Madam Glam Chrome Mirror Pigment powders aptly named after planets and other heavenly bodies sparkle and shine! This cast of characters come in seven shades and I have four to share with you today. And as a bonus, I will also share with you a shiny red gel polish that will make heads turn! Let’s take a look.
I am loving Pluto Chrome Mirror Pigment Powder by Madam Glam, swatched here over white for a pearly finish that glows pale green in different angles along with pale pink. But over black as seen on the accent nail, boom! An emerald foil finish!Pluto is one of 7 of the newest Chrome Mirror pigment powders by Madam Glam. Each pot is a generous 5 grams and comes with instructions and a nice pink metallic applicator. Pluto is described as, “…green with blue undertone” and suggested to go over a black gel polish cured with a no wipe top coat, but you may also use it over regular polish with a water based top coat over and under the powder!Venus Chrome Mirror Pigment Powder by Madam Glad over black. The MG store describes it as a light blue but on me at least seemed a darker blue over black gel polish. I think if it was swatched over a white or pale blue it would be a lot lighter but it’s gorgeous here!Venus is one of 7 of the newest Chrome Mirror pigment powders by Madam Glam. I LOVE the packaging don’t you? Each pot is a generous 5 grams and comes with instructions and a nice pink metallic applicator. Venus is described as, “…light blue” and suggested to go over a black gel polish cured with a no wipe top coat, but you may also use it over regular polish with a water based top coat over and under the powder!Madam Glam’s Chrome Mirror Powder in Jupiter. Here it is swatched over a nude gel polish which gives it a soft golden glow! Can be swatched over any color though, black will give a dramatic effect while pale shades result in anything from a white gold to rosy gold mirror shine.Jupiter is one of 7 of the newest Chrome Mirror pigment powders by Madam Glam. Each pot is a generous 5 grams and comes with instructions and a nice pink metallic applicator. Jupiter is described as, “…warm gold” and suggested to go over a black gel polish cured with a no wipe top coat, but you may also use it over regular polish with a water based top coat over and under the powder!Vela Chrome Mirror Powder by Madam Glam here over black gel polish. This pigment powder is described as a navy blue effect. Use with no wipe top coat!Vela is one of 7 of the newest Chrome Mirror pigment powders by Madam Glam. I LOVE the packaging don’t you? Each pot is a generous 5 grams and comes with instructions and a nice pink metallic applicator. Vela is described as, “…navy blue”.
Here is the bonus swatch of Quite Olive gel polish! She’s a fabulous red gel polish with tons of shimmer. I wore it all Christmas weekend!
Quite Olive by Madam Glam is described as, “Sparkly red with a hint of orange. This color was inspired by the gorgeous Kalamata olives. Nothing makes red wine more delicious than some good olives and a gorgeous manicure.” Here she is in 3 coats. It’s a perfect pimento shimmer for a holiday mani!Quite Olive is a red jelly like shiner and as a soak-off gel polish, I recommend 3 coats for full coverage. But wow, it’s shiny and stunning.

If you read my recent post review on the new CND Creative Play™ line of 80 shades and formulas, you know by now the diverse selection available. In the next week or two I’ll be sharing more colors from this innovative collection. Please read first post from the other day! For now, enjoy with me a gorgeous black with holo, and a couple gorgeous blues!
CND Creative Play™ Turquoise Tidings is a 3-coat on its own, or 1 coat over another color glitter fill jelly. By itself, it’s a mermaidy combo of holo and iridescent glitters, and it’s gorgeous over a dark shade, like you see here over Navy Brat CND Creative Play. Here is two coats of CND Creative Play™ Nocturne It Up. In a very blackened jelly base, it’s loaded, yet smooth, with holographic glitters in various sizes.Navy Brat, a CND Creative Play™ creme in deep Navy blue. Here it is in two coats and great formula. Amazingly smooth! My 2nd installment of CND Creative Play™ polishes are black and blues! From left, Navy Brat, a 2-coat navy blue creme; Nocturne It Up, a black jelly holographic glitter 2-coat glossy polish. And Turquoise It Up, an ocean blue jelly filled with iridescent holographic glitter top coat, or you can accomplish full coverage in three coats on its own.
