 coats!”Interstellar in 3 coats. This is YOUR outerspace, galaxy inducing night sky shade and finish! ILNP describes it as, “Don’t pass this one up! Interstellar is a truly magical polish that leans towards a rich navy with occasional hints of teal. At certain angles you may also notice beautiful hues of purple running along the curves of your nail depending on the lighting you’re under. This gorgeous nail polish has been precisely accented with a variety of green color shifting shimmers as well as an assortment of holographic pigments ranging in size for a phenomenally sparkly finish! Fully opaque in 2-3 coats!”
CONCLUSION: I LOVED each one of this collection, all amazing formulas and all super shiny. My fave? How does “yeah, you’ll have these when you pull them from my cold, dead fingers!” LOL
What is your vegan/cruelty free policy? ILNP absolutely does not test our products on animals nor do we purchase materials from suppliers that do. We make a conscious effort to avoid purchasing animal/insect derived materials like carmine and guanine/pearl, etc. as there are plenty of synthetic alternatives that perform the same or even better.
Are your nail polishes 3-Free? Yes! All ILNP nail polishes are 3 free! They DO NOT contain Toluene, Formaldehyde, or Dibutyl Phthalate.
What does 3-Free mean? 3-Free means that our nail polishes do not contain Toluene, Formaldehyde, or Dibutyl Phthalate. These 3 ingredients were previously used in most nail polish formulations until recent studies found them to be potentially harmful or irritable to humans. While these chemicals aren’t illegal to use in nail polish (although California law requires special labeling if used), most large brands have already moved to 3-Free formulas at the urge of educated consumers as well as organizations that campaign for safe cosmetics.”

Diving right into the April polish subscription box from SquareHue, the moment I opened it I was out of breath! The April Adventure Collection brings us Skydive Interlaken. Three finishes, three knockout shades. Let’s suit up and take a look!
Eye popping shades for April! From Left, Monch…an eye-searing matte yellow. Eiger…a pink duochrome gloss (I’d consider it more of a pink with flashes of blue). And a glitter within a purple crelly, Jungfrau.
Monch is so brilliant, not even the sun can compete with this shade. Wear it matte or shine it up even more with a topcoat. I don’t know why but yellow this shade screams for black! So I had fun with some dots and dry marble.
Monch in 2 coats. I read that some folks had some streaking and stringy formula issues. I had NO issues at all. Dried fast and very matte and I didn’t even need a 3rd coat.
Eiger is a super glossy pink with flashes of blue shimmer. I don’t seem to get a duochrome effect, but it’s sure gorgeous!
It took 3 thin coats and was easy to apply. I love pinks like this with that hint of shimmer.
Last but no way least, a super surprise this month is a pale purple crelly/glitter, Jungfrau. Hey, did you know that Jungfrau is a group of mountain peaks in Switzerland? Me neither. I really must get out more! lol
Jungfrau in 3 easy coats gives you great depth and dimension.
Conclusion. I read a couple mini reviews and a couple of reviewers had a couple of problems with Jungfrau and Monch. I had 0 problems, 0 defects! the Eiger took a bit longer to dry but the glossiness is worth it. Jungfrau is exactly how I like my crelly/glitters. And Monch, well. She’s a standout as far as yellow polishes are concerned. I’m super pleased!

Andrea from Indigo Bananas sent me a beautiful selection of polishes from each season so I could show you the diversity of her products. Well, I ended up with seven, even though there are only four seasons. 😉 You know it’s like a potato chip, once you have one, it’s hard to stop! I was going to break up the post into two, but oh well, I couldn’t wait to show you. And she is having a grand sale right now. She’s going to be moving and rather busy (I know how she feels). Details below. In the meantime, let’s take a peak at what I have for you today. This should hold you over until her new collection comes to fruition!
From left, Land of Green Ginger from Spring 2015. And 3 creme neons from the summer 2015 Neon The 10th Element collection, the pink is named after the colection, Neon The 10th Element, then Carbon Dallas and Phlogiston Paradise! From left, Hole in The Sky from the Summer Rains collection, Shrieking Teals from Fall ’15, and Night Gathers from the Winter 2015 collection.
