Rubber Ducky & Bubble Bath by Glitter Lambs

Rubber Ducky & Bubble Bath

Rubber Ducky & Bubble Bath

More perfection from Jamie! I was so excited when I heard she was making this set. (you can also buy them individually). And seriously, they were made for each other after all!

Perfect formula!

Perfect formula!

Rubber Ducky is described as a clear base filled with matte orange and yellow hex glitter with rainbow holographic glitter. So sunny and fun! I painted it over a medium yellow and JUST ONE COAT of Rubber Ducky. It’s very packed.

Pretty isn’t it? I don’t wear many yellows very well. But with this glitter topper, it looks wonderful on my complexion. That makes me so happy because I really do love yellow.

Then we have bouncing baby blue Bubble Bath! What a wonderful compliment to the Rubber Ducky! It is a gorgeous pale blue glitter topper.

Blue Buttercream Icing by Glitter Lambs will make you drool

Sweet blue!

Sweet blue!

What can I say, blue polishes are my weakness. I was thrilled when Jamie from Glitter Lambs sent me this sapphire beauty to swatch and review. Look at that shimmery perfect blue. It’s reminds me of the blue pacific off one of Maui’s most gorgeous black sand beaches.

The formula is perfect to apply, dries quickly, sort of like Sally Hansen Insta Dri polish. It dries to sort of a satin finish, very soft. If you can see it, I applied a layer of top coat over the pointer and middle fingers, and left the satin finish on the ring and pinkie. It’s a bit difficult to capture the difference in a photo, but it lovely either way.

See how smooth this is? No streaking, Yay!

I hope Jamie plans on making more of these stunning shimmers. Most of her polishes are glitters and glitter toppers. Now she’s adding some shimmery polishes into the mix. Could it get any better? I submit it could not! πŸ˜‰

Philly Loves Lacquer’s AMAZING Duo!

I 95 Quick Dry Topcoat & Penndot Sticky Basecoat

I 95 Quick Dry Topcoat & Penndot Sticky Basecoat

Philly Loves Lacquer will be releasing something amazing in June! I-95 Quick Dry Top Coat and Penndot Sticky Base Coat. I’ve had the chance to play with these gems and I can tell you truthfully, I’m in love!

I rarely get a chance to wear any lacquers more than a day or two and recently I went on vacation for a week. I had the chance to wear some polishes for several days while taking a short break from swatching. I packed these babies with me and used them with every manicure. I even kept one polish on for nearly 5 days, of course using both the base and the top coats.

Awesome twosome!

Awesome twosome!

The base coat dries nearly as quick as the top coat. Yet it gives you plenty of time to smooth on the perfect formula. I have a feeling I am going to use this little treasure up quickly because I love it! It’s smooth and obviously helped my polish adhere well. I spent the whole vacation hunting in the sand for seashells, always covered in seawater!

With one mani that I wore 4 days with both the base and top coats, I had minimal tip wear and no chips. The top coat dries amazingly fast, as fast as many mainstream brands. What I like about this is NO SHRINKAGE! Take that George Costanza! πŸ˜‰ It’s glossy and the formula is spot on. Whether you layer it over glitter or smooth polish, it’s up for the challenge.

Remember indie polish lovers, the brand new Summer Down the Shore Collection, Philly Loves Lacquer will be released tomorrow, June 1st! It’s a gorgeous set of beachy lacquers. Read my review http://wp.me/p43rnr-zA from a couple of weeks ago and check out the swatches. Believe me, you WANT these!

Plus these new base and top coats will soon be released, early June. So be watching Esther’s site for that. Here are the links below:

First try at pond mani, it’s a start!

First try at pond mani, it's a start!

SO! My first attempt at pond art. It’s a start yo! 😊I’ve seen so many pretty pond manis and I wanted to give it a shot, albeit modified. 😜 I ended up not having time to do my design with my dotting tool so used nail decals! The green jelly is one I made myself. I used a clear base coat and added a few drops of green food coloring. No worries, it surprisingly doesn’t stain! πŸ™€

On the other nails I used Vertigo, a beautiful white creme by wHet. Then topped it with a layer of Sparkling Garbage by Orly.