CONCLUSION: Love all of these. The creme is butter smooth and the jelly/glitter combos are pretty darn opaque and smooth in only 2-3 coats.

Right up my alley, or maybe I should say beach path. I love the beach, the sand, the glorious shades of water and the wild life on top and below. Today I get to share with you a perfect pair of polishes from Deborah Lippmann, Life’s a Beach. And that packaging! Can you just?! Call me cray, but I’m keeping these cuties inside the package when I’m not painting with them. Brilliant DL!
Brave the waves with The Tide Is High, an aquatic blue crème and Break 4 Love, a bubblegum pink crème. I lean more toward Break 4 Love as a coral creme. $17/set. 2 bottles at 8mL each
I found both polishes apply great, on the thick side due to their high pigmentation. Both cremes are glossy as heck. For this mani I chose to do a “coral in the water” look. 😉
Break 4 Love is a soft coral pink creme (2-coater) very pigmented and glossy. The Tide is High is an aquatic blue creme. I was immediately inspired to beach up my look with some coral art over this sea-worthy blue. What a perfectly sundrenched pair!
I also received for review three nail treatments. I love that Hard Rock is ready to rock as a base and top coat. And it’s nail strengthening. Something we all need when spending so much time in the sun and water.
• Hard Rock base and top coat nail strengthening nail treatment. A rock solid choice to strengthen and protect, this protein-rich treatment encourages healthy nail growth. It’s especially beneficial for weak nails or post gel and artificial nail removal. Apply a thin layer over bare nails, or use as a base or top coat. For best results of nail strengthening, apply a thin layer the next day and every day until you change your nail polish. .5 Fl. Oz. 15 mL • Addicted to Speed top coat super quick-drying. You’re out the door—in a flash. This high-shine top coat dries fast so you can go about your business without a smear, smudge or scratch. Apply a thin layer over nail color. .5 Fl. Oz. 15 mL • Turn Back Time anti-aging base coat. Just like skin, our nails age. This innovative treatment puts the process in reverse. Light diffusing micronized diamond core powder reduces the appearance of yellowing and staining to restore a youthful luster. Use as a base coat before color, or wear alone for a brilliant bare finish. .5 Fl. Oz. 15 mL All three are $20ea.
Addicted to Speed Quick Drying Top Coat is amazing! I mean rock hard in two minutes.
Turn Back Time, a super base coat and I’ll report back later if I see anti-aging results. I’m sure it is with all those healthy ingredients!
Conclusion: All products are amazing as expected. Love the Life’s a Beach shades and Addicted to Speed is FAST!
7 Free Formula. Contains no toluene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, camphor or DBP (Dibutyl Phthalate). No animal testing.
I was so excited to be able to test the new Deborah Lippmann Gel Lab Pro Colors, in the Happy Days Collection for summer 2016. The New Healthy Alternative to Gel Polish. There are four shades for your reminiscing pleasure. I want to start with a disclaimer, not a bad one. But I didn’t get the Gel Lab Pro Base and Top coats with this set. I’ll explain shortly. I think I would have had different results, but for the sake of these gorgeous colors, let’s get to it!
For best results use Gel Lab Pro base and top coat. Bottles are full size, .5 Fl. Oz. 15 mL with new contour brush, 45% more bristles for a streak-free finish. Rounded tip follows nail shape for precise application.
I want to start off saying the new brushes are phenomenal. I’d like to see DL polishes all feature these dense, contoured brushes in fact! They make application a breeze. Ok, on with the show.
Combining the technology of Gel Lab Pro with nail color, this dual-patented formula with 10 active ingredients helps deliver Health, Wear & Shine. From top and clockwise: Happy Days, Splish Splash, Beauty School Dropout and My Boyfriend’s Back.
