Zoya Hazel shines

Zoya Hazel shines

As promised, here is one one of yesterday’s purchases in daylight. Zoya’s Hazel really delivers. This is one coat…ONE! The mix of crushed gold and blue green glitter foil is full of shine. This formula is a fast dryer as well. Really quite magical. The accent nail is one coat of Hazel and two coats of Spoiled brand’s Champagne Siren, a finely milled gold glitter top coat. You can just see a hint of Hazel underneath and the combo nearly looks like a Pixie Dust.

Mini haul with an unexpected surprise.

Mini haul with an unexpected surprise.

First pleasant surprise and certainly not a giant savings, was my Wet & Wild Megalast purchase at Walgreen. W & W products were buy one get one half off. These two dark and smoldering lacquers caught my eye. For the life of me I can’t find the name of the collection, but they were on their own display and only a few were left. On the far right is Under Your Spell, a deep deep shimmery red with black undertones. Next to it is Poison Ivy. It’s a gorgeous shimmery evergreen with black undertones. I love the brush and formula of this cheapo line of polish. Then I went to Ulta and had one thing in mind. To add to my teeny tiny Zoya collection. I only budgeted myself to two bottles and preferably ones in the sale rack. But I didn’t see anything that said, “take me home.” So I found the Zoya racks and drooled for a good long while. I caved and chose a Pixie Dust, Chyna. Oh, my, gosh! I can’t wait to wear it. Chyna is a rich sparkly red, a real attention getter! The other is called Hazel. Someone tell me, where do they get these names? I get Chyna…it’s that kind of red, like you’d see in a Chinese art display. It’s breathtaking. Hazel is hard to describe. I know I’m not the only one, but I open bottles to check the formula, pigment depth, etc. This one is seriously pigmented and promises to be a strong one-coater. My nighttime bathroom shot does not do it justice. I promise to retake this photo. It’s a duo metallic of pale gold and dusty green. Even watching it on plain paper in my polish journal proved this one will be one of my favorites. Here’s the big surprise. I lost my $3.50 off of $10 coupon and couldn’t seem to bring it up on my Ulta phone app. So the clerk took pity on me and said, “here, I have one I can give you.” I also asked her if the buy two/get one sale was still on and she said it ended a couple of days ago. So she gifted me this great Zoya Color Lock System kit! Each bottle here, base coat, top coat and nail dry drops are .25 ounce, a decent mini, bigger than most. Also was an eye dropper and a bottle of remover, and an eye dropper. The whole purchase was only $14 with tax. Cool huh?!

Mixing it up

Mixing it up

You know how it is. You just made a polish run and you can’t decide which colors you want next. I thought this combo makes a stunning mani. My Zoya of the day is Yasmeen, and the iridescent topper on my accent nail is one of the new Sally Hansen Triple Shine line, called Hypnautical. I was I was so happy our Walgreen finally got this in stock, and on sale.

Pretty in Pink

Pretty in Pink

Hard Candy varnishes are so beautiful but I do wish the bottles were bigger. At only $4 a pop at Walmart, you think you’re getting a heck of a good deal, until you see the deceptively tall bottle is a mere .26 fl. oz. Most bottles are around .50 oz on average. They are pretty though! Colors used here are, pointer finger is Little Bo Pink, middle finger is Little Hottie, and thumb and pinkie is crush on copper. Accent nail is a jelly sandwich.

This jelly sandwich was created by using a sheer French base, LA Girl candy sprinkles and sheer jelly topper. Then I created the soda fizz nail tips with iridescent glitter.

Amazing chunky holo

Amazing chunky holo

I love Kleancolor polishes. Their chunky holos are so gorgeous as top coats. Smelly lacquers to be sure, but the payoffs are gorgeous. Here is a mani using Chunky Holo Fuscia painted over a Wet and Wild Megalast called On a Trip. You really need to see these chunky holos IRL because the lightplay and rainbow colors are trippy!

Here are two of my favorite holos from Nabi. Dark Purple and Wine. Great linear effects with this brand. Dries so fast…like time warp fast. Lol
