These six OPI Infinite Shine polishes with their Primer and Gloss topcoat have truly been a joy to test. The Gel Effects Lacquer System may not be the only kid on the block with this “no-curing” method, but they certainly do give hard core gel systems a run for their money. I might add, none of the darker shades stained my nail beds. Just thought I’d throw that in for free! 😉 And since I’ve already laid the groundwork with the two previous posts, I’ll proceed right on to the last two shades in this series of swatches… Pretty Pink Perseveres and She Went On and On and On!
First, check out Pretty Pink Perseveres! This pretty pink creme was thick and highly pigmented like the pale blue in the previous post, but no worries. A light and patient hand will get the job done.
And last but NOT least, one of my favorites in the bunch, She Went On and On and On. LOVE coral reds, and to me it just screamed for some gold accents!
That concludes this 3-part series on OPI’s Infinite Shine system. Have you picked up any of the 30 available shades? I’m dying to try more!
This is the second set in this 3-part series on OPI’s new Gel Effects Lacquer System, Infinite Shine which includes the Primer and the Gloss topcoat. I’m thrilled with how pigmented these polishes are. Today I’ll be sharing two more from the six on my shelf! To Infinity & Blue-yond and Indignantly Indigo.
Remember, to get the best out of these gel like lacquers, you will want to apply the Primer and the Gloss topcoat, and you’ll get tons of wear out of all 30 available shades. Come back in the next day or so for the last two shades in this series!
First let me tell you I will be presenting six polishes in sets of two (my goal is each post a few days apart). Along with this six out of 30 stunning shades, the Gel Effects Lacquer System includes the Primer and the Gloss topcoat. For 10-day wear and flawless shine, this is a superior system. By the end of this series, I will share with you my wear findings, but for now, I’ll be describing color, shine, application and formula. So lets get started! First to get the wear and shine guaranteed by OPI for this system, you really, really do want to include the Primer and Gloss.
I experimented, just for grins, one of the shades without the Primer and found application a bit streaky and on the thin side. I thought, hmmm, not too sure about this. Then I applied the fast drying Primer which dries to a satin/slightly shiny finish. It dries quickly so by the time you get to your fifth finger, you’re ready to apply your color. This is the part that astounded me. Application of the color was totaly different, and I might say, a dream. It went on smooth and less streaky, still required two coats (my experiment was with Can’t Be Beet). Dried medium time and I waited about 5 minutes before topping it off with the medium dry time Gloss topcoat. Superior shine and color. Brushes are typical of all OPI brushes. No issues whatsoever. Now let’s see the first two shades for the series.
I love beets with butter! And Can’t Be Beet is a dead ringer for beets! And it goes on like butter with the Primer underneath.
Same story. Maintaining My Sand-ity is a great formula. Oh, the name just made me want to have a bit of fun. For some reason I just pictured a kitty sitting on a pile of sand (no, it’s not cat litter!).
Maintaining My Sand-ity is perfect in two coats, as is this glorious beet red in Can’t Be Beet.
I’ve got four more shades to go this time ’round. I’m dying to test that 10-day promise! You can order these and 24 more shades NOW on Loxa.com!
OPI explains its Gel Effects Lacquer System, Infinite Shine like this. “…the next revolution in nail lacquer. Imagine color that requires no touch ups all week. Fall in love with intense, gel-like shine that lasts until you take it off.” The Infinite Shine system is available now at Loxa Beauty!
OPI, the leader in nail color innovation, introduces Infinite Shine Gel Effects Lacquer System. This brand new collection provides the rich color and shine of long-lasting gel manicures, without the need for LED light curing or removal by soaking. Thirty gorgeous shades in colors that only OPI can deliver. Provides a creme finish that applies like a lacquer and removes like a lacquer. Gives shine that lasts until you take it off.
This 3-step system ensures bold, lasting results with a primer that prevents staining and a gloss top coat that creates dimensional shine. This unique nail lacquer system works to create the perfect environment for lasting, gorgeous, high-shine nail color.
Unless you don’t follow nail bloggers, Instgram nailistas or just plain live under a rock, you’ve no doubt heard of the pretty doggone cool iridescent, color-shifting nail polish flakies craze. All I can say is, I’m in! I’ve tried the pale, semi-transparent iridescent ones which may shift from cool blue, yellow/orange, pink and green. And oh my they are gorgeous. These take the trend to a whole new level. Warning, lots of images here but I’ve compressed them for you so they shouldn’t be too brutal on your data package! 😉
ILNP Ultra Chrome Flakies are fully opaque and can be worn alone or over any color without affecting the intense color shifting properties. Full coverage in 3 – 4 coats. And ILNP is taking pre-orders as of yesterday, Nov. 14th! So enough of me yammering on and on about these lovelies. I have the first 6 of 13 to show you today. More to come later. Here are come the swatches! Oh, and I would be remiss if I didn’t mention these are in ILNP brand spankin’ new classy squared bottles. The brushes are smooth, rubberized ergo cap, and the formulas are easy to apply, quick to dry…my oh my!
