Yeouth Vitamin C Facial Cleanser with Aloe Green Tea & Ginseng
I have had the delightful assignment of trying out this amazing cleanser. I wanted to give it at least a couple weeks to properly test it and determine my progress. I have “mature” skin 😆 and do not wear makeup unless I go out somewhere.
My target problem this winter has been patchy dry areas, (almost like sandpaper!) specifically around my eyebrows and forehead, either side of my nose on my face, and around my mouth. Within the first couple of days using the cleanser day and night, it began to soften up and exfoliate as I rubbed over the problem areas. Seeing this result, I did a further test, after a few days, and washed switching to plain foaming soap, not the Yeouth cleanser. And sure enough, the dry skin sloughing I happily experienced, stopped and refused to soften up. I went back to the Yeouth cleanser and the softening continued to improve. It isn’t quite where I want it to be, as soft as my cheeks are! Lol But we are getting there. Note: I don’t have this patchy problem except in the winter.
So I would say this is a winner!

I especially love that there is barely, I do mean Barely scent! My skin appreciates that. I love that, as you can see from the photo, it is crystal clear and free of dyes, and artificial scents. And not test on animals.
I was contacted via Instagram by NutraFitz Global Ambassador, Jeanette, aka Insta handle @themagnificentmom, to test an amazing supplement called 5-HTP Whole Food Griffonia Simplicifolia capsules. I researched it first as I don’t just take supplements willy nilly at my age. But I found the ingredients to be all natural and safe, and was delighted to give them a try.
I take only one in the morning and it is all that is required. I have been sleeping great! And let me tell you, part of the reason why I have been a bit AWOL on my blog the past couple of months is due to a few injuries from the intense work I have been doing in the garden and yard since spring. Before the 5-HTP, although I was exhausted from the daily workout provided by my yard revamp (still more to do), I couldn’t get my legs to settle down. And with the supplements, I have nearly endless energy. Enough even with the Texas heat that my husband has to call me inside! That is awesome! I highly recommend this product.
Here is what NutraFitz has to say about their 5-HTP supplement (120 capsules/1 per day!:
“As with any supplement, in order to achieve maximum benefits of a 5-HTP supplement it is important to start with a high-quality supplement.
Our unique formula begins with a pure and concentrated organic Griffonia simplicifolia extract at 98% (most on the market are 95% or less and NOT organic). We added organic sunflower lecithin oil to enhance absorption, and we include the quality form of B6 (p5p) which will give you better conversion to serotonin. All of this creates better absorption providing you with stronger effects from your supplement.
5-HTP converts directly into serotonin in your brain. Serotonin is your brains ‘happiness’ hormone and is key for mood support. Other important roles include better sleep, appetite, memory, learning, temperature regulation, sexual behavior, cardiovascular function, muscle contraction, and endocrine regulation. Another reason 5-HTP is so beneficial for sleep and mood is because once it is ingested, serotonin also gets converted into another important “master” chemical – melatonin. Melatonin is your body’s natural sleep hormone and it’s responsible for maintaining healthy sleeping patterns. Many people also use 5-HTP for weight loss because it helps reduce your appetite.
Serotonin production declines with age, and at any age its abundance can be compromised further by stress. Low levels of serotonin are most commonly manifested by depressed mood, anxiety, and insomnia. They can also lead to various other complaints and disorders, diminishing one’s quality of life. Dietary supplementation can help boost levels of 5 HTP and therefore serotonin and melatonin production, enabling you to live a better quality of life.”
I am loving these Yeouth skincare products, especially since it is now summer and I am in Texas! My skin needs all the help it can get. I am happy to say these Yeouth products are amazing!
I was contacted by Sabrina, a YEOUTH Global Ambassador via Instagram @yeouthskincare to test and review another one of their skin care products. Neck Firming Cream with Green Tea, Argireline and Vitamin C
I noticed right away that applying this cream over slightly damp skin, you need such a tiny amount. And some of the effects are immediately noticeable. It goes on very smooth, very slight natural scent and no added perfumes. I love that it is all natural. I have noticed in the short time I have used it a lot of crepeyness is diminishing, however it is to be expected the firming effects will take a bit longer. I use a slight spritz of water mixed with witch hazel on my skin first.
