Baroness X group custom Doomfire is hot!

Unless you are totally new to Facebook or have been living under a rock, you may realize by now that belonging to a fan group for cosmetics comes with perks. I’ll get right to the point. I have been a fan and ultimately swatcher/reviewer for Baroness X for some time now. As soon as owner of indie cosmetic company, Baroness X, started a closed fan group on Facebook, The X Army, I immediately jumped in with both feet! Perks include firsthand info on upcoming polishes, cosmetics, collections and sales, and ultimately group custom items only members can order. Take a peek at this awesome group custom package I bought from Baroness X!

This is how my amazing Doomfire package arrived. The best part obviously is the Doomfire polish group custom, limited. An adorable adjustable unicorn ring, two emery boards, purple iridescent earrings and 2 unicorn horn scented guest soaps. How cute are these!?!

This limited polish available only to Baroness X fan group members on Facebook makes it extra special! Creator Demetria knocks this one out of the park!

SO good to be a part of The X Army Facebook group for Baroness X fans! This group custom, Doomfire is breathtaking! Sigh-worthy! It's a purpley blue jelly base with a plethora of firey pink or copper shimmers.

And now for a little closeup just to make you a tiny bit jealous. Just a bit. 🙂

Drooling much? Wow!

Just a little temptation to show you how amazing this polish is. And one more reason to show you it pays to become a cosmetic group member on Facebook. You can't get these any other way!

Just a thought: Please respect these amazing indie companies. I want to state that it is bad form to join a group just to order a group custom, then bail the group. I put it up there with “liking” or joining a blog fan group or Instagram follower to enter a contest for prizes then when you don’t win, unfollow. Just FYI!

Baroness X Dreamscape Part II shines!

I have been dying to get this review out to my lovely readers for a couple of weeks now. I received this set right at Christmastime and I was also recovering from being sick most of December. My sweet hubby just has double carpal tunnel surgery the other day, well, on our anniversary! Needless to say, we are healing up nicely, my company has departed and the dust has settled in our house. 😉 I’m so excited to finally share these four gorgeous polishes with you. The Baroness X Dreamscape Part II collection is a simply put, “DREAMY”! Let’s take a look at these fabulous indie creations!

The Dreamscape Pt. II collection is a set of 4 iridescent shifty micro flakies and thin metallic shard glitter polishes. Opacity: use 1-2 coats as a topper over any color you'd like, looks best over black or complimenting darker colors. From left/rear: Dynastic, Phantasmic, Surrealistic and Etheric.

Opacity: use 1-2 coats as a topper over any color you’d like, looks best over black or complimenting darker colors. From left/rear: Dynastic, Phantasmic, Surrealistic and Etheric.

The formulas are smooth and glide nicely over any basecoat (and it is recommended that you use a deep, dark or black underneath to really show how these babies pop). They dry fairly smooth and I recommend a thin topcoat. They wear really well. After swatching all four of these, I wore one of them for full week, plus a couple of days. Although easy to remove, I had very little tip wear and no chipping. On with the Dreamscapes!

First up, Etheric!

Etheric seems like it was made for a glossy black undercoat. Shown here is one thin coat over Chloe & Bella "Blackout".

Etheric is described as: "Etheric is a glass flakie polish with fuchsia glitter shards. The flakies are a larger size which promotes a strong multichrome effect. Facing forward you can see a bright teal and it shifts over to blue, purple and then fuchsia. You can wear this on it's own but it looks great over black or complimenting colors."

Dynastic is a dynamo!

Dynastic shines golden with clever green/gold shifts over a deep blackened mahogany red by OPI, "I Sing in Color".

Phantasmic is like peering into the Caribbean!

Phantasmic gives off a mermaidy sheen...a really fluid shade shifter. Here I used one thin coat over "Poison Ivy", a deep blackened green shimmer by Wet 'N Wild.

And Surrealistic is stunning!

Surrealistic simply glows over black polish! Here I used one coat over "Blackout" and topcoated with "Crystal Clear" by Chloe & Bella.

I love how Demi includes glass buttons on the lid tops. Great for when you've got your giant Baroness X collection all crowded into a helmer drawer! The Dreamscape Pt. II collection, from left: Etheric, Dynastic, Phantasmic and Surrealistic.

Quiet Enchantment polish collection by Baroness X: release Sept. 18, I have Part One!

Owner Demi from Baroness X, a wonderful indie polish and cosmetic company sent me Part One of the 2-part collection for fall, Quiet Enchantment. These are twinkly and mysterious, perfect for the blue and purple polish lovers out there. I took three shots apiece of the Multichrome Holos, Ammil and Glisk.

