A bit of stamping fun with G.35/Magenta over SquareHue Southernmost Point.

Here is G.33 Mylar Flakes over Zoya Tiana. 33 is a Seafoam iridescent flake.

G.36 is a beautiful Holo Mylar Flake. A perfect accent to go with your holo pigmented manicure (this holo pigment powder is by Sparkle & CO., Holo Pure, and I love it with black! This black is Black Pool by CND Vinylux.

G. 38/Iridescent Blue/Purple is a gorgeous unicorn like iridescent flake. Here I used it over the beautiful Zoya Jordan.

Here is Mylar Flakes G.39 over a french white nail tip look (white polish is by wHet/Vertigo). G.39 is a Butterscotch iridescent flake.

G.43/Pink is iridescent and so delicate! I used it here over Orly Miss Conduct.

Here is G.46 Mylar Flakes by Sparkle & Co., available now along with 15 other colors through oceansofbeauty.com. A delicate flexible flake in Deep Sea Blue, here over Sparkle & Co. gel polish #38, Solid Royal Blue.

Here is a gorgeous Purple/Blue iridescent Mylar Flake G.47 over Sally Hansen Black Tie.

• My Tips for application: For the more metallic, heavier flakes, use a heavier gel type topcoat for a coat over the flakes. I like Gelous (available at Sally’s). This makes a heavier top coat, 1-2 coats, for a smoother finish. The larger the flakes, the stiffer they are so I just don’t use the big ones. The more curved the nail, the smaller pieces you want to use. I use a thin coat of clear top coat (with regular polish) then while wet apply flakes as desired. Let dry then top with clear, thicker top coat. Another good gel like top coat is from Walmart (but there are lots of brands out there) is Nail-Aid No Light Gel Top Coat. It is in a black bottle. For gel polish just apply flakes over top coat, cure, another top coat, cure.

Another method is a dip method for extreme coverage. Dip wet nail into flakes, or sprinkle on, press as desired, cure, or dry, add top coat, or two.

CONCLUSION: How fun are these? I know mylar has been out for a while and real nail artists (me excluded) can come up with some super creative ideas and ways to use them. For purposes of getting them swatched quickly I went for fairly simple. My excuse and I’m sticking to it! lol Anyway, they are fun and as easy to use as any nail art gem. You are only limited by your creativity!