Let’s start with Beauty School Dropout. Such a pleasing pink. You’ll be blowing bubbles in no time with this quick drying highly pigmented formula. All four of these by the way are so pigmented they almost seem chalky in application. Which again, is why I would recommend using the base and top coat.
Beauty School Dropout is a bubblegum pink creme. It’s glossy and very opaque. I used 2 coats but with the Gel Lab Pro base coat you might get away with 1 coat.
Splish Splash is a green leaning aqua. One of my fave summer colors.
Splish Splash was my favorite of this Happy Days Collection. I love aqua green cremes. 2 coats here.
Everyone loves a happy coral! Happy Days.
Happy Days is a coral creme, a pinky coral that appears to have a tiny bit of shimmer, but that doesn’t show on the nail. 2-3 coats with the GLP base coat.
Finally, here is My Boyfriend’s Back. Not literally, that’s the name of the shade. LOL I’m married. 😉
My Boyfriend’s Back is a denim, deep cerulean blue creme. 2 coats and very shiny on its own as are all of these.
Conclusion: I love the colors and the brush. I like how pigmented these are. I feel the application would be a bit less streaky with the Gel Lab Pro base coat and the length of wear would be longer with the GLP top coat. Much like the OPI Infinite Shine system, to truly reap the full benefits of the GLP system, I highly recommend you purchase the base and top as well. So excited to see Deborah Lippmann introducing this safe alternative to gel colour! This brush is perfection. Virtually no cleanup. Note: I didn’t receive the Gel Lab Pro Base and Top Coats which I’m assuming are pretty essential for this product to make a GLP mani last. Without it I found no difference in wear compared to the other polishes without the GLP ingredients. I’ll try to see if they can send the base and top to see how application and extended wear changes and update this post!
www.deborahlippmann.com, and at Barney’s New York, Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Sephora stores nationwide. $20ea msrp.
7 Free Formula. Contains no toluene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, camphor or DBP (Dibutyl Phthalate). No animal testing.
Now that Spring is fully on deck, our nail lacquer lovers are seeking all things shiny and new. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Spring than freshly painted nails. One of my fave indie nail brands, ILNP has two 2016 polish collection you’ll crave. A couple of weeks ago I posted my review on the ILNP Spring Jellies and today I’ll present the Spring Collection. These babies all scream for the sun (which is why I shot most of the photos in the sun!). Let’s take a look!
Available NOW for $72/set or $10ea, except for the one on top left, Mayfield (an Ultra Chrome Flaky!) From top left and down: Mayfield, Daisy Jane, Deja Vu, Apricot Cream, Bulletproof Symphony, Skyscraper and Rolling Hills.
Let’s start with a somewhat nude but fully holographic stunner, Apricot Cream.
I just had to photograph most of these in the sun to show you the glorious sparkle! Apricot Cream is described as, “a deliciously unique nail polish with a milky rich finish. Perfectly accented with gold micro-flakes and uniformly fine holographic pigments, this tasty shade is the sophisticated dessert that your nails have been waiting for! Fully opaque in 2 to 3 coats!” I needed only 2 coats. $10.00
Deja Vu is an intense linear holo, the best kind!

Soft, subtle, and complemented with a precise amount of holographic pigment, Deja Vu will surely have you looking twice! Fully opaque in 2 to 3 coats!” I applied only 2 coats! $10.00
Rolling Hills, ahh, you can almost smell the dew on fresh-cut grass!
Rolling Hills is described as, “a refreshing, iced mint Ultra Metallic polish laced with an array of holographic micro flakes! Pay close attention and you’ll notice a subtle hint blue-to-teal, color traveling shimmer for a finish that’s to die for Rolling Hills is part of ILNP’s Ultra Metallics™ class of incredibly vivid metallic finish nail polishes; specifically formulated with various ultra-thin metallic flakes for a blinding sparkle with an undeniably rich finish and super-easy removal! Fully opaque in 2 to 3 coats!” I used two coats. $10.00
Sweet, petite and oh so feminine, Daisy Jane!
