Recently I got to try three of the Winter 2016 A Delos Holiday collection by Indigo Bananas. I want to jump right in here and say the formulas are perfect! So easy to apply, base coat recommended and top coat optional, they are shiny!
NOTE: I was going to get this posed over the weekend, but Saturday morning my son and I hit by a hit and run driver, we were coming out of a stop sign intersection in a residential area, and the cross traffic was empty, except…a guy came barreling down and I didn’t see him, and he hit me at a full 30 mph! We are ok, I’m still a bit sore but nothing broken, but my car 😥 The guy that ran into me took off, so there’s that. Anyway, thank God for insurance as he is nowhere to be found, yet. Now that Spring is fully on deck, our nail lacquer lovers are seeking all things shiny and new. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Spring than freshly painted nails. My sun photo was too intense to show you the gorgeous flakies the way I wanted. So this is in shade. Mayfield is described as, “a stunning combination of color-shifting Ultra Chrome Flakies. Today I’m sharing with you the first half of the Fall 2015 collection, “As a MATTEr of Fall” by indie cosmetics company, Jior Couture! It is a collection of 6 matte lacquers, all containing flakies.These perfect matte polishes I have today are: Scenic, Harvest and Frost. The whole collection will be available for purchase on Sept. 25th!
This is half of the “As a MATTEr of Fall” Collection by Jior Couture. Gorgeous velvety mattes that are easy to apply, perfect formulas! From left: Scenic, a dark blue matte with multicolored holo flakes. Harvest, a greenish leaning mustard yellow with holographic flakes. And Frost, a dark grey with holographic flakes, seem mostly aqua.
Let’s get a closer look at these beauties. Note, I swatched these using the 9 ml bottles. No problems with the minis (I’m not sure at this point if they will be released in this size but I had no issues with either the formulas or the full size brushes).
Scenic by Jior Couture is a beautiful dark blue denim shade with tiny holo flakes. Totally in love with this one, 2 coats. These dry fast and matte perfectly.Harvest is a greenish mustard yellow and frankly, I was worried about this shade with my complextion. But after applying it, I was really impressed! 1 coat!Frost is a gorgeous dark felt grey with holo flakes. The flakes don’t show up as much as the other two. Still gorgeous though. Perfect for sweater weather! 2 coats.

Conclusion: I’m seriously impressed with these matte polishes. Sometimes mattes can come off as a more satiny finish and not quite matte enough. These are full on mattes with a really velvety finish. So perfect for fall. Fast drying and sturdy.

I’m down to three ILNP Fall polishes after this and I’m ecstatic with today’s entry. Presenting Cameo (H), Clockwork and After Midnight. These are all different formulas and finishes so it was fun to mix it up today. Let’s see how different they are!
First up is Cameo (H), Cameo’s big sister. It’s a holographic version and the color shifts are nearly countless depending on angle, lighting and even the amount of coats used! I used 2 and it’s suggested 2-3.
Ultra Chromes by ILNP are amazing and Cameo (H) is the holo version of its sister, Cameo. And of course, you can’t just show one angle of these beauties because they are multi-shaded. Here in a shadier angle you can see shades of green, copper, gold and magenta.
Yes, same Cameo (H)…amazing huh?
Cameo (H) in sunlight or flash really lets that purple shine through.Cameo (H) is described as, “a holographic version of the original Cameo Ultra Chrome polish! The new Cameo (H) contains just the right amount of holographic splendor to add a beautiful rainbow sparkle to the polish. All without ruining the intense color shift effect! Cameo (H) effortlessly shifts through an incredible array of vivid pink, purple, copper, gold, and a stunningly vibrant green. Clockwork is perfect for fall, glitzy but very classy.
Clockwork is one of those classy metallics that really attract attention. Wear this baby and you won’t even feel like you need jewelry! 2 coats! The assortment of metallic flakes coupled with a range of holographic particles, all dipped in a silky beige base, give Clockwork a truly unique combination of class and head turning vibrancy. And After Midnight is a velvety deep blue. Perfect for that late date!
After Midnight is such a deep and welcoming blue. mix in that gorgeous holo and gold flakes, it will take your breath away. I’ve got a ways to go with my swatches from indie polish company’s ILNP (I Love Nail Polish) Summer collections. But I’ve been in the middle of a move and I’m just trying to get caught up. I had already swatched these two gorgeous polishes from the Summer collection for 2015. Now that I’m “somewhat” settled, I wanted to get these posted asap.

