Good morning to you on this fine Memorial Day 2015! The sun is teasing us, in and out, in and out. After days and days of clouds and rain, I’ll take what I can get! I’m just thankful for the week we spent on our beach vacay where the sun shined bright and warm every day. We are busy packing up the house and doing a bit of paint and touchups around here. But neither rain, or moving or a little stress can keep me from my mission of bringing you a bit of lacquer inspiration. So this is just a quick post to share with you a bright little mani I came up with this weekend.
I used two China Glaze shades from the 2015 Electric Nights collection. Here I used the brilliant neon orangey red, Red-Y to Rave and the neon grapey purple, Violet Vibes. I got them from a 3-pack I purchased from my Instagram girl, “nailpolishaddictsale“. She has lots of cool inventory so check her out!
Basically, I started with a single layer (which you can’t see here) of Glow With the Flow from the collection. Then dropping little dots of both of the other colors onto the nail and while wet, I drag a super fine brush across and marbling around the two until the colors run into each other. Be careful not to blend too much. You WANT to tell one shade from the other. Then top off when dry with a clear topcoat of your choice.
Have you tried this with any of the CG Electric Vibes? I’d love to see!

Bringing in the Season Kit Includes: No Peeking! – 0.5 oz., Dancing & Prancing – 0.5 oz. and Define Good – 0.5 oz. AND includes a purple FREE Holiday Pouchett.
I loved every one of these formulas and the glitter is gorgeous on either of these shimmers. Having a neat little kit like this is great for travel and all three bottles fit in the bonus pouch.
‘Tis the season to celebrate and amp up your so-so manis in high style. Today we have a great gift trio from China Glaze and available now at Loxa Beauty, Reflect on the Season!
This holiday season China Glaze introduces a palette that allows you to reflect on the season and celebrate color, with glitters and shades to melt for. The spirit of the season is captured by sparkles in the night, soft glowing lights and visions of the new year. This cute kit includes: Tip Your Hat – 0.5 oz., Chillin’ With My Snow-mies – 0.5 oz., and Out Like A Light – 0.5 oz. with a FREE Mirror and Pouch.
Tip Your Hat and Out Like a Light are both great formulas. Chillin With My Snow-mies in its clear base, is basically a matte glitter topper I found easier to manage by dobbing a bit onto a piece of aluminum foil and picking up the pieces of glitter with a stick and placing where I wanted.

NOTE of Thanks: I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and I especially want to thank all my readers and followers for supporting me with love, thoughts and prayers as our family continues to endure the tough job of caring for my husband’s mom here in our home. The past month has been the hardest I’ve ever known, and the job of caring for an end-stage COPD hospice patient is more than I thought I could ever handle. But we’ve persevered with much prayer and the strength of the Lord. My blog and social community of friends has indeed helped me get through this. We don’t know how long we will have my mother-in-law with us and doing this through the holidays has it’s own special challenges. I’m so glad now that I have been able to work on some of my swatches, photos and posts ahead of time. And as I write our youngest son sits in my MIL’s room on the other side of our house, just being there so I can write and stay caught up. Blogging and finding moments to do my nails are so therapeutic. Funny how the little things are the highlight of your day in these situations. Moments of clarity from my MIL are far and few between but they are there hidden behind the oxygen deprivation and cloudy medicine interference. Yet, times when she has a memory, or showers us with hugs and kisses and blessings…are a blessing. Thanks everyone!
As you may, or may not know, I’ve been on vacation in Florida. We have a beach condo here. Sadly, we are leaving tomorrow. It gets harder and harder to leave every time. And we bought the place in ’07! I didn’t want you to think I’d dropped off the map so I’m sharing a beachy mani with you. And maybe a couple images from our trip.
About a month ago I took a stab at a watercolor nail thanks to Nicole’s youngwildandpolished YouTube tutorial. Thank you so much! 😘💕💕💕 I can’t wait to do more. Polishes used were China Glaze Seahorsin Around for other nails, them for water color I used Square Hue in Beethoven Straat; Wet n Wild for the white base in Whipped Topping; Wet n Wild in Deception; and Elle Cutting Edge Emerald.
Here are a couple of images from our beach trip. And we do rent out our condo. Most of the summer is booked solid, but for future reference if you’re interested, check us out here: http://www.vrbo.com/129539 our booking calendar is always updated.
And I’ll leave you with this. Perfect beach, perfect relaxation. What are your summer plans? 😎🌴🌞
As you will see, I can’t leave well enough alone. Read on!
I was so excited the other day to see my local Ulta selling the 2014 Sea Goddess Collection. The six sandy textured and very sparkly line of beachworthy shades are stunning to be sure. I bought one there for $10, but have since discovered you can get them for $5.99-$6.99 at Sally Beauty (depending on whether you have a membership card).
• Sand Dolla Make You Holla (a white sandy base with multicolored micro sparkles scattered throughout) and I think they missed the mark on that one. Being the beach lover that I am, I’d have liked to have seen them include a white sand shade with glints of micro holo glitters within.
• Wish On A Starfish, my fave of the lot, is a shimmery soft pink with sparkles of gold. In fact, that golden glimmer almost transforms this pink into a pale coral. It depends on the lighting. Oh my how gorgeous. It reminds me of the pink and golden shades of sunsets at our beach in Florida.
• Shall We Dance? is a darker pink with tiny darker glitter of pink. Meh, it’s pretty but I’ve got some textures in that shade. Tail Me Something is a pretty medium lavender with glitters that make it blindingly shiny. So pretty!
• Seahorsin’ Around is a stunning and glittery aquamarine blue. It should look amazing with a tan.
• Teal The Tide Turns is a pale minty teal with dark teal glitters. I’m pretty positive this will end up on my plate!
I chose Wish On A Starfish for starters. Then the next morning after application I decided it would be fun to stick with the theme and actually paint a starfish on my middle nail. To get the look with my dotting tool, I used Zoya’s Pixie Dust in Destiny for the starfish, Zoya’s Godiva PD for the starfishes dots, then Godiva for a bit of beach sand, and followed up with a bit of seawater using Zoya’s Nyx and Sunshine PDs. I don’t often do true nail art, but when I do…I make a mess! On these seemingly endless frigid winter days, it’s kind of nice to think about the beach. I’m no sea goddess, but at least my nails can shine like the sun!
You can get this nice little gift set from Ulta when you buy two Zoya polishes. I bought Odette and Erika. This is “while supplies last”. 1oz Remove, full size Hot Lips in Glossy Balm in Flirty, mini Anchor base coat, and mini Matte top coat. It seems from what I’ve read that whether you’re required to buy reg price polishes as opposed to clearance bottles is up to the store’s discretion. I also purchased one bottle, “Wish On A Starfish”, from the new China Glaze Sea Goddess Collection of springtime textured polishes. It’s gorgeous and I’ll be posting a review here soon. However, just a heads up, they charge $10 at Ulta for them and then I find out I could have gotten it at Sally Beauty for $5.99! Say what?! Seriously, that’s a huge difference. I’m considering returning it before I use it and ask for a price match. If they won’t play ball, I’ll ask for a refund and jog over to Sally! Have you gotten any of the gorgeous CG Sea Goddess shades and what to you pay?