Daisy Jane is described as, “a dainty and soft baby pink polish with the perfect holographic sparkle! Daisy Jane’s holographic micro-flakes provide a wonderfully scattered holographic twinkle without compromising its delicate pink hue. Contrasted with a subtle amount of gold flakes and red shimmer, Daisy Jane is a perfect balance of delicate and breathtaking! Fully opaque in 2 to 3 coats!” I used 3 coats. $10.00
Major sparkle and long wearing Bulletproof Symphony.
Bulletproof Symphony is described as, “a super unique medium periwinkle Ultra Metallic polish loaded with silver flakes and an arsenal of holographic magic! Look even closer and you’ll catch an extra vivid red sparkle that gives this wonderful polish a seriously gorgeous twist! Bulletproof Symphony is part of ILNP’s Ultra Metallics™ class of incredibly vivid metallic finish nail polishes; specifically formulated with various ultra-thin metallic flakes for a blinding sparkle with an undeniably rich finish and super-easy removal! Fully opaque in 2 to 3 coats!” I got it opaque in 2 coats. $10.00
Drop dead gorgeous over any nail color or alone, Mayfield.
My sun photo was too intense to show you the gorgeous flakies the way I wanted. So this is in shade. Mayfield is described as, “a stunning combination of color-shifting Ultra Chrome Flakies. Mayfield features a gorgeous array of colors including purple, pink, green, gold, orange and turquoise! Use Mayfield as a topper over your favorite nail polish or brush on a few layers for full coverage. ILNP Ultra Chrome Flakies are fully opaque and can be worn alone or over any color without affecting the intense color shifting properties. Full coverage in 3 – 4 coats.” $12.50
Yes, big cities enjoy spring too! Here is Skyscraper.
Skyscraper is described as, “an amazingly tasty light periwinkle Ultra Holo with an insane finish! Step out into the sun and watch how this luxurious stunner sparkles like it’s stuffed with diamonds! Skyscraper is part of ILNP’s new “Ultra Holo” class of super intense holographic nail polishes; specifically formulated for maximum, in-your-face holographic sparkle! Fully opaque in 2 to 3 coats!” I only needed two coats. $10.00
Conclusion: Not to sound like a broken record. But I don’t know any more words I can say but this collection is a dream. From formula, to application, great wear and gorgeous shades and sparkle, ILNP Spring Collection is drop dead gorgeous!

The month of March brings SquareHue The Adventure Collection Pub Crawl Dublin collection! An eye-popping set of juicy shades featuring two different finishes. I’m loving these shades and a fun addition and sort of rare is the white texture.
Timid yet brilliant blue high gloss creme is St. John. A quick drying glass finish. The creamy orange is super glossy as well, it’s called Temple Bar. And the one shade begs to differ from the others, a shy creme white, but not super pure white…it’s a sparkly textured finish.
You won’t have the blues when you’re wearing blue hues like this! St. John is gorgeous!
St. John is a caribbean blue, maybe reminiscent of Curacao? A creme blue, 2 coats here.
Juicy orange creme, Temple Bar looks good enough to eat.
Temple Bar reminds me of a glass of OJ with creme mixed in. Really glossy, 2 coats here.
A sugary textured white, Bridge Inn, not too white but very complimentary to every skin tone.
Bridge Inn is a slightly off white textured polish that looks like it contains a good portion of sugar! 2 coats, on the thick side, but totally doable.
Conclusion: No blarney here, these polishes are perfect for March! The Temple Bar and St. John shades are glossy and quick drying, only required 2 coats. Bridge Inn took a bit more patience in application, but that is how textures are. The outcome is worth the effort.

