Wanderlust by wHet is an inky beauty!

Wanderlust by wHet is an inky beauty!

Wanderlust by wHet is a glossy, deep deep blue lacquer. As deep and mysterious as the restless ocean. Looking at the bottle, you can see a slight shimmer of purple. But it really doesn’t show up on the nail like it does in the bottle. No worries. You’ll still be captivated by the blackened blue. What does Wanderlust mean? Look on the bottom of the bottle!

I think I have some of this in me from reading the definition. I do love to travel!

I think I have some of this in me from reading the definition. I do love to travel!

Throughout my life, I’ve traveled quite a bit. Planes, trains and automobiles, I’m always ready to explore someplace new. Of course I prefer places with sand, water and warm tropical breezes! I’m especially partial to the ocean. So I’m natural drawn to blues. Just talking about it makes me ready to pack.

Always ready for the next trip!

Always ready for the next trip!

The formula, as expected, goes on smooth as silk, no flooding and I only used one coat here and it’s as deep as you see in the bottle. But I’d imagine a second coat might bring an even deeper effect. It dries fairly quickly. In fact by the time I got to the last nail, it wasn’t even tacky.

Take a trip over to wHet and see what floats your boat!

Nefarious by wHet is wickedly awesome

Super classy Nefarious!

Super classy Nefarious!

It’s rare that I would be attracted to such a deep teal. Yet this one had me drooling just looking at the bottle! It’s such a rich, sexy teal. Somewhere between a creme and a jelly, but not quite crelly! It’s easy to apply and seriously a one-coater! wHet, where have you been all my life? The California based company has their formulas down to a science.

At least your nails may be a little wicked ;-)

At least your nails may be a little wicked 😉

As you may have read in my earlier posts on wHet nail lacquers, these are all wonderful in application. From the brush to the formula, it doesn’t get much better. Nefarious did seem to dry a little faster than my last swatch with Voluptuous. One might expect this with different pigments being used. But this really did dry fast! Be sure to check back on my blog today or tomorrow. I’ve got another feast for your eyes by wHet!

Nefarious, just a little shady ;-)

Voluptuous by wHet…so vampy!

Voluptuous by wHet...so vampy!

I can’t get over how amazing the formulas are of these lacquers by wHet! This vampy berry red polish, called Voluptuous, has a slight shimmer. It’s a cool, classy red that will look great on any complexion.

Voluptuous is a bombshell red. A cool toned shade with a slight shimmer.

Voluptuous is a bombshell red. A cool toned shade with a slight shimmer.

The formulas are consistently smooth, easy to apply and complete drying time is medium. Non-tacky in five minutes that is. The finish is gel-like and long lasting, especially when you use the 7-day Incognito system with their combo top/bottom coat, Incognito.

I love how wHet has the definition of it’s names on the bottom label…

From the first bottle I tried, Megalomaniac, I knew this brand would be one of my favorites. I’m looking forward to seeing what else they have up their sleeve. To date, I currently have two more shades to share with you! I can’t wait to get to the next one!

Pink. Glitter. Polish. What’s not to love?! Baby Twinkle is a sparkly glitter topper in a clear base. It’s filled with small pink hex, rainbow holographic hex and squares, and sliver and gold hex and squares. I’m telling you, the holographic elements really jump off the nail.

Kerfuffle by wHet, & the Incognito System

Kerfuffle by wHet, & the Incognito System

I’m a huge fan of periwinkle lacquers. It’s like blue and lavender had a wrestling match and they drew a tie! It’s becoming on any complexion and it’s great for spring. wHet sent me some gorgeous shades to review and I couldn’t wait to get this one started. And since I’m testing the Incognito Nail Lacquer 7-day system, I chose their “Kerfuffle”, this luscious, highly pigmented periwinkle. Just last week I posted a review of my first bottle of wHet nail lacquer in Megalomaniac. I was so impressed so I couldn’t wait to review more!

Kerfuffle, (ker-FUF-el), a disorderly outburst or tumult. ;-)

Kerfuffle, (ker-FUF-el), a disorderly outburst or tumult. 😉

I am on day two of the 7-day system, details below. I painted on one layer of the clear combo bottom/top coat. It’s a clear, glossy and thin sealer, mid you will. I will mention that the Kerfuffle is very pigmented and although one cost should do, I used two. And it’s super glossy, just like Megalomaniac. Love that! Then I followed with a top coat of Incognito. As of today, after doing dishes and general wear (I’m test on my dominant right hand and I use my left for swatching polishes) and there are no chips or tip wear. Check back here on this post for an update on Day Seven for results.

By day 7, I had very little tip wear, no chips and the glossiness never failed! I highly recommend this system!

UPDATE! Day 4 of the 7-Day No Chip Incognito System. Following the system suggestions, I’ve had no chipping whatsoever. Only very slight tip wear. Probably due to removing polish from my other hand…the one I swatch and review polishes on. It’s very difficult to avoid remover from getting on your working hand! But I can still tell the system is working great! This will come in so handy when we take our beach vacation and I don’t want to hassle with changing polish as often as I do at home. I’ll report back here on Day 7!

In the coming week, I’ll be reviewing more wHetness! 😉 as they say in the definition, “…to stimulate curiosity, appetite and desire.” wHet lacquers are 3-free, vegan formulas, made in the USA, 7-day chip resistant and based in LOS Angeles, California.