I know there are a ton of excellent nail artists out there who have done these or ones like it. Tons of tutorials as well. Since I don’t know them all to list them, I’ll just share the one YouTube tutorial I watched! Here is the link to La Lacquer’s tutorial for Pond Manis. http://youtu.be/cEjioMVzXqw

KBShimmer Goldie Rocks…rocks!

KBShimmer Goldie Rocks...rocks!

I’m so jazzed that I won blogger Kirby Hartline’s KBShimmer Giveaway. Thank you so much Kirby, aka The Mercurial Magpie. Yay, my first KBShimmer polish by owner Christy Rose! Her indie polishes are a legend.

I tried all week to capture the linear holo via the sunshine, but the weather would not cooperate. I’ll be editing this post at some point, after a ton of upcoming swatching I’m committed to, with an updated sunshiny photo. πŸ˜‰ I apologize for this poorly lit photo, it doesn’t do it justice using only artificial light.

Goldie Rocks is described as a yellow gold metallic polish that in the sun or strong line has a linear holo sparkle that pops through. In the shade, this shimmery gold offers rich color with coverage in 2-3 coats. Retails for $8.75 and is part of KB Shimmer’s newly released Early Summer 2014 Collection.

This Linear Holographic is strong in the sun, blindingly so! It recommend 2-3 coats but I did fine with 2!

You can find this beauty along with tons of other must-have indie polishes, skin care and bath products at https://www.kbshimmer.com.

My water garden, a Lacquer Legion monthly mani challenge

My water garden, a Lacquer Legion monthly mani challenge

Ok, so Kirby The Mercurial Magpieο»Ώ inspired me to branch out and create a Garden Themed mani for this month’s Lacquer Legion’s theme challenge! #LLgarden I have to admit, nail art in it’s true form intimidates me a bit. #1 I’m no artist. Well yeah, we will stick with #1!

So here is my contribution, my garden mani is called Water Garden. I used the watercolor technique (which I’m still learning) from Nicole @youngwildandpolished, one of my YouTube faves. Lacquers used: thumbnail and ring finger are base of Pacific Blue by Sally Hansen Extreme Wear and topped with Sally Hansen Complete Salon in Mermaid’s Tale. For the watercolor water garden nails I used as a base, Essie’s Mint Candy Apple representing water; and for the lilies I used Essie’s Watermelon, Zoya’s Josie, and SH’s Pacific Blue. Topped with Seche Vite. And yes, I did both hands! Love to be challenged? This was my first one for Lacquer Legion and it was pretty fun. Check them out on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/thelacquerlegion. The challenge is going on today, May 28th and you can post both on their Facebook page as well as on Instagram. Their handle is thelacquerlegion. Are you submitting one? Leave a comment below with your link!

A water themed mani to share!

A water themed mani to share!

As you may, or may not know, I’ve been on vacation in Florida. We have a beach condo here. Sadly, we are leaving tomorrow. It gets harder and harder to leave every time. And we bought the place in ’07! I didn’t want you to think I’d dropped off the map so I’m sharing a beachy mani with you. And maybe a couple images from our trip.

About a month ago I took a stab at a watercolor nail thanks to Nicole’s youngwildandpolished YouTube tutorial. Thank you so much! πŸ˜˜πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’• I can’t wait to do more. Polishes used were China Glaze Seahorsin Around for other nails, them for water color I used Square Hue in Beethoven Straat; Wet n Wild for the white base in Whipped Topping; Wet n Wild in Deception; and Elle Cutting Edge Emerald.

Here are a couple of images from our beach trip. And we do rent out our condo. Most of the summer is booked solid, but for future reference if you’re interested, check us out here: http://www.vrbo.com/129539 our booking calendar is always updated.
