I was contacted by the PR department for Beauty BigBang last month about reviewing some of their products. It was right before we left on our trip to Florida, which ended up being a month-long. The products were here when we got home, and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them and share them with you! They sent me a fabulous stamping polish, some micro glass caviar beads and glass crystals. Take a look!
This stamping polish is $4.99 and the direct link is HERE
BeautyBigBang sells everything from items for the home, cosmetics, nail care and nail art items and tools, hair, health care. There is also as a Warehouse as well as overseas. Worldwide Free Shipping, and they take PayPal, MC.
***PR Samples, products were sent to me at no charge for my honest review. I was not paid for my opinion.
Today I’m sharing with you the first half of the Fall 2015 collection, “As a MATTEr of Fall” by indie cosmetics company, Jior Couture! It is a collection of 6 matte lacquers, all containing flakies. These perfect matte polishes I have today are: Scenic, Harvest and Frost. The whole collection will be available for purchase on Sept. 25th!
Let’s get a closer look at these beauties. Note, I swatched these using the 9 ml bottles. No problems with the minis (I’m not sure at this point if they will be released in this size but I had no issues with either the formulas or the full size brushes).
The remaining three shades that will be available in the As a MATTEr of Fall collex are: -Bonfire
*The release date for The fall 2015 collection is Sept 25.
Conclusion: I’m seriously impressed with these matte polishes. Sometimes mattes can come off as a more satiny finish and not quite matte enough. These are full on mattes with a really velvety finish. So perfect for fall. Fast drying and sturdy.
PRESS RELEASE: AND! Be on the Lookout for Jior Couture’s

Individual bottles will only be available in 15 ml bottles.
On their web site they note, “Our products are made in limited quantities. Usually, once a product is sold out it will not be restocked. Our nail lacquers are made from high quality pigments, micas, glitters and lacquer bases that are 5-FREE (free of dibutly phthalate (DBP), toluene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, and camphor).
They will also create amazing products that are custom created just for you!
This is my first experience working with the indie cosmetic company, BOii Cosmetics (Made for girls, inspired by boys). Today I get to show you part of the newest collection, “Girls Around the World”. The collection showcases colors from around the world, and I have Indian Girl and Japanese Girl! The collection will be available for purchase this weekend. I might add, these two colors are perfect for fall. I can’t wait to see what the other ‘places’ look like! Let’s get started.
How they arrived, too cute!
Indie creator, Kumari Brathwaite, creates beautiful cosmetics as well. “Boii cosmetics was started in 2012 by two sisters living in New Jersey. We initially became interested in creating nail polishes as a hobby, but was inspired by our awesome mom to evolve our hobby into a business and a career. Since then we have transitioned from nail polishes to now offering eye shadows and lipsticks.” Products include: Nail polish, nail art, face, jewelry, candles, bath and body.
Here is Indian Girl!
Here is Japanese Girl!
Conclusion: I found the polishes dried fairly quickly, even as well-pigmented they were. The formulas were easy to apply, no flooding or thickness issues. No strong odors and the colors are really beautiful. Indian Girl is unique for a gold, it’s warm and shimmery, and very little streaking for a metallic. Japanese Girl is a beautiful deep red/burgundy with tons of shimmer. I do have some shades like it, but no dupes that I know of! I highly recommend these!
I’ve had the good fortune to team up with Loxa Beauty so I can share some of their extensive inventory of top quality nail lacquers and nail care products! Today I’m going to share with you the first of a two-part series of Morgan Taylor polishes, each in 3-pack full size sets.
Introducing the Morgan Taylor Fall 2014 Enchantment Collection. Escape to a magical fantasyland with this limited-edition palette of three majestic hues.
First up in the set is the moody and mysterious, Hocus Pocus. I thought it would be fun and fitting to accent this mani with it’s set mates, I’m The Good Witch and Magician’s Assistant.
I’m no stranger to Morgan Taylor lacquers and just as I expected, the formulas in this set are highly pigmented and easy to apply.
Next is a gorgeous glitter, I’m The Good Witch. It can be used as a glitter topcoat using one coat as I did here over Magician’s Assistant. Or 2-3 coats on it’s own!
I’m the Good Witch is loaded with pink and rosy toned micro glitters in a rosy jelly base.
And the third beauty in this set is Magician’s Assistant. She’s a delicate pale dusty rose, but not your grandma’s rose. Not by a long shot!
In a set like this it’s hard to decide which is your favorite because all three are fabulous. This is a well assembled set and they all compliment each other perfectly.
This set is a winner, just as the next one will be when I come back here soon to tempt you with “Do You Believe?“. I’ll see you then. And oh by the way, please comment!
Loxa explains the Morgan Taylor lacquers as…”Morgan Taylor offers the premiere, most exclusive nail lacquers developed by professionals just for you. Inspired by luminous pearls, raw gems, semi-precious stones, glimmering silvers and radiant gold all drawn from the earth. The exclusive Morgan Taylor Nail Lacquer is infused with rare and precious elements. All pigments are saturated, pure and finely milled for luminous metallics, never before seen shimmers, decadent crèmes, stunning sheers and more glistening glitters. The payoff—smooth, even, long-lasting color with a gorgeous professional finish.”