Kerfuffle! Every label has the definition of the lacquer's name.

Kerfuffle! Every label has the definition of the lacquer’s name.

“wHet’s Incognito Nail Lacquer System is The best of Both Worlds!

wHet’s Incognito system uses technology that gives you long lasting, high gloss wear without any harmful chemicals or exposure to UV/LED light. Let’s not forget to mention it removes as easily as regular nail polish, making it possible for the color indecisive to change up their look with no hassle.

The Incognito system requires two simple steps for a 7-day chip resistant finish that mimics the high shine look of a gel polish. The dual functioning clear base/top coat, appropriately named Incognito, is applied to clean nails followed by the wHet lacquer color of your choice. The creamy consistency of the lacquer means it only requires one coat. Finish with a coat of Incognito over the lacquer and viola; you’ve locked in your polish for a 7-day chip free wear! Easy enough right?
For added shine and protection throughout the week, apply Incognito to your nails the next day and again 3-4 days later. When you’re ready to try your next fashion forward color simply remove the lacquer as you would regular nail polish. wHet CEO and Founder said he created the system to “combine the best of both worlds – a gel like finish without the harmful chemicals or hassle of removing it”.

Emerald & Ash, where no indie lacquer has gone before. Globular Cluster M15 and Hubble!

Hubble and Globular Cluster M15, available April 24th at www.EmeraldandAsh.com

Hubble and Globular Cluster M15, available April 24th at http://www.EmeraldandAsh.com

This indie polish company, Emerald & Ash of Colorado Springs, CO, is one of the most creative I’ve seen. It’s owners, Nate and Ashley, a husband and wife team, are the ones who make all this glorious lacquer happen. Hubby Nate, a physics teacher, claims to be the brains behind everything and Ashley lends her creativity and insight to form and color. A great team indeed! It must be a blast at their house. I’d love to be a fly on their wall.

Before I begin singing my praises about these two new additions to the Hubble family, Globular Cluster M15 and Hubble, I’d like to list the other polishes in the collection. I’m pretty sure the whole set is a must have! They are: Dark Matter, Deep Field, Helix Nebula, Hourglass Nebula and Red Shift. All drool-worthy shades and formulas.

In this post I’m featuring two of the newest additions to the Hubble Collection. Globular Cluster M15 is a black jelly based lacquer filled with silver, gold and blue glitters along with blue and white micro flakies.

Globular Cluster M15 sparkles day and night!

Look deeper into space and you’ll find silver and gold holographic micro glitter. Like space itself, the deeper you look the more you’ll find.

The formula glides on smooth and requires two to three coats for full coverage. I think maybe you could try a pure black base and then add two coats, but I did just fine with two. You can wear it with or without topcoat.
It sparkles like the night sky, like the real globular Cluster M15!

Hubble is an amazing metallic foil polish. The formula slips smoothly onto the nail like skipping stones on the moon. It’s literally mistake proof!

Hubble mani with the Eye of Jupiter!

I would describe it as a white gold foil but could also be described as a silver foil. It depends how you look at it and the lighting. Inspired by the Hubble Space Telescope, this foil was created to look like the outside of the Hubble. The polish also contains tiny gold and black flakies.
Gorgeous Hubble. So complex!

It’s like having the telescope’s outer shell on your nails! It’s very reflective and classy. I think it will really look great with a summer tan, but suitable for all seasons.
Here's a macro shot of Hubble in the bottle.

You can wear Hubble with or without a topcoat, although wearing a good topcoat does extend the life of any polish. I used Gelous topcoat here.

It has been well over a year since I tried my hand at painting a galaxy nail. But I thought in honor of the collection I’d take another stab at it. This one is called “The Eye of God”, or “Eye of Jupiter” if you’re a Battlestar Galactica fan as I am! It is also known as the Helix Nebula. Would Starbuck be proud of my nail art? Lol I really don’t think she’d care. She’s not a fru fru girl, but I love her character!

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that I LOVE these bottles! Square bottles are so easy to store or display and the beautiful Emerald & Ash logo is very professionally printed on the medium size 11 ml and regular size 15 ml bottles. I found the brushes on the 11 ml bottles very easy to maneuver. I understand the larger bottles have a rubberized handle and even flatter brush. They’ve thought of everything. They sent along a cool transparent plastic business card and felt squares for easy glitter polish removal. I had no trouble at all removing these two but they will be nice to have for larger glitter polishes.

April 24th, 1990, is the 24th anniversary of the Hubble Space Telescope’s space launch. Since then is has been capturing stunning photos of space, welcoming us to gaze upon nebulas, galaxies, deep space and more. In honor of the 24 years of service since its launch, Emerald & Ash will be having a sale on April 24th. All polishes from the Hubble collection, including Globular Cluster M15 and Hubble, will be 24% off. This sale will only be on 4/24 so you better act fast!

Factoids! Ashley sent me this link that shows an image of the Globular Cluster M15 and I was amazed at how they captured the cluster in this polish. Even more reason to say wow! And What got my attention was that this cluster of over 100,000 stars is one of the few easily seen through mere binoculars. Read more here: http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap131119.html

The Hubble Space Telescope has now been gliding over earth for 24 years. It has proved to be one of NASA’s most worthwhile achievements with it’s high resolution images. Read more about the Hubble here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hubble_Space_Telescope
