Fresh from the Madam Glam Smoothie Gel Collection…and a nude!

Today I will be sharing 2 of the 36 Madam Glam Smoothie Gel Collection polish, plus a blushing nude gel polish! I want to mention right away, that my first encounter applying the thicker gel polishes (with glitters) was a bit of a learning experience. For years I’ve developed a method of applying non-gel glitter toppers and polishes in a certain way, thin first then thick and dobbed on. It is not recommended to do it this way with gel because of the way you cure them, you cannot apply thick layers, ever! Although not especially damaging, your curing light will create a chemical heat reaction that is somewhat uncomfortable. Now I know this doesn’t have to happen at all and that applying 2-3 THIN coats cured after each coat does the trick nicely without any discomfort. This even applies to regular gel polishes that lean to the thicker side. Apply thin even coats curing after each. You end up with a smooth, saturated finish. The Smoothies look amazing! Also, I’ll be sharing with you a delicate nude with a hint of peachy pink. Lovely!

Here are two of the Madam Glam Smoothie Gel Collection. Fizzy Laguna and Girly & Creamy, are delicate and creamy. 1) Apply VERY THIN LAYERS
2) Reduce your regular curing time (3sec/coat for powerful lamp, 15sec/coat for others) Consistency can be sticky – to shake before applying!”

Fizzy Laguna from Madam Glam Smoothie Gel Collection in 3 thins coats. It is described as: “Sheer Light Greenish Jelly Base with Green Glitters. For every effervescent girl out there, this combo will match your style for sure. Wear it for at lest 2 weeks, because it will not move!”

Girly & Creamy from the Madam Glam Smoothie Gel Collection in 3 thin coats. It is described as: “Sheer White Jelly Base with Red and Blue small Glitters. The girly purple combination is the new recipe for success! Bold and sweet!”

CONCLUSION on the Smoothies: I love the creamy look the Smoothie Gel Collection polishes. The bottles are adorable and the wear is average 2 weeks!

CONCLUSION on Over and Over: I have a ton of nudes and neutral regular polishes, but this is one of my first nude gels. I love how smooth this applies. It’s quite effortless to achieve a perfect finish.

SquareHue Adventure Collection takes us to Skydive Interlaken!

Diving right into the April polish subscription box from SquareHue, the moment I opened it I was out of breath! The April Adventure Collection brings us Skydive Interlaken. Three finishes, three knockout shades. Let’s suit up and take a look!

Eye popping shades for April! From Left, Monch…an eye-searing matte yellow. Eiger…a pink duochrome gloss (I’d consider it more of a pink with flashes of blue). And a glitter within a purple crelly, Jungfrau.

Monch is so brilliant, not even the sun can compete with this shade. Wear it matte or shine it up even more with a topcoat. I don’t know why but yellow this shade screams for black! So I had fun with some dots and dry marble.

Monch in 2 coats. I read that some folks had some streaking and stringy formula issues. I had NO issues at all. Dried fast and very matte and I didn’t even need a 3rd coat.

Eiger is a super glossy pink with flashes of blue shimmer. I don’t seem to get a duochrome effect, but it’s sure gorgeous!

It took 3 thin coats and was easy to apply. I love pinks like this with that hint of shimmer.

Last but no way least, a super surprise this month is a pale purple crelly/glitter, Jungfrau. Hey, did you know that Jungfrau is a group of mountain peaks in Switzerland? Me neither. I really must get out more! lol

Jungfrau in 3 easy coats gives you great depth and dimension.

Conclusion. I read a couple mini reviews and a couple of reviewers had a couple of problems with Jungfrau and Monch. I had 0 problems, 0 defects! the Eiger took a bit longer to dry but the glossiness is worth it. Jungfrau is exactly how I like my crelly/glitters. And Monch, well. She’s a standout as far as yellow polishes are concerned. I’m super pleased!

How about these beauties from Super Nails?!