In part 1 of the Quiet Enchantment collection by Baroness X, here are Ammil and Glisk. I love how they've added the sample beads on top of all their bottles! Ammil is definitely purple leaning while Glisk favors the blue side of the spectrum in its base. At first glance both bottles seem very similar, but they aren't!

Ammil is definitely purple leaning while Glisk favors the blue side of the spectrum in its base. At first glance both bottles seem very similar, but they aren’t!

Let’s start with Ammil:

Ammil in dappled sunlight! She’s shifty! Quoting from Baroness X press release:
“Ammil: The icy casings on leaves, twigs, and grasses when a freeze follows a thaw”…is described as an icy blue, purple, red multichrome polish filled with a delicate scattered holo, holo micro shards and a dusting of shifting royal blue glass microflecks. 2-3 coats”

Ammil in filtered daylight. Endless sparkle!

Next up from the Multichrome Holos is Glisk:

Glisk in the shade, 2 coats. “Glisk: To glisten, glimmer, and shine”…is described as a green, blue, purple multichrome polish filled with a delicate scattered holo and micro holo shards, and a sprinkling of shifting micro glass flecks. 2-3 coats.”

Glisk in dappled daylight. The sun kept changing on me when I was shooting these. I really wanted to capture the color shifts in good light. While we are house hunting we are staying at out daughter's home and there aren't enough windows, and a lot of my photo equipment is packed away. Just a temporary problem. ;-)

Baroness X Nail Lacquer new collection, NeoElectro trio is coming soon!

First, let me get a tiny bit of business out-of-the-way. As you know (if you follow me on Instagram, and you should 😉 We have been planning a big move to Texas from Missouri. Now that has happened as of Monday, I’m slowly getting back to a bit of my regular posting routine. Sorry if it seems my blog presence has been a bit spotty in the past month. After living in the same home for 17 years, moving, fixing, sorting, purging and packing was more daunting than I imagined! But we’ve accomplished this phase (moving into our daughter and her hubby’s home while we househunt) and we are super pleased to be here! I’m getting caught up with my posts, which the next few are swatches I had already done before our trip and now time to post! I also trimmed the length of my nails down to keep them from breaking too badly during the move. Thank you for your patience.

Now for the important schtuff! lol This is my first experience with indie brand, Baroness X Nail Lacquer and I couldn’t be more pleased with this cute collection, NeoElectro. Owner, Demi Lee, also has a lot of other gorgeous polishes on her site as well. These formulas are all top notch, and really unique. They are set to release on July 29th, just around the corner. Let’s take a look!

The Neo Electro collection from left: FluoroFizz, Electric Sparks and Neon Bubbles. Each set comes with a set of Flair Free Mani Bombs and 4 hair ties! These are healthy minis in 8 ml size, which cost $18. The full size set (15 ml) size set is $27 and you can purchase full size individually for $10 ea.

First up is FluroFizz and I’ll share with you images both in direct sunlight and a well-lit room.

FluoroFizz is a gorgeous neon pink jelly filled with Spectraflair in the base and the glitters are a mix of matte and holo black glitter (the large circles are holo and some of the smaller glitters are as well. It loves the sun!

Next up is the brilliant Electric Sparks. This one really has kaboom!

Electric Sparks in the sun is gorgeous! I say gorgeous with a singing voice! lol On the ring finger you'll notice I painted one coat over white for an in-your-face highlighter effect. Or you can wear it slightly toned down with 3-4 coats over the bare nail. Easy to apply, easy to remove.

Electric Sparks in indoor natural light. You can still see the glitzy sterling silver flakies even without direct sunlight. Stunning!

And a macro shot of Electric Sparks because it’s just mesmerizing!

Macro of Electric Sparks. So simple but complex to describe. The highlighter yellow/green jelly base contains various small sizes of silver flakies. This gives them the appearance of having a golden hue, especially in the sun. It stunning! This is the nail with one coat over a white base.

And the third in this little collection is Neon Bubbles. How cute is this one?!

Neon Bubbles, even the name is fun! Here she is in full sunlight. I didn't try her alone, but this is one coat, smooth as silk. over a deep fuscia gloss. NB is filled with neon micro glitters of pink, aqua, yellow, green, and black. I think I got them all, oh and holo glitter.

Thanks so much for reading! All in all, I’m super impressed and highly recommend these polishes. Go check out Demi’s other collections while you are at it. Lots and lots of pretties!