Unless you are totally new to Facebook or have been living under a rock, you may realize by now that belonging to a fan group for cosmetics comes with perks. I’ll get right to the point. I have been a fan and ultimately swatcher/reviewer for Baroness X for some time now. As soon as owner of indie cosmetic company, Baroness X, started a closed fan group on Facebook, The X Army, I immediately jumped in with both feet! Perks include firsthand info on upcoming polishes, cosmetics, collections and sales, and ultimately group custom items only members can order. Take a peek at this awesome group custom package I bought from Baroness X!
This is how my amazing Doomfire package arrived. The best part obviously is the Doomfire polish group custom, limited. An adorable adjustable unicorn ring, two emery boards, purple iridescent earrings and 2 unicorn horn scented guest soaps. How cute are these!?!This limited polish available only to Baroness X fan group members on Facebook makes it extra special! Creator Demetria knocks this one out of the park!SO good to be a part of The X Army Facebook group for Baroness X fans! This group custom, Doomfire is breathtaking! Sigh-worthy! It’s a purpley blue jelly base with a plethora of firey pink or copper shimmers.
And now for a little closeup just to make you a tiny bit jealous. Just a bit. 🙂
Drooling much? Wow!Just a little temptation to show you how amazing this polish is. And one more reason to show you it pays to become a cosmetic group member on Facebook. You can’t get these any other way!
Just a thought: Please respect these amazing indie companies. I want to state that it is bad form to join a group just to order a group custom, then bail the group. I put it up there with “liking” or joining a blog fan group or Instagram follower to enter a contest for prizes then when you don’t win, unfollow. Just FYI!

Today I’ve chosen four more fall fashion shades from the Mosi Mei luxury nail lacquer store at www.mosimei.com. All of these have superior formulas today have immense shine apply like a dream. If you got to read my first review (HERE) you’ll know how impressed I already am! Let’s get started!
Here are some fall fashion lacquer choices from the Mosi Mei store. From left: Original, Modern, Debonair and Secure. All are Ultra Shine glosses.
Let’s start with that glossy deep purple which I’m an immediate sucker for, Original.
Original is an opaque Ultra shine deep dusty purple, 2-coat creme. This is your fall purple folks!
Here is Original mattified with Mosi Mei’s own Matte topcoat.
Here is “Original” mattified with Mosi Mei Matte. A quick drying, very mattifying Matte topcoat. It imparts such a velvety feel to any polish.
Next up is a super shiny pale grey, Modern. It’s a clean palette for your fall nail art!
Modern is an opaque Ultra shine, pale cool toned grey, 1-coat creme.
One of the glossiest deep blues I’ve ever tried, Debonair!
Debonair is an opaque Ultra gloss deep navy blue, creme. Is there a description beyond Ultra? Mega maybe? lol
And last, for today that it, a chocolatey brown, Secure.

Today I’ll be reviewing the new (and available now) Zoya MatteVelvet Winter/Holiday 2015 collection. Let me preface by saying that these shades are completely different than the last collection…in case you were wondering! Zoya says, “The best-selling, MATTEVELVET finish returns this holiday season with six new shades. Each nail polish perfectly opaque, matte color with that extra special ZOYA MATTEVELVET fleck finish everyone loves.” Let’s take a look at what you’ll be wanting!
The Zoya MatteVelvet nail colors to slip into this Winter/Holiday season. From left: Aspen, Amal, Honor, Iris, Sue and Yves.
I’ll start with Aspen. She’s a clean, crisp, snowy white with the prettiest diamond pearl fleck. So hard to capture but believe me, she’s gorgeous!
Aspen, 2 coats, is described as: Aspen (ZP814) – a sparkling artic white with a micronized diamond pearl fleck.
Next is Amal, a classic crimson ruby-red. So perfect for the holidays!
Amal, 2 coats, is described as: Amal (ZP816) – a classic crimson red with a ruby red pearl fleck.
Honor is one of those essential greens for your holiday nailwear!