Here are the deets directly from the Yeouth website describing their Neck Firming Cream:
““This powerful multitasking age-defying neck firming cream is formulated to help target and improve the appearance of the delicate skin of the neck and dècolletè, helping it to regain its suppleness. The neck, dècolletè, and jawline areas appear firmed and re-defined as skin regains a smoother, more lifted appearance.
• Green Tea contains very strong, natural antioxidants called polyphenols that neutralize damaging free radicals, which can cause significant damage to the skin and accelerate the aging process. Green tea’s antioxidant property is key to its skin-protective and repairing qualities.
• Argireline is made up of peptides, which are chains of amino acids that can affect how cells in the body work. When Argireline is applied to the skin, it is absorbed into the body and the cream’s chemical composition causes the facial muscles to contract with less force. This diminishes the appearance of wrinkles and can smooth out fine lines that appear with aging.
• Vitamin C is rich with powerful antioxidants that has limitless benefits. YEOUTH used Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, a stable, oil-soluble form of Vitamin C that is very helpful for anti-oxidation and collagen synthesis. When topically applied, Vitamin C provides a skin-rejuvenating effect by improving collagen synthesis in the skin that slows down with aging, as well as limiting skin damage from free radicals. What it does:
• This intensely hydrating formula assists over time with promoting collagen production and skin elasticity while reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging
• Boosts skin hydration, firmness, and elasticity, great for aged and sun-damaged skin
• Minimizes the look of vertical lines on the delicate skin on the neck and decollete
• Helps reduce the signs of UV damage to restore an even skintone. How it’s made:
• MADE IN THE USA
• Paraben Free
• Sulfate Free
• Phthalates Free
• Fragrance Free
• GMO Free
• Triclosan Free”
I was contacted by Sabrina, a YEOUTH Global Ambassador via Instagram @yeouthskincare to test and review one of their skin care products. Now I love Hyaluronic acid serums and I was more than happy to give it a shot. As with all serums like this, they take time and assist your skin to build up healthy cells. I got my bottle in mid April and started using it right away. It’s a very light serum, applied to damp skin. After cleansing, I mist on straight aloe juice then apply the tiniest dot of this serum to my face, neck, chest and tops of my hands. Then follow up with sunscreen before going outside.
I have indeed noticed a softening and slight plumping on my face. I think my neck and arms will take a bit more work as I have sadly neglected them with too much sun exposure and not enough protection. My bad! Oh, and I LOVE that it is fragrance free! This serum applies like silk. Their products are satisfaction guaranteed, inexpensive and the company is very transparent in their production practices. Nice!
According to a 2018 Tweet by #Yeouth, “Animals don’t have to suffer for us to attain good looks. In support of #crueltyfree cosmetics, All Yeouth products are at 20% OFF from July 30 to August 5. Say no to animal testing by choosing cruelty-free beauty products…” This is a huge PLUS in my book in regards to skin care products. Well done Youth! My Hermione approves!
According to Yeouth, Here are the key functions of what goes into the Vitamin C&E Serum with Hyaluronic Acid:
•Vitamin C – a nutrient that is vital to skin health, Vitamin C effectively protects the skin from free radicals, reviving aged and sun-damaged skin.
•Hyaluronic Acid – nourishes your skin with spring water-like hydration, keeping skin plump and smooth through its ability to bind and hold moisture in the skin’s cells.
•Vitamin E – acting as your skin’s shield from harmful UV rays, natural Vitamin E works hard to even skin tone and build a protective barrier for your skin.”

So, you may have noticed my posts have been a bit spotty since the end of March. With Springtime gardening on my docket, my attention has been nearly completely diverted to the outdoor tasks at hand, giving me less time to post reviews. Sorry, but my yard was calling me and for nail-related posts, I had to back off simply due to the fact, my nails have looked horrendous! That isn’t a bad thing, I’m getting a nice yard out of my labors and veggies and herbs, oh my! lol
But I did recieve another Influenster VoxBox to try, one by L’Oreal.