I am thrilled to bring you some more beauties from KC at Super Nails! Today I will share with you another stunning birthstone glitter, January Garnet (my birthstone, yay!). As well as six very creative shades, with 5 glitters and one crelly/glitter. Those are Peacock, Unicorn’s Mane, Anti V-Day, French Kiss, Me-Ow! and Rainbow Clouds. So here we go, starting with my birthstone!

French Kiss, c’est magnifique!

Ooh lala! French Kiss is a fun pinked base glitter with little hearts. Sheer enough to go nicely over a french mani. I used Romper room by Essie.

Rainbow Clouds is soft and delicate. Perfect for spring!

Rainbow Clouds is such a delicate and soft crelly. Great formula!

Since these two seemed to both fall into that skygazind, day dreamy category, I had to group these two cuties together.
Rainbow Clouds is described as: “White crelly polish base with pastel rainbow shreds, including pink, purple, blue, green and yellow.”
Unicorn’s Mane is described as: “Clear polish base with iridescent and bright rainbow short bars, including red, pink, yellow, green, and blue.”

So, here’s the thing. I’ve feared bar glitters in the past. But this one, oh my goodness. How fun is this? So easy to apply and so festive!

I have not used a lot of bar glitters in the past, but this one had me at “hello, I’m a Unicorn, want a ride?” LOL I wanted you to see how great this colorful glitter topper is over dark or light undies, gradient style or total topper.

I saved one of the best for last. My little model, Hermione, was made for this polish theme with it’s cute little leopard spot glitters!

Me-Ow! is a perfect glitter for a gradient mani. I tried my hand at a bit of dry brushing for a furry effect.

Well, it had to be done. How could I NOT use my Hermione for a model here? She obliged quite nicely. Me-ow! is described as: “Clear polish base with holographic silver leopard spot, black leopard spot and metallic gold leopard spot glitters in a sea of metallic and holo gold and silver hex and square glitters in all different sizes.”

A sweet Valentine pair of polishes, Devotion and Desire by Chloe & Bella

It’s not too early to start thinking about your manis for Valentines Day. A brand new set of Valentine themed jelly and crelly based glitter polishes from Chloe & Bella will be available to order January 14, 2015. These are jam packed and so fun, whether you use them for an accent nail or a full on lovey dovey mani!

Devotion and Desire are the perfect glitters for your Valentine manis!

I recommend using a good gel like or glossy top coat on these. It really sets them off and gives them a glitter floating effect. First we have a sweetheart pink called Devotion.

Devotion is a cool pink crelly base with pink, white and silver glitters. Desire will dry slightly textured but if you use about two thin coats over white, it really makes the pink pop. I manually placed the hearts for this post, although you may not need to. I prefer to place larger glitters this way, then finish with a good topcoat that smooths out glitters, like Gelous.

Devotion is described as, “Devotion is a sweet pink shade that represents all of the loving feelings you share with your special Valentine every day of the year. Devotion starts with a lightly-tinted cool pink base and is filled with a shimmering gold spark and charming glitters. Glitters include: matte white hearts, holo silver hearts, and candy pink dots in various sizes.”

And how sexy is this Desire?! 😉 It reminds me of lingerie!

Desire is full of red glitters in a black base. Desire will dry slightly textured and semi matte on the nail. I found two thin coats gave me full coverage and I did place the heart glitters manually since I was swatching for photos on this post. I found removal was easy considering the heavy glitter load. FYI: When I remove glitter polishes that are contrary, this not being one of them, a small cut square of felt is a lifesaver. You won’t need it with this polish however. I used Gelous for a topcoat to smooth out the polish.

Desire is described as, “Desire is a mysteriously seductive shade that evokes feelings of lust and longing. This polish is sure to heat up the nights with your special Valentine! Desire begins with a lightly-tinted black base and is filled with understated but evocative glitters. Glitters include: metallic micro black and red hex, holo micro red hex, matte red hearts, holo red hearts, and metallic red squares.”