Let’s start with The Land of Green Ginger. This really pops for a pastel! See how that slides off the tongue? Popping pastel!
The Land of Green Ginger from the Spring 2015 collection is a cool minty teal green, buttery smooth teaming with glass flecks. Two coats here. It is described as: “Land of Green Ginger is a light, mint green creme packed with gold & gold to green colorshifting glass fleck (large size) shimmers, and scattered holo. Very flattering green! This polish is quite a bit lighter than Immortal Game, and a mint color, so quite a bit warmer than the medium teal of Immortal Game, in addition to having a different mix of shimmer.”
Nest up will be three gorgeous neons from the Neon The 10th Element collection. Starting with a brilliant pink named after the whole collection!
Neon The 10th Element is a brilliant, eye-popping Neon pink, and named after it’s collection from Indigo Bananas Summer 2015 release. It is described as: “Neon is the 10th Element – and is the brightest color in this collection. Eye searing hot pink. This color is bright hot pink with no yellow cast.”
Next up is Carbon Dallas. I love bright watery blues like this!
2 coats of this brilliant blue neon creme from Indigo Bananas Neon the 10th Element collection, Carbon Dallas. Of the three neons I’m presenting today, I left this one in its natural state, they all dry satiny/semi matte, so you can see the finish. It is described as: “a blue/light blue neon creme that is semi-matte/satiny finish with two coats recommended.”
Purple AND Neon? Yes please! Here is Phlogiston Paradise from the Neon The 10th Element collection.
Phlogiston Paradise from the Neon The 10th Element collection is a super opaque brilliant purple creme, 2 coats, as with all these. Just for a fun I included an accent nail using Hole In The Sky by Indigo Bananas. Somewhat because it looks cool. Plus if you ever saw (and appreciate the quirkiness of the film, The 5th Element) you can relate the “hole in the sky” reference. Stumped? Message me, LOL Anyway, it is described as: “Phlogiston Paradise is a purple creme; it leans more blue than other purple colors and is more violet-toned than royal purple-toned. Swatch as pictured is two coats with top coat. As a neon, this polish will try semi-matte and not totally shiny. A top coat is recommended but not needed; the polish will become shiny with a day of wear if shine is a concern.”
For the last three seasons, we have some Summer, Winter and Fall faves. Starting with Hole in The Sky from Summer Rains collex!
This one is GLORIOUS! Hole in the Sky from the Indigo Bananas Summer Rains collection in 2-3 coats. Great formula with tons of depth. It is described as: “The base of this color is a purple, but it is blue-leaning. The red to green shimmer and flakies in it give it a more purple cast. It photographs very blue in some lights (fluorescent) and with some cameras. At an angle the flakes & shimmer shift green, and the polish will appear bluer. The linear holo effect is subtle (in order to not wash out the shimmer), but should be present in the sun and direct light. Please apply three thin coats for ideal holographic effect (holo pigment is more linear when applied in a very thin layer).”
Everyone needs a teal holo, especially a linear! Here is Shrieking Teals from Fall.
Indigo Bananas Shrieking Teals from the Fall 2015 collection in two amazing coats. It is described as: “Shrieking Teals is a vibrant green leaning teal linear holographic. The holographic rainbow is slightly more subdued in this polish because of the vibrant color. Top coat affects the color of this polish a little bit – the polish is a deeper teal shade, it is shinier, and the holographic effect is a bit more pronounced but less linear. Multiple thinner coats tend to give stronger and deeper holographic effects. **Important notes**: The pigments in this polish have the possibility of staining. However, the staining is temporary and on the nail surface and can be removed or fades on it’s own. To remove such stains, the fastest method is with cuticle remover on top of the nail and light scrubbing. A base coat prevents staining. Top coat is recommended for this polish for increased shine, and a slightly stronger holo.”
And the last one is from Winter 2015, Night Gathers. Beautiful!
Gorgeous and sultry Night Gathers from Indigo Bananas Winter ’15 collection. Two coats here! It is described as: “Night Gathers is an inky blue leaning black linear holographic polish. Two coats for full coverage, top coat recommended and does not affect the holo flame. Multiple thinner coats tend to give stronger and deeper holographic effects compared to a single thicker coat.”