They sent me Age Perfect Rosy Tone Moisturizer and Rosy Tone Eye Brightener. I had high hopes until I started reading some of the ingredients were, not my cup of tea. But I mushed on and have given it time to win me over. #1, I don’t much care for scented things on my face. It makes me nervous to have too many chemicals having their way with my skin. Secondly, upon trying them on my face, I found little difference in the appearance of my skin. It’s not a makeup replacement, not a BB cream, too sheer to make a difference and low and behold, it’s got mica in it which means in the sun, sparkly reflections. I don’t like that on my face. Hard to see in my photos, but it is there.
The eye brightener did not deliver in regards to toning down dark areas, not even close. These creams tout having the ability to “renew, revive healthy tone for visibly younger looking skin.” It did not “visibly correct dark circles.” So yeah, sorry L’Oreal, these are both a miss for me. And why would they note the eye brightener is Mineral Oil Free, while the moisturizer contains it? With ingredients like, “Synthetic Fluorphlogophite” and “Tin Oxide” to name a fraction of what is inside, Ummmm, NO!
The “Immediate” payoff is not there, and the “in 4 weeks” promise? I’m not even counting on that.
Sorry this had to be so negative. Let me know if you have tried these. I am on a different path, a much belated one in regards to trying to reverse some aging and sun damage. I want more natural things that encourage skin and collagen regeneration. I want to fight free radicals and sketchy chemicals. This type of product doesn’t seem to want to do that. Until next time, that’s it on this box. I promise, I have a feeling my next one will be a lot more fun!
**I received this product through the Influenster program free of charge for complimentary and testing purposes, and was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own.
Wow, that is a mouthful, “Perricone MD Cold Plasma+ Fragile Skin Therapy” Body Treatment with Growth Factor Peptides, Micro-Hyaluronic Acid, retinol! I received this amazing full size 6 oz. lotion in an Influenster VoxBox a couple of weeks ago. Now if you are familiar with any peptide, acid serum or lotion type skin therapies, they take a little time to begin showing signs of success. I am pretty confident that this treatment will follow suit and it has only been a couple of weeks, so I call it as I do my other new serums I have started using, “T.E.T.T” How is that for an acronym? LOL Too Early To Tell. However, I will say it glides on like silk, does not feel greasy, heavy or grainy in any way. Here are a few images of the lotion and packaging.
Perricone says of this skin therapy lotion, “This multi-tasking powerhouse dramatically promotes the most visible signs of stronger, more resilient skin on the arms, shins and other fragile areas prone to damage or bruising. Our proprietary liquid crystal delivery system allows for fast and deep penetration of key ingredients and hydration to nourish, strengthen and replenish. Dramatically improves the appearance of thin, crepey and delicate skin, leaving it feeling smoother and firmer.” And…”Promotes the most visible signs of stronger skin on arms, shins and other fragile areas.
Dramatically improves the appearance of thin, crepey and delicate skin, leaving it feeling smoother and firmer.”
And here are some of their test results, which you can see why only two weeks for me is TETT!
100% showed an improvement in the appearance of lines, wrinkles, skin crepiness*
• 94% showed an improvement in skin density & skin barrier function*
• 82% showed an improvement in skin tone evenness***
*In a clinical study of 33 women over 4 weeks
***In a clinical study of 33 women at 8 weeks
• Consumer Results
94% saw smoothing of rough, damaged skin**
87% saw an improvement in fragile skin & felt skin had more elasticity**
**In a consumer study of 99 women over 4 weeks”
Again, it is too early to tell a difference, but I am anticipating good things from this high-end product. I am testing it on my neck, chest and the top of my hands. You can also use it on your shins, however I won’t need it there, my skin is pretty tough there but one can use it anywhere they feel their skin is fragile and vulnerable to damage or thinning.
I would love to be on the VoxBox list for future Perricone MD products for my sun-challenged skin. I am on a new and purposeful path to improving my skin. I am no spring chicken. LOL I will update you when I have more to report on my Instagram @lacqueredLori.
So, you know we all age, and some of us more gracefully than others. I accept the silver hairs among my golden locks, so I “highlight” my hair. No biggie. But it is thinning, I am not okay with that. And my skin is suffering from years of unprotected sun exposure. My bad! Sun is good, and so is vitamin D. But too much of a good thing blah, blah, blah. LOL So now I am being Post Active. No proactive. I am having to make up for my “maturing” ways and lack of healthy skin care. Here is my current plan. Derma rolling, exfoliation and healthy acids like hyaluronic acid and Vitamin C serums. I have Youtubed and online shopped till my eyes bled to research what I needed and how to use them. So I am off to a good start. And any manufacturers by the way interested in having me test and review their natural products here, let me know! Let’s take a look at my most recent skin care items from one particularly amazing eBay seller, Joy!
