I’m no polish snob. I can make most formulas work and if it’s not a total washout, I’ll use it for nail art! That being said, I have to give kudos to Wet n Wild for the new Wildshine line, new bottles and all. I want to address the bottles before I begin. The bottles are cute. The applicator lids, hmmm, a bit of a learning curve for me to spin in my hand but not terrible. I like the brushes, nice and soft and I alway paint at a flatish angle anyway. I like the long applicator wands. Is it just me or do they seem longer than usual? Of course my all-time fave bottle shape is square and only because of two things. I’m a clutz, and they store nicely! So on with the swatches. I have five to review for you today. I found all of them at my Dollar General, $1 ea.
First up is what I would qualify to be in the family of Pantone Color of the Year, Marsala. And that is Grape Minds Think Alike. I did buy this one and one other a couple of months ago which was before Marsala was announced. Either way, that color called to me and I’m glad I picked it up!

Before I forget to mention this, all the creme formulas dried what I’d consider medium dry time. I didn’t use base or topcoat for this swatching. The gold metallic dried faster. Here is Grasping at Strawberries. This shouts summer to me!

I am not the biggest fan of some corals due to them not jiving with my complexion, but She Sells looks pretty nice even with my wintry pale skin. Not a huge fan of the formula, exactly like the Grasping at Strawberries, a bit tricky, but it wasn’t awful. Believe me, I’ve had a few cheap polishes from overseas and they were awful!

I love the shade of this nude on me. Yo Soy formula was a tad better that the Grasping… and She Sells, but for this kind of nude, totally worth it.

And finally, Ready to Propose, a completely different formula and it performed like a star. I can’t tell you about wear, as I rarely ever wear any polish longer than 24 hours and I swatched these all in one afternoon. But application was SO EASY! Love this one whether for an accent, art base or all over mani.

All in all, $5 for five pretty polishes is A-OK in my book. You might find different color offerings depending on the season in your area. There were several other colors in this new packaging but I wanted to test these first. I will probably pick up a couple of blues or teals and maybe a pale pink to round out my little WnW collection. I have a thing about my collections being an even number (easier to rack) 😉 How about you? Did you find any of these bargains? What do you think?

I love Ready to Propose! Such a super-chic gold!
Very Chic indeed! I was worried the formula would be less than what I’m used to but it was great!
I was just in Kmart yesterday eying up the new Wet n Wild colors. I love that they kept some of their best (in my opinion) colors like Blazed and also added some really awesome new colors. For $1, I agree with you – they are a great little bargain!
They seriously are. For $1 ea, I can get past the little application problems I had. The colors are so worth it and with a gently hand you can still apply them with very few streaks. Any streaking from the more ornery creams disappear with the second coat!