Honor, 2 coats, is described as: Honor (ZP819) – a true emerald green with a tone on tone emerald pearl fleck.
Iris is the perfect name for this regal amethyst purple.
Iris, 2 coats, is described as: Iris (ZP817) – a deep amethyst with a fuchsia pearl fleck.
Sue, she’s a delicate champagne gold with oyster pearl fleck. The sheerest of the bunch, so 2-3 coats will do the trick.
Sue, 2 coats, is described as: Sue (ZP815) – a soft champagne gold with a multi-hued oyster shell pearl fleck.
And last is Yves. A deep sapphire blue.
Yves, 1-2 coats, is described as: Yves (ZP818) – a deep sapphire that’s midway in between indigo and royal blue with a blue pearl fleck.
Conclusion: I always love the MatteVelvets and these shades for 2015 are all gorgeous. I can’t pick a favorite! But I DO love how Yves and Iris look on me. I want you to know they are all easy to apply and fairly quick drying. You can (although Zoya advises against it, see below) apply a gloss topcoat for a shiny look and it really brings out the hidden treasures of sparkle within. They suggest to apply a thin coat of the Matte Velvet Topcoat to retain the velvety appearance. They also suggest no base coat is needed. I will have to mention that I did leave Yves (the deep blue) on my bare nails overnight and experienced slight staining. That will go away, but I think a base coat on this one would have not allowed stains. Do not let this minor issue steer you away from experiencing lovely Yves!
NOTE: MATTEVELVET nail color by Zoya is not intended to be worn with a base coat, glossy top coat or speed dryer. Due to the unique matte formulation, color is not as long-wearing as traditional nail color. A completely clean, dry surface yields the best results for matte nail color wear. To extend wear, apply one coat of the Zoya Matte Velvet Topcoat over your favorite matte shades after polish is completely dry. AVAILABLE NOW!
ZOYA IS THE HEALTHY COLOR OF FASHION! Zoya MATTEVELVET Colors, 0.5 oz. – $10 (US) ea. Zoya MATTEVELVET Color Sampler, 6 – 0.5 oz. bottles – $60 (US)
Available in top salons, spas and on zoya.com
I received the CND Vinylux Weekly Polish Autumn Wedding trio recently from RPR Marketing. The trio is a fanciful mix of dark and light. Negligee is a perfect semi-sheer pink for the bride. Or maybe in keeping with tradition of “something blue”, Creekside as a pale blue creme that is very bride or bridesmaid appropriate. Faux Fur is a deep chocolate cream, and a perfect choice for an autumn themed wedding.
Fall Wedding in your near future? Here’s a fancy trio that might work for you! Left: Creekside, top: Faux Fur, right: Negligee.
“Something Old, Something New, Something Brown & Something Blue.”
Negligee is a semi-sheer pink nude with a very delicate touch of blue shimmer, 2-4 depending on how sheer you want it.
My fave of the bunch, Negligee is a sheer pale pink with a touch of blue shimmer. the formula is glossy and in two coats you get an innocent, creamy and delicate effect. I think you might get full opacity in 3 coats, but I loved the semi-sheer look of 2.
Creekside is a light, sky blue creme. 2 coats.
Creekside is a creamy baby blue, 2 coats and a glossy finish. Perfect for “something blue”!
Faux Fur is a deep chocolate creme. 2 coats.
Faux Fur is a dark chocolate brown creme, very opaque and fairly glossy.
CONCLUSION: Negligee was my favorite, and I don’t often say that about sheers or semi-sheers. But this shade and formula also excels at correcting yellow tints to the nail. 2 coats and you could not see the slightly yellow tinge I have on my natural nails from repeated polish use. Faux Fur had a couple of problems although once I applied both coats and shook the heck out of the bottle, the little brown pigment specs finally mixed through. I think it was a bottle that hadn’t been properly mixed. But it’s fine now. Creekside, and I’ve featured it before, was as perfect as a pale blue cream can get!