In the next few days I’ll be sharing the second trio in the Enchantment series, “Do You Believe?” It’s every bit as stunning as this must-have collection.
I live in the midwest now but as I always say, “you can take the girl out of California but you can’t take the California out of the girl.” These polishes are SO Cali, so it’s no wonder I love their colors this much.
I love how they have all their bases covered. Such as all their polishes being 5-free, One & Done (one coat is all you need), and they like to send you nail art tools to help you create your special look. Cult Cosmetics is based in California, naturally!
Laguna is a dreamy deep coral and it really pops on the nail. I have been stuck in the house all winter with only my sunroom to remind me there is a sun here! But I’d pinky swear this shade makes my hands look a bit more tan! Then there’s lovely blushing Hollywood Hills. Well, that’s kinda funny because we all know Hollywoodians, is that a word?…probably don’t blush that much. LOL But this pale pink is so soft and classy, you’ll surely get compliments each time you wear it.
I have to admit, I’m a sucker for purple. I’m not a sucker for cream polishes. They…challenge me! I’ve gotten spoiled with shimmers, textures, glitters and holos. They cover a multitude of mistakes. Heaven knows with my old eyes I have to use glasses meant for Mr. Magoo. You see, he’s blind and…never mind. The point is, Cult Cosmetics polishes are amazingly user friendly!
Seriously, if you haven’t tried their polishes, rush over to https://www.cultcosmetics.com and see what all the fuss is about. They have a very doable monthly subscription service where you get their “Blackbox” bundles. They come with at least two bottles of amazing polishes, plus art tools or other cosmetics. They also have mini boxes, which contain just two full size bottles, no extras. California based Cult cosmetics has everything from creams to metallics to glitters. Every one I’ve tried is perfection and I’m not being paid to say that. I’ve bought mine with my own money, just FYI. Oh and I apologize for my so-so photo! I’m on vacation without my beloved light box.
But getting back to the featured shade, Breakwater, it goes on like a dream. It is true, one coat and done as they say, but I’m normally a two coat gal just because. But it’s not necessary, and I used no topcoat…doesn’t need it! So glossy, I just didn’t see the need.
Also, check out their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CultCosmetics. Hint: they constantly have contests and flash giveaways. In fact I’m awaiting arrival of a cute little set myself!
I highly recommend these polishes. The brushes are just right, formula is as easy as pie, and I love the easy-to-store square bottles.
First I want to say thank you to a sweet lady, Sophie, aka MoonBeautyBar on YouTube, for my shopping spree at the born Pretty Store at http://www.bornprettystore.com.
This Singapore-based shop has a lot of really cool polishes, cosmetics, nail art accessories, jewelry and more. Just to get my feet wet, I picked out a few pretty polishes, some nail gems, and a few pieces of costume jewelry to use when I photograph for my blog.
I will be reviewing the polishes soon but just looking through the bottle, they are super pretty! The one on the right is actually a textured polish.
I probably wouldn’t wear the rings out much as they are really inexpensive and I’m thinking without a good layer of clear nail polish on those puppies, Id see some color turning. But I love the stretchy mock diamond bands. They fit on any finger! Thank you so much Sophie!
UPDATED NOTATION: I will have to say it took a full month to arrive after ordering, but I think it’s because the store was closed for week in celebration of a local holiday. Communication with the company is exceptional. But you will have to pull out your patience cap if you’re ordering from the USA. I have found they do not get in any hurry to ship your order and the “ships in 24 hours” promise is just a metaphor.
Update if you’re a blogger who is wanting to review for Born Pretty, my experience. This has no bearing on their products. Just my frustration with the program:
If you are considering doing blog reviews for this company, I want you to be aware of something. Communication with them has become increasingly spotty. They ask for product choices that you’d like to test and review. They send you items at their cost for this purpose. It started out fine from my first order. Fast forward to today, May 17, 2014, I have been volleying back and forth for 2 months. I sent them, at their request, items I’d like to review next. A full week later I get an email an item is out of stock. This is from their NEW ITEMS listing. So I go through the site, choose again, email. Wait two weeks for response. Etc, etc. Without giving you every ridiculous detail, either someone is “posing” as Alice, my previous contact, or she’s not making it into the office very often. I got an email this morning to give her a detailed choice of the last item replacement. I did. I never had this trouble ordering for myself with my own money or points. So, for you bloggers out there who are considering reviewing products for their blogger program, get ready for frustration. I want to be perfectly honest about this because I know that a lot of my readers are bloggers themselves. It’s not always easy dealing with a company in a foreign company. There’s language and translation barriers. Culture differences at times and communication is almost always somewhat delayed. But this is over the top. I’ve always been kind and understanding with BP store, but I think it’s time to convey the fact that this is bugging the tar out of me. I even chose a nail polish from their site for review, as the three polishes I bought before were nice. She emailed me two weeks later, they can’t send polish overseas. SAY WHAT?! Bogus. So there. This is off my chest and we will see where it goes from here. Have any of you had these issues with your contact? Let me know.