Note from ILNP: Be sure to get over to ILNP asap to get in on the pre-order discount! Pre-orders are scheduled to end on Tuesday November 18th at 10PM Pacific Time. Please note that it could end slightly earlier if supplies run out! ILNP planned for pre-orders to ship out on or before 11/26/2014 but there is a possibility that they meet a few delays that could push this date out several days. Please know that they will be doing our absolute best to get them out on time!
Thank you for reading and sifting through all the photos! Phew, that was fun though. Please take a moment to comment and let me know if you’ll be picking up some or all of these gorgeous special effect polishes. Again, please know these are NOT DIFFICULT to remove. It’s just like removing regular polish whether you layer it over an undercoat of color, or on the bare nail. I LOVE that!
In case you wondered, here is info on ILNP 3-Free and cruelty free products!
“What is your vegan / cruelty free policy?
ILNP absolutely does not test our products on animals nor do we purchase materials from suppliers that do. We make a conscious effort to avoid purchasing animal/insect derived materials like carmine and guanine/pearl, etc. as there are plenty of synthetic alternatives that perform the same or even better.
Are your nail polishes 3-Free?
Yes! All ILNP nail polishes are 3 free! They DO NOT contain Toluene, Formaldehyde, or Dibutyl Phthalate.
What does 3-Free mean?
3-Free means that our nail polishes do not contain Toluene, Formaldehyde, or Dibutyl Phthalate. These 3 ingredients were previously used in most nail polish formulations until recent studies found them to be potentially harmful or irritable to humans. While these chemicals aren’t illegal to use in nail polish (although California law requires special labeling if used), most large brands have already moved to 3-Free formulas at the urge of educated consumers as well as organizations that campaign for safe cosmetics.”
Yesterday I posted the first of 8 Glitter Lambs 2014 Christmas glitter toppers. What fun I’m having with these. The very names inspire creativity. Well, as much as I can muster before I’ve even entered my chilly attic to bring out my Christmas decorations. Believe me, this is a lot easier than dragging out 20 crates and boxes of holiday joy! I love it when I get all that festive decor put up and I can sit by the fire, and breathe a sigh of accomplishment. All the blood, sweat and tears are worth the final outcome. Then everyone else gets to sit with me and say, “Beautiful! I love all the pretty lights and manger scenes and look at that tree! Wow, we should leave it up all year!” I have to admit, inside my head a bit of Ebenezer eeks out a tiny grumble as I contemplate running a hot bath. But you know what? I truly don’t do it for the compliments or the pat on the back. Sorry to say, I’m a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to decking the halls. I do it because I’m celebrating Christmas! Well, looks like I veered off track. I get this way this time of year. 😉 So on with this glitter train and the rest of the polishes!
First up, Pink Gingerbread House. It’s a beauty and could really be used any time of year. I had to forgo the recreation of a gingerbread house on my nail. I know my artistic limits! 😉
Pink Gingerbread House is described as, “This is almost similar to our “Unicorns Love Cotton Candy” polish except this has Gold holographic hearts, mini pink stars and iridescent glitter in it. So if you own “Unicorns Love Cotton Candy” then this is going to look a lot like it if you put them side by side. But trust me there is some different glitters in this. This is loaded with so many different glitters. It has red, blue, green tiny hex glitters, pink hex from medium to very tiny, and some gold hex in many different sizes. This will come with a small baggie (1/4 tsp) of small mini pink stars and a baggie of (1/4 tsp) holographic hearts for glitter placement. This would look amazing without the hearts and stars on the nail as well. It would be very easy to leave these off and just have the smaller glitters on your nail.”
Macro of Pink Gingerbread House…drool-worthy!
Well, I’m praying this Artic blast that just hit us won’t bring a snow storm, so let’s just keep the Snow Storm on our nails, shall we?!
Snow Storm is another essential for that snowy effect when you do those wintery manis. The clear base is full, really full, of matte white shreds.
Pink Christmas Sugar Cookie is described as, “This Christmas I decided to make some really simple glitter toppers that would look great with so many different colors. I came up with this solid pink glitter topper that has only 1 type of glitter in it. It is filled with .008 pink glitter. You should get quite a bit of glitter on your brush with one coat. This almost looks like sprinkled sugar on the nail. I love this color and I love how it only has one glitter in it. You can really see the texture in the picture. You could add a coat of iridescent glitter over this and really make it sparkle.
Macro of Pink Christmas Sugar Cookie on the nail.
And here’s a fun one. Maybe even my favorite! Don’t Touch My Candy Cane Milkshake.
Don’t Touch My Candy Cane Milkshake. Yum, that sounds delicious doesn’t it!? I would describe it as a clear based glitter topper full of micro matte white glitters, small red glitters, small and medium red squares, red mini bars, large white matte hexes, small white hexes and maybe more! So much in one bottle. Love this!
Thanks for reading and be sure to comment. I love hearing from you!