Now for the disclaimer, I purchased two of the .5mm derma rollers, and she sent me the three konjac sponges to try so I told her I would most certainly would love to test them out on my blog! Also, I will post in the future after taking before and after shots of my skin, not my whole face (you don’t want to see my face 😉 a few months into this process. Derma rolling is not a quick fix, with empty promises and faked outcomes. It is a long proven method of encouraging the skin’s sluggish collagen production to plump up, produce more collagen from the microscopic punctures placed on the skin from derma rolling. Please watch YouTube videos by the pros people. I am not an esthetician or doctor. I will only say that my plan is to derma roll with a .5mm roller max 2 times a week. I plan to use a .75 on my scalp, as this really does encourage new hair growth, 1-2 times per week. I also will be derma rolling my lips, neck and chest, and backs of my hands.
Sanitization methods I am comfortable with will be clean washed and rinsed skin. Then alcohol pad dabbed over my skin. Alcohol before and after sprayed or poured over the roller. I don’t want any nasty bacteria setting up shop on my skin or rollers. Then within an hour after rolling I will apply my serum(s). It is always best to do this about an hour before bed to give your skin time to rest and recoup from the procedure. Also, I might mention I have researched and the general consensus by pros, is .25mm needles may be used daily, but they don’t go deep enough to cause the beneficial collagen producing micro wounds. So the .25mm is good for a daily treatment (or around the delicate eye zone) which puncture the superficial top layer of the skin, which in turn allows your daily or nightly serums to penetrate better and be more beneficial. I plan to use the .25 nightly for my lips then once a week use .5mm on my lips for rejuvenation and plumping. Yes, it really does that! Info from the derma roller she sells.
“• 192 Individual Stainless Steel Needles. Each needles is installed individually in the aqua roller and each needle is quite sharp.
• Derma rollers are an excellent beauty tool for softening wrinkles, lightening facial scars and shrinking pores.
• It works by puncturing the skin and creating micro injuries that then stimulate collagen and elastin production.
• Using a derma roller before applying your facial serums and moisturizers will allow deeper penetration and more absorption. We recommend using Vitamin C serum, or any other serum you may be using, immediately after using the derma roller.
• This derma roller is a safe and cost effective way of brightening your skin at home everyday.
• Perfect gift for anyone!
• Return Policy: We offer a 30 day return to any unsatisfied customer for a full refund.”
The konjac sponges are pretty amazing in their own right. Very refreshing and I use them without drying soaps. Best way to exfoliate naturally. And the ones my eBay seller, Joy, sells are quite large. I might mention, Joy also sells on Amazon, links will be below. I am overjoyed to find a seller of these items that are legit. I have been burned by some overseas sellers that post them with photos taken from other sellers. Then the item arrives and it is a cheap knock off version. Here are Joy’s Amazon and eBay links.
Konjac sponges are made from the dried ground root of the konjac, also known as the elephant yam which is native to Asia. Konjac root has many vitamins and minerals which naturally nourish the skin. These sponges gently exfoliate the skin leaving it softer than before. The Pure White sponges are especially popular for those with sensitive skin. Moms love it for their babies since it is 100% natural and free of any other added ingredient. Completely safe for sensitive skin.
Green tea infused konjac sponges come in packs of two, individually packaged. 100% NATURAL and BIODEGRADABLE. It can even be composted with your fruits and vegetables, making it safe for the environment and safe for your skin. Each sponge comes with a string attached for ease of drying. These sponges gently exfoliate your skin leaving it smoother and softer than before. The green tea, infused in the sponges, helps to shrink pores. Green tea contains tannins that act as a natural astringent for the skin. These tannins help to reduce sebum, the skins natural oils, and in turn, reduces pore size. Green Tea has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, which is especially beneficial for the skin when used topically.
The activated charcoal helps to draw out dirt and bacteria from your pores, which helps to soothe acne prone skin.
That is all I have today guys! I am super excited about this journey and I truly wish I had started 10 years ago.