Fame is a smooth white gold metallic with yellow gold flakes (and I’m trying to describe this on my own, stay tuned for more detailed descriptions once I have them). It is smooth and shiny, not textured! Fame in the sun!
Next is a precious pink metallic Flower Girl, with the added bonus of little gold flakies. Anyone who knows me, knows I love pink and gold together.
Flower Girl is sure to be on fingers and toes at weddings this spring and summer! Flower Girl is such a delicate shade with that pop of gold. Perfect for spring!
I could definitely be happy forever with Happily Ever After! So shiny it really played tricks with my camera. It just couldn’t handle the beauty.

Sticking with the wedding theme, here is Peri Me! I love periwinkles and this one is super special.

Timeless Vow is a soft sage green with gorgeous gold flakes. Smooth application, only 2 coats needed.

3-Free means that our nail polishes do not contain Toluene, Formaldehyde, or Dibutyl Phthalate. These 3 ingredients were previously used in most nail polish formulations until recent studies found them to be potentially harmful or irritable to humans. While these chemicals aren’t illegal to use in nail polish (although California law requires special labeling if used), most large brands have already moved to 3-Free formulas at the urge of educated consumers as well as organizations that campaign for safe cosmetics.”

Actually, although I am a day late for the actual Mardi Gras day, folks in New Orleans and most likely beyond are still celebrating. So I thought I’d share with you my super simple Mardi Gras nails using ILNP’s Ultra Chrome Flakies. Of course the three mainstay colors of MG are purple, gold and green. Granted, Mardi Gras is all about celebrating, excess, thinking outside the box and blingy overkill in fashion. But after all that preparation, a simple nail art that still delivers the shine and looks amazing is just the ticket!
Well, I may be a day late and a dollar short, since the true Mardi Gras was technically yesterday. But folks are still celebrating, you can bet on it! I used three MG shaded flakies from the Ultra Chrome Flakies from ILNP. The green one is Open Fields, the gold is Rapture and the purple is Metropolis. All are available in the ILNP.COM store! The accent nail used all three over black. 2 coats on the others over a bare nail, followed by a clear topcoat.

I’m telling you, this has been a fabulous swatching week for me and every polish I’ve used have been out of this world. I especially love the care and attention to detail my indie girls put into their fabulous products. Chloe & Bella polishes are amazing and these four I have to share with you speak for themselves. So I will just load you up with photos, starting now!

Wet your appetite? Here we go! Starting with Dragon’s Skin! It’s a gorgeous multi colored metallic flakie polish, and be sure to check out it’s sister polish Dragon’s Breath!
Dragon’s Skin is the second in a pair of chrome flakie polishes from Chloe & Bella. Gorgeous flakies in a clear base can be used alone 2-3 coats (I used 2) or over a base color like I did here. I used Chloe & Bella’s black creme, Black Out, also available on the web site! Dragon’s Skin is described as, “an astonishingly gorgeous nail polish that shifts through green to gold to copper, and contains an electrifying platinum colored sparkle. This is not a glitter polish! Dragon’s Skin is colored by chameleon flakes and infused with super-shiny silver covered flakes that give it a shine that will knock your socks off!” Color: Green/Copper/Gold with platinum/silver sparks. Texture: Dragon’s Skin will dry completely smooth on the nail. Coverage: Dragon’s Skin has light coverage with one coat, and full coverage with two coats.
Next up are three stunning multichrome polishes (see descriptions in the photos), Jasper, Tiger’s Eye and Peacock!
Jasper is a lovely multichromatic polish and the formula is FABULOUS! Shimmery Color shifts from bronze to wine, to green, gold and probably even more! I used only one coat, but I think they suggest 1-2 depending on your technique. Jasper, how I love thee! This multichrome shimmery color shifter is total genius!
Tiger’s Eye is another huge hit with me, not only is the formula amazing, but the color shifts in this gem are mesmerizing. From bronze to forest green, gold to garnet and beyond. I tried to mimic the effect of the gem Tiger’s Eye on my accent nail. I used to have a ring with one in it but I couldn’t find it. 😦 Sad face, so sad. LOL Tiger’s Eye is the same great formula as the other two multichrome shimmers. So amazing!
Oh my goodness, get this one! You can’t stop staring at your nails, seriously. I used a few pieces of peacock feathers on my accent nail. Peacock is described as, “Peacock is a gorgeous multichrome that features flashes of green, blue, and violet. Depending on the light source and viewing angle, this polish appears completely different! Texture: Peaccok will dry smooth on the nail. Coverage: Peacock has medium coverage with one coat, and full coverage with three coats. We recommend using a black base coat because it brings out the various flashes of color.” The formula is supreme!