Conclusion: Loved all of these. The cool thing about neons, are they are bright and cheery. The coolest thing about these are you need no undies, no tighty whities! LOL They pop on their own. I highly recommend all these. No go shopping!
• Here is the info on the Anniversary/ (3 years old on 2/1!) Clearance/Moving sale (also posted on Indigo Bananas Facebook page)!
“Indigo Bananas will be closed from Feb 9 – end of the month (we may open sooner but this is the latest it’ll be closed to). We’re relocating to a new state, so it’s time to have an Anniversary & Clearance/Moving Sale! (Indigo Bananas turns 3 on Feb 1st!)
No discount code needed, nearly all items in the shop are 10-40% off starting now (ends Feb 7 end of day). Most polishes are 30-40% off, however, and it stacks with gift certs & shipping promos. (The IB shop will be closed Feb 8-end of month at the latest).
Items in the discontinued section will not be restocked until further notice. Restocks, and a new release, in early March include: Winter 2015 Game of Thrones inspired collection, Fall Holos, and then Spring ’15 pastels, and neons will be restocked first week in March (with new releases). Older colors will be restocked at a later date. Indigo Bananas is part of the Creme a la Mode box and the next one is set for early March, so that color is the next one out for us!
Shipping will be going out asap, same day on weekdays, and shipments CANNOT be combined once you get a tracking number, since I’m on a time crunch – sorry! 🙂 ****SHIPPING RATE CHANGES****
Shipping rates went up Jan 17, and I’ve adjusted them in the shop to match. Some rates are cheaper, some are more; mostly international is up. Shipping costs now cover a large weight range (8oz-32oz are the same for example!), so that’s why at some order weights it may seem less and sometimes more. Generally international is WAY up, US priority is WAY up, US first class is up for small amounts, and down for around 12-16oz.
IB has new shipping promos as a result:
* US free shipping over $50 (down from $60) (it’s actually way cheaper for me to ship first class)
* Canada – $5 flat rate above $100
* Mexico – $5 flat rate above $125
* Rest of World – $10 flat rate above $125
Today I have a very cool collection (partial) from Jior Couture. The “Love Is” collection contains a healthy range of finishes and shades from thermal to shimmer. I’ve got three of them to share with you. The collection goes live on January 27! Check on Jior Couture’s web site or Instagram feed for exact time. Or if I get that info before it goes live I’ll update that info here. Let’s take a look at this LOVEly set.
Here is a portion of the “Love Is” collection by Jior Couture. From left: Love is…Understanding (shimmer); Love is…Powerful (silver holo); and Love is Unconditional (thermal). Note: these are half-size, 9 ml. The full size bottles are what will be for sale.
First up is a gorgeous cool red shimmer, Love is…Understanding.
Love is…Understanding is a A sassy red shimmer you’ll love! 2 coats was all this took!
Next is Love is…Powerful. It’s packed with holographic micro glitter. 2 coats for full opacity, dries to a slight textured finish. I added one coat of clear topcoat.
2 coats of Love is…Powerful is a densely packed holographic micro glitter that “powerfully” catches the light and beams it back in a rainbow explosion! The accent nail is Love is…Understanding with a thin coat of Powerful on top.
And last is Love is…Unconditional. This thermal goes from deep gray base in its warm state to a black base in cold!
Here is Love is…Unconditional in it’s warm state. It’s a pewter gray base loaded with tons of colorful micro dots. Here is Love is…Unconditional in it’s cold state. A leathery black teaming with colorful dots. No matter how dark your days may seem, unconditional love will flow in and bring color to your day!
Conclusion: I always love a good red and the shimmer within Love is…Understanding adds to the beauty. The finish and formula were perfect. The thermal Love is…Unconditional takes love to the edgey side. I highly recommend adding a topcoat. It still changes and will smooth out the bumps from the plethora of colorful dots. Love is…Powerful surprised me with its opacity. It glides on nicely and the first coat makes you think it may need 3-4 coats. But two did the job!
On the Jior Couture web site they note, “Our products are made in limited quantities. Usually, once a product is sold out it will not be restocked. Our nail lacquers are made from high quality pigments, micas, glitters and lacquer bases that are 5-FREE (free of dibutly phthalate (DBP), toluene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, and camphor).
They will also create amazing products that are custom created just for you!
I have been dying to get this review out to my lovely readers for a couple of weeks now. I received this set right at Christmastime and I was also recovering from being sick most of December. My sweet hubby just has double carpal tunnel surgery the other day, well, on our anniversary! Needless to say, we are healing up nicely, my company has departed and the dust has settled in our house. 😉 I’m so excited to finally share these four gorgeous polishes with you. The Baroness X Dreamscape Part II collection is a simply put, “DREAMY”! Let’s take a look at these fabulous indie creations!
The Dreamscape Pt. II collection is a set of 4 iridescent shifty micro flakies and thin metallic shard glitter polishes. Opacity: use 1-2 coats as a topper over any color you’d like, looks best over black or complimenting darker colors. From left/rear: Dynastic, Phantasmic, Surrealistic and Etheric.
The formulas are smooth and glide nicely over any basecoat (and it is recommended that you use a deep, dark or black underneath to really show how these babies pop). They dry fairly smooth and I recommend a thin topcoat. They wear really well. After swatching all four of these, I wore one of them for full week, plus a couple of days. Although easy to remove, I had very little tip wear and no chipping. On with the Dreamscapes!
First up, Etheric!
Etheric seems like it was made for a glossy black undercoat. Shown here is one thin coat over Chloe & Bella “Blackout”.Etheric is described as: “Etheric is a glass flakie polish with fuschia glitter shards. The flakies are a larger size which promotes a strong multichrome effect. Facing forward you can see a bright teal and it shifts over to blue, purple and then fuschia. You can wear this on its own but it looks great over black or complimenting colors.”
Dynastic is a dynamo!
Dynastic shines golden with clever green/gold shifts over a deep blackened mahogany red by OPI, “I Sing in Color”.Dynastic is described as: “a glass flakie polish with bright red glitter shards. The glass flakies are a larger size which promotes a strong multichrome effect. Facing forward you can see gold and it shifts over to green and blue. You can wear this on its own but it looks great over black or complimenting colors.”
Phantasmic is like peering into the Caribbean!
Phantasmic gives off a mermaidy sheen…a really fluid shade shifter. Here I used one thin coat over “Poison Ivy”, a deep blackened green shimmer by Wet ‘N Wild.Phantasmic is described as: “…a glass flakie polish with green glitter shards. The glass flakies are a larger size which promotes a strong multichrome effect. Facing forward you can see a turquoise blue and it shifts over to a deeper blue and violet. You can wear this on its own but it looks great over black or complimenting colors.”
And Surrealistic is stunning!
Surrealistic simply glows over black polish! Here I used one coat over “Blackout” and topcoated with “Crystal Clear” by Chloe & Bella.Surrealistic is described as: “…a glass flakie polish with blue glitter shards. The glass flakies are a larger size which promotes a strong multichrome effect. Facing forward you can see a pink leaning purple and it shifts over to orange/amber or gold. You can wear this on its own but it looks great over black or complimenting colors.”I love how Demi includes glass buttons on the lid tops. Great for when you’ve got your giant Baroness X collection all crowded into a helmer drawer! The Dreamscape Pt. II collection, from left: Etheric, Dynastic, Phantasmic and Surrealistic.
Indie polishes by Mosi Mei are quickly becoming one of my favorites. The formulas have consistently been top-notch in application and wearability. There are so many shades to choose from, fabulous packaging and even the clean, easy to navigate website is so professional. Now with that out-of-the-way, let’s check out three more MM shades!
From left: Sophisticated, a medium purple creme. Dreamier, a two coat white gold glitter. And Profound, a medium pine green creme.
Sophisticated is a dreamy medium purple.
Sophisticated is a glossy medium purple creme, two coats. Fabulous formula!
Profound is the perfect green for both Fall and Winter!
Profound is a super glossy pine green creme, two coats, amazing formula.
And to top it off, here is sparkly pale gold called Dreamier.
Dreamier is fully opaque in two coats, very very slight texture. Here I show you how it makes a lovely gradient over Profound. Easy removal!
Conclusion: Hehe, you already know it. Love them!!!
